FIRST OFFICIAL GROW! Paper towel germination over heat mat. Transferred into jiffy pellet under humidity dome and into tent with light at 25% and 30 inches away. Cotyledons opened within a day. Started following coco for cannabis method and fertigation schedule so I’m fertigating once a day until runoff. All ratios and ph/EC/ppm on target. So far, so good.
Week 2 looking good to me. Day 14 runoff numbers:
EC= 1282
PPM= 610
pH= 6.47
Still following cocoforcannabis nutrient element ratio schedule and fertigating once a day in the morning. 24 hour light at around 50% strength, ~26 inches away
Excited to see week 3 growth, she’s already busting!
Lots of growth this week! Although there’s some kind of nute burn, or potential deficiency? First time grower so I’m not sure. The runoff EC was around +300 from the inflow, so I began high frequency fertigating twice a day. Been going pretty much by the book with the cocoforcannabis nutrient schedule. Trying to keep the runoff EC within +200 of the inflow.
Began LST and leaf tucking this week, 3 bends total so far, inspecting and adjusting daily for even canopy.
Growth like crazy this week! Thinking about some super light pruning soon to get a little more air flow as she is quite bushy.
All runoff EC numbers are within +200 of inflow, feels like she’s on a roll right now.
Maintaining LST and leaf tucking daily, excited for the next week!
Another solid week!
Tons of growth, started seeing pistils half way thru the week so began the early bloom nutrient schedule for the next week and a half. She started drinking a lot more water, over 2.5 liters a day now with fertigating twice a day.
All Runoff EC numbers throughout the week hovering around 1050
I did some light lst, leaf tucking, and defoliation for airflow and light for bud sites. Space in the tent is dwindling.
Excited for the next week of early flower!
Early bloom this week and moving right along. Burnt tips and twisted leaves arrived this week. Runoff EC was fine and led light DLI is at ~30 mol/m2 for 24 hours so I don’t think it’s related to that. Discovered a faulty calibration with my pH pen that had the feeding solution way more acidic than I wanted. Hoping that was the issue and it’s been identified and remedied. Switched to the drops for now to check pH.
Lots of bud sites blooming and stretching, I did some light pruning a couple times throughout the week, about 4/5 leaves each time. Starting to see some frost developing. Smelling pretty dank. Pumped for this next week!
This week definitely had its challenges. Been getting burnt tips that only affect the upper growth, so I’m thinking it’s light stress related. I’ve tried to keep the DLI below 32 and raised the lights. Nutrient solution pH has been much more consistent this week at around 6.0 and the runoff EC is at around 1250. VPD stays around 1.0-1.3 most the time but it was very humid and muggy this past week so the humidity spiked a few times and lowered it. All things considered, she has stretched and grown quite a lot and barely even fits in the tent anymore so whatever issues the foliage is having isn’t negatively affecting the bud growth. Getting a lot more frosty trichomes and the smell is a lot stronger. Moving up to mid bloom nutes this next week.
Been slowly pruning lower fan leaves that aren’t getting any light, as well as fan leaves crowding the middle of the bush that are blocking bud sites and clogging air flow. Excited for the next week of flower, hope she still fits in the tent!
The smell is getting strong! Several colas just fattening up and getting all kinds of frosty. Been slowly defoliating the big fan leaves and larf down below which aren’t getting any light. Runoff EC has been hovering around 1450-1500, inflow EC is at about 1250. Some nute burn or maybe light burn, that’s been following me from weeks back, but growing well regardless. Hard to get humidity below 50% in the tent so just keeping up a lot of good airflow and hoping for the best. This girl is a beast!
Getting very frosty! Colas beginning to fatten up pretty nicely. Just been pruning lower leaves and larf every other day, looking primed for late flower! Still fertigating every 12 hours, and runoff EC is hovering around 1600. Smell is very pungent now, skunky but sweet. Luckily, it got colder and dry here recently so the humidity in the tent has settled in around 50% or lower without having to crank the dehumidifier constantly. Excited for the next week of fattening buds!
This tent is just nuts. As a first time grower, I’m just amazed at how these plants have been doing. I say these, I actually have 2 double grapes in the tent, and the one I haven’t been documenting on here is the taller, healthier and more fruitful plant that has been about 5 days behind the one on here with development. I’ll include more photos and videos of that plant as the diary comes to a close. That being said, they are both looking and smelling incredible. Insanely frosty.
The temperature and humidity really dropped around here this week so that’s helped ease any concerns about mold during late flower. Been inspecting and airing out daily but it is QUITE bushy and tight in there. The tent has remained at around 50% RH with good airflow. I’ve been removing some fan leaves here and there and unruly larfy lower branches. Runoff EC is hanging around 1400. Starting to make out a little fade! I have a jeweler magnifying glass to try and inspect the trichomes and at this point they do appear nice and cloudy at the calyx. Hoping for a little more amber. Traveling for thanksgiving next week is making me aim for a chop and hang 7 days from now, would be day 76 all together. Thoughts??
The smell is pretty intense, has me salivating every time I walk downstairs. Can definitely make out the grape notes. Someone else said it reminded them on big league chew, I can agree with that. Almost past the finish line, excited for this last week!
The last week was a bit of a whirlwind but they’re chopped and drying now! I would probably have had them go another week or so but travel plans for thanksgiving kind of forced me into a semi early harvest. Trichomes are good and cloudy, though! Plant #2 started showing signs of foxtailing in the last couple days, possible light stress since she was tall and only about 4 inches from the light.
Flushed the last day with 2 gallons plain h20 each and their EC’s lowered to about 200. Probably screwed the flush part up but it’s a topic of debate anyway.
First time harvesting was a lot of fun. Wife trimmed the fan leaves while I hung em up in the tent. These nugs were blowing our minds man, just huge and frosty and thick. Excited to try and dial in a really great dry and cure. The tent is at about 53-57% RH and 64 degrees. Would prefer the RH a few ticks higher but it’s been bone dry around here lately. From a glance it looks to be a bountiful harvest, what a great first grow and excited for the next!
Well that was fun. First time delving into the homegrown world and I’m officially hooked. Following the cocoforcannabis nutrient schedule and method, I ended up with 200 grams of dry bud and an extra 40 grams of trim/larf for edibles. I may have had them in the dry tent for a day too long, the hygrometers in the jars have settled around 54% RH, but they feel pretty damn sticky and moist to me. Been toking the larf and the high is really nice, definitely smoother than anything I’ve gotten from a dispensary. Can definitely taste the 🍇 and I’m excited to see what a little more cure will do. Already have my seeds ready for round 2, thanks for checking out the grow!
Que buena onda! Se ve muy sano todo allí dentro, no hay nada mas hermoso que esa sensacion de acercarse al cuarto de cultivo y sentir el dulce aroma que nos hace salivar. Felicidades por tu grow y mucha salud para las niñas! Irie
