Today I started a new run. I chose the 4 plants that performed well over the last two grows. These were super frosty and I enjoyed the terpenes and effects. I am going to focus on fewer branches with denser buds and trying to ensure they are not underfed heading into flower.
The first #fastbuds run was during the winter and super challenging to maintain Temps in the old shed. Despite all the challenges, I pushed out some of the best buds I have ever grown. The Fastbuds plants are resilient and performed well.
The last grow I focused on keeping nutes low to see how the microbiome would bolster the nutrient regime. A hybrid approach. Although yields may be low, I can tell you the smell of these plants is pretty good and they have not even cured fully.
Now, I plan to build on the last two grows. I haven't decided if I will increase nutes by 50% or 100% to see how these plants respond. I might try to find a way to further bolster the microbiome with additional supplements.
Seeds started 11 September in paper towels. Moved to soil on 13 Sep and started to emerge on 14th Sep. They are fast
Seeds broke ground 3 days after starting them in paper towels. Sep 14th is start of week 1 veg. This will be the last @fast_buds test for these strains. It has been a great experience and I have grown some of the best buds that have been well received by friends and family. Look forward to future opportunities with these or other top end genetics.
I managed to dial in Temps a bit better this week. Was struggling to keep above 18C for first week, but the addition of 100w ceramic lamp has kept Temps above 22C and hitting 26C on warmer days.
I also decided to start a light feeding this week. The last two grows I was very light on feeding throughout the 12+ weeks, so I want to see how things go with at least a 50% increase in nutes compared to last summers grow.
10 days above soil for pictures.
Everything is looking good. I started feeding them a little earlier and a little more then my last two grows. They seem to be responding fine to this. Temps are fine and humidity is a little high but I will correct this when the time is right.
Pictures are 27 days from seed and 23 days above soil.
Hybrid nutrient approach with organic Gaia Green and inorganic General Hydro amoung other supplements. Yaboie
Everything seems to be going well. Lots of vertical growth, branch development and 2203, which is Strawberry Gorilla, is into full flower while the others are just finishing pre flower. I upped the P and K this week and aimed to keep N about the same, so they can stretch and keep pushing out those calyx and pistils.
Pictures are day 34 from seed and 30 days above soil.
Everything is going well. A light defoliation and removing smallish and shaded branches. Light height had to be adjusted. They put on over 10 inches this week and all plants are pushing out lots of pistils. I tossed more P and K at them and added NPK bloom microbes. Let's go
A good week. Strawberry Gorilla is stacking hard and filling out nicely. The others are a little behind in flower development, but 2207 and 2211 are also starting to fill out nicely. I removed many of the small lower branches and slightly defoliated. I am going to keep a few fan leaves to act as a nitrogen source as they finish out their last few weeks of flower.
Pictures are 43 above soil and 47 from seed.
Strawberry Gorilla and Tropicana Cookies are really fattening up nicely. Lots of white pistils and stacking calyx. The sugar leaves are getting quite frosty. Some deficiencies are showing up. 2207 is nitrogen deprived with a few lower leaves turning yellow, but this seems to have slowed since I fed Wednesday and today (Saturday). 2203 which is StrawGorilla is showing signs of calcium deficiency but understandable seeing as how fast this plant has been growing right from the onset of flowering, which means I likely didnt respond fast enough with supplements. No real problems and things are looking great.
I am doing two feedings a week at the above concentrations, with some dry nutes being provided only during one feeding.
Pictures are day 51 above soil and 55 from seed
Strawberry Gorilla: Chonky
Tropicana Cookies: Purple and tic
2207: Frosty
2212: Frosty
I plan to taper back the nutrients going forward.

Fading happened fairly fast this week, which is fine as I am heading towards the end and when dried these faded leaves are much easier to remove. I noticed amber trichomes on older calyx and sugar leaves, about 10% amber. I have increased the dark period by two additional hours to help these plant finish off and will be doing 48 to 72 hours darkness before harvest.

So, I have spent time with this plant and I am working towards comparing the winter 2022 grow to the fall 2022 grow.
Winter 2022: Strangely I noticed some similarities between 2207 and 2212. Both seem to have that floral or herbal smell with some wood/earth smells on the back end. The earthy musk aroma is alot more prominent in this plant. The vapor is a little less herbal upfront compared to 2212 overall. A more herbal and earthy balance and this flavor remains somewhat consistent at mid and higher temps. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit more linalool or humulene in this strain. I am leaning towards like a Purple Kush, Purple Chitral, Hindu Kush lineage....but I am fulllll of shite
Another super frosty plant that gums up the grinder. A little harder to pull on the vape because the plants are so trichome covered they tightly fit into the airizer stem. I really enjoyed this plant and will finish comparing it to the fall 2022 grow over the next little while.
