2nd round growing this. Last grow wasn't the smoothest but she was a heavy yeilder. So figured let's give it another go. Giving dwc a go this go around.
Well she is growing. The leaves are wierd. Though this isn't the first I've grown that started out like this. I have had 3 previous that started out this way. Think it's the genetics because they were all from the same breeder. Going to do a side by side. Same strain and same room. One in dwc and the other in water only living soil. Want to see which goes better for me.
She's pluggi along. Nice fat leaves more so than the last seed I popped of these. Had a few mutations on her first leave but they a form normally now. It's weird, she seems to be growing on one side more that the other.
Man did she shoot up over the week. Did some defoliation and lollipoped her. Going to install a screen next week to scrog her. Everything looking good and healthy.
She's doing super well. Dwc is a bit more work than living soil but it definitely works well. She definitely an outdoor cultivar judging by it's structure and growth. The huge leaves and quick growth all kind of point to put me outside. Wish I could. Love to be able to grow 8 foot monsters outside. Anyway going to flip her to flower in a week or two. Can't have her getting too big inside.
Had to flip to 12 due to space. She got big really fast. I feel like she would be excellent for an outdoor grow. I do regular defoliation. A couple leaves a day sometimes more some less. Typically remove any covering bud sites and any inward facing leaves. She has started showing a deficiency. I think nitrogen. Pretty sure I stopped veg nutes too early. I'm changing the water in the reservoir today and adding in last week of veg nutes.. So hopefully that'll remedy it. Can't wait till she starts to show. I'm only going to just this grow as I have done a 3 lst in a row. Want to see how it effects the final product. Then figure out a combination of the 2 I'd like to incorporate into my grows.
A week into the light flip and still no sign of flowering. She needs too. I'll be out of room if she continues to veg. I tried the foop nutrition line for a week and ended up with a deficiency. Went Beck to the general hydroponics line and that corrected it. I did some pretty heavy defoliation this week. She bounced right back. Shooting for less cola's but bigger sized one with this grow.
2 weeks since the light flip and still barely showing signs of flower. Looking like soon though. She just want to be a tree of a cannabis plant I think. I defoliated 2 to 3 times a week. Just lower leaves that are shaded and any ones covering bud sites. Growing well so far. Better the the previous 2 of this cultivar. Though those 2 must be from another earlier generation because their genetics we're as stable
She just keeps getting taller and bushier. Hopefully she stops the growth here soon and focuses her energy to those flowers. I think this will be an excellent haul judging by the size, structure, and amount bud sites. I have been rotate her about an eighth every day and defoliate that side. Usually between 10 and 15% of the total fan leaves. This cultivar is definitely more leafy than my mimosas I running. I will need a lot of trimming when done.
Would have loved to grow her outside. She wants to be a giant. Just started really flowering. Judging by the bud site and structure; I should have the largest haul I done to date. Figure 2 months till she's finished. Dwc definitely has good morning result still more work than I want to do. I think I. The future I'll just use dwc for auto flowers. The quicker grow and instant access to nutrients I think would fit better than a photoperiod.
She's slowly bulking up some buds. Looking forward to seeing the yield on this guy as so far this is the largest plant I have grown to date. She's drink about a gallon a day. No issues so far been a pretty standard grow. She definitely has some odd genetics. Most of the fan leaves have between 1 and 3 instead of the usual 5. And they are staggered vs the central point at the bottom. Definitely have to spend more time trimming because of it .
She's a damn bush right now. Wish I could grow her outside. She'd be a damn tree. Doing super good. Start to bulk up on flower. This should get a really good yield as long as everything continues to go well. Thinking a month at least till harvest. Loving the results of dwc but not the extra work. Going to keep it in my repertoire though. Think I will do autos from here on out in dwc. And living soil for photos.
She's a beast. Drinking a gallon a day. Probably my best grow so far. Pretty happy with my first dwc grow. I try and defoliate it a bit every day. So many leaves. Better not than when trimming all at once.
Can't wait for harvest. Thinking another month of flower. Think she's done stretching and now time for the fattening. Very happy with this grow. Had quite a few genetic quirks but she's growing big and fast
She's coming along very nicely. Just waiting for her to finish up. Figure in about 2 weeks and she'll be ready. She been drinking about a gallon a day. No signs or stress. Will have to wash when I harvest. Fruit flies from the worm bin go stuck in the trichomes
Think she is just about ready. Hoping to harvest this weekend. If she keeps up the same progression. Definitely like the results from dwc. She grew big, fast , and frosty. Will definitely keep in my arsenal. Think I will do autos in dwc and photos in soil. Happy growing all.
I have had this before. Nice mellow high, relaxing, happy and content feeling. Though I have smoo this particular pheno of it yet. Still drying in the tent. Grow went really well for my first dwc grow. More work than I want to do for photos. Think I'm going to do autoa in dwc. Remove some of the limiting factors
She was a big one. Bigger grow for me to date. Came in a 5lbs wet weight. And super sticky. Hopefully I'll get a pound dried. This cultivar would do really well outdoors. She wants to grow big.
@Brewer1112, I do according to instruments and instructions. but I don't use сalmag at all. I think micro has both calcium and magnesium but I'm not sure. I understand what you mean.but never used well water. I also really dislike bacteria and organics in the DWC. this explains why you use the cleaner
@ArthurStotch, for city tape water it pretty much filter of most mineral and the chlorinate it. That the reason why you have to wait right. I'm not on city water. The stone a d ground filters the water but all those minerals it picks up as it's filtered. That why my ppm is so high out of the faucet. I'm keeping the grow and bloom low at first. Since I haven't used salts much and more specifically this brand at all. I do plan on tamping up them here this weekend when I changed out the reservoir. The nutrients schedule I found called for a 1/4 tsp per gallon which is about a ml. Howich do you add?
@Brewer1112, I understand. I don't use well water. I use 1 week old tap water. Less than 200 ppm. that's why it's strange to me that you give such small doses of fertilizers but so much kalmag and micro. and you have a very high ppm of well water. just take it from the tap and leave it for a week. but the truth is, I don’t know what is in the water from the well ... it seems to me that there is enough calcium there. for example, my fertilizers advise to bring the ppm to 200 with micro and then give equally micro bloom and gro. at this stage.
I think you will have to do this sooner or later because you won't fit in 1500 ppm in bloom. I have water 200 and solution 500. only micro gro and bloom
but the important thing is to be persistent. DWC is definitely worth it
