This setup is the same as my first grow, please see that grow for more details.
Seeds are now in the towels with ph’d water and a couple drops of 3% h2o2 (hydrogen peroxide). I will update with a few pictures.
Both seeds sprouted within 24 hours on a heating pad and in Tupperware. Both were also out of the soil the next day.
After both seeds had surfaced and showed some green I started feeding a mild 200ppm solution 2 times a day with a couple hand waterings mixed in.
Week one was uneventful. I basically just upped my feed ppm to 200 and let it go auto watering 2 times a day for the week. I also upped my lights to 15%.
I’m still trying to think up names for these two but for now I am just referring to them as left and right sides…
Left side is a bit smaller than her counter part right side. Even though they have had the exact same treatment. This happened to me last time as well so I am interested in how they will compare later in the grow.
I also included some more pics of my space. It will get more stuff as I need them, I.e. dehumidifier/heater/etc. possibly a co2 bag.
So starting week 3 or week 2 of veg. I upped my feed schedule to 4 times a day as well as upped the ppm to 550.
Decided to finally named the plants. Left hand side is Amy and the right is Rose. I have been using doctor who characters for my plant names 🤓.
Well it’s day 17 and rose is looking really good and robust. Amy on the other hand is still a bit small and looking like she has some sort of deficiency. Even though both plants have been treated the same. I am going to just keep doing what I am doing and hope she will catch up in time. She is slowly looking better and better.
Other than that I am hoping to start my LST at the end of this week. I will update this week as it progresses.
This actually about day 11 after sprout and starting veg. With that being said I did start a little light LST on rose. My last grow I had a similar issue where one plant was half the size of the other of the same strain. It made flowering awkward in my setup. So I am really going to concentrate on keeping rose as close to the same height as Amy. I’ll use LST as much as I can then I will be scrogging them as best I can.
So going over the calendar and photos, September 19th would be first day of veg. That being said today would kick off week three of veg!
Dialing in my tent environment and finally got my heater and dehumidifier set up with my controller. I am aiming for around 78f and 55-60% humidity. My lights are running about 400ppfd. So far so good after a few hours of playing around and letting things settle.
I am hoping to get my C02 bag in a week or so this way I can boost some temps and lights.
I will try to update daily when possible.
Day 16: mixed 6g’s of nutes at 652ppm and a PH of 5.9. Plants are growing albeit not as fast as I hoped or compared to last grow. But they are growing so that is good. Did a little more LST on both plants this morning. I am really focused on keeping them as low as possible. My last grow got way to tall for the tent. Trying to not repeat that.
Day 17: I seem to have a slight nutrient issue with Amy the runt. Her lower leaves are curling downward and I am seeing small yellow spots become visible. They also seem to be becoming a little brittle. I am assuming this is an N overdose? So as a precaution, and I don’t know if this will help, but I flushed her with a gallon of PH’d RO water. I also diluted my reservoir from 650 ppm to 590 in hopes of helping her and not hurting Rose the other plant due to both of them sharing the same reservoir. Any ideas, answers, questions on this?
Day 18: Amy is recovering and today will be a test day to let them grow not much to do.
Day 19: still not much to do so I let them be after a little LST
Day 20: I have to work today so maybe I’ll clean the reservoir out and stuff later tonight.
Say 21: Last day of week 3!!! My last autos started flower in week 5 so I am getting excited.
Checked the reservoir and it is holding well at 595PPM and a PH of 6.25 (keeping it a bit high for more calMag uptake for Amy the runt). Amy is still showing signs of pretty good new growth albeit on the small side. But she is hanging in there. Rose on the other hand is a thickum hard to train her so far. So I think I’ll leave her be for a bit and then do some bending and bondage. I do plan on scrogging these as heavily as I can during stretch. This is reported to be a 65% sativa so I am expecting some height during early flower.
I took some runoff from both plants today as both the trays seems pretty dry for just being watered 30 minutes prior to me checking in on them today. Rose runoff was 700PPM and a PH of 5.7. Amy was a bit different with 620PPM and 6.0PH. I flushed them really well with solution to try to get them evened out. I also raised my fertigation times from 1min to 1m 20sec. I am hoping to get a bit more runoff doing this and keeping them a bit more stable.
Week 4!
Well day 1 of week 4 is here. Typically this means the plants will or should start flowering late this week or early next. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Day 22: late last night and this morning I cleaned, rinsed, and refilled my reservoir. Yesterday I snapped a pretty nice branch off of Rose 😡🤬 she seems to be coping with it fine so far. Amy is still showing signs of recovery and growth although the growth is still a bit smaller and slower but she is maintaining. I also did a bit more LST today.
Day 23: Nothing to do today except check the reservoir do some minor adjustments and very minimal LST on both plants. Noticed my reservoir dropped almost a full point in PH l, I will have to keep an eye on that.
Day 24: Did some harsh LST this morning. I say rough because I am not graceful and ended up ripping some leaves lol. 🤷♂️🏻 I am noticing that the new growth nodes are finally starting to alternate, my girls are going through puberty. 🤪 Checked the reservoir this morning as I always do. It’s starting to climb over time again so that’s a good sign. I added about .25ml ph down to keep it around 6PH.
Day 25: Other than some LST this morning, I will be adjusting my feeding intervals from 1 minute to 50 seconds. I am going through more solution than I should be and runoff is a bit much. Exciting news though, found my first hair on Rose, which, means week 5 will be officially week 1 of flower for me. Amy is making a come back and seems to almost be stretching. Might up my lights from 400 PPFD to 425-450 today as well and try to get to 500-550 by weeks end.
Day 26: Gave the ladies a haircut late last night and they both bounced back by the morning. Nothing much else to do today.
Day 28: last day of week 4 and time to start flower mode next week. I am already seeing some pistils. Disinfected and cleaned the reservoir today. Filled with 12g of late veg nutes. I’ll be topping the reservoir with some flip to pistil nutes for the next week or so.
First day of flower and week 5! Starting with my late veg nutes this week but every reservoir top off will be my flip to pistil solution to acclimate to flower nutes. This is as follows.
Armor Si. 5ml/g
CalMag. 4ml/g
Micro. 2.25ml/g
Grow. 2.25ml/g
Bloom. 2.25ml/g
Diamond Nectar 2.5ml/g
Terpinator. 8ml/g
Day 29: I will be doing some more LST today to keep them under control, I’m sure I’ll have to setup my scrog sooner than later. We are defiantly starting to stretch.
Day 30: did some of what will probably be the last LST I’ll do and some light defoliation. I think I’ll setup the scrog nets sooner than later. I’m just to heavy handed for LST… lol When I checked my reservoir this morning it was sitting at like 4.8PH and the PPM went up a bit to almost 700PPM. I think I have a bacteria bloom or something. Which really sucks because I just cleaned and filled it. Not sure what to do about it so I adjusted the PH and I’ll run as much of it as I can through the plants today. I’ll have to redo all the cleaning and disinfecting soon.
Day 31: Nothing to do today but flush some solution through the plants to try and use up the funky stuff after getting into a good PH zone of about 6. Installed two scrog nets. I did two because the holes are so big I wanted more spots to tuck under. I am going to try and not LST as much as possible since I keep breaking stuff.
Day 32: So late last night I added my scrog netting. Amy is defiantly not as far along with pistils as Rose, apparently she is a late bloomer. Other than making sure my reservoir is at the correct PH all the time I’ve been just letting them be now.
Day 35: last day of week 1 of flower. Took a few days off and didn’t do much but quick daily checks and tucking under the nets. I have to do it almost daily now. Amy was looking a bit pale the other day but I think my PH made a pretty big swing up. Fixed that and made sure my PPM was 650 or below for now.
See you next week!
2nd week of flower is starting today.
Day 36: Today was pretty tame, adjusted reservoir to 5.9PH. I tucked the plants u see the scrip as best I could, I am running out of room so I might just have to let them start working vertically. I also did some defoliation today, mainly to open up the centers just a bit. I think I am going to have another staggered harvest this grow. Rose is showing more and more pistils, where Amy just isn’t. Amy seems to really really want to stretch. Last but not least I upped my lights to about 625 PPFD.
Day 37: Did a little more leaf and scrog tucking today. Also, made sure my reservoir was within PH range. Adjusted from 6.1 to 5.9PH. I am still not seeing much in pistil department on Amy so she will get tucked a bit longer perhaps. Rose has new pistils everyday so I am thinking she might be good to let go vertically.
Day 38: well I’m still tucking both plants at this point. Pulled a few under leaves as well. I refilled the reservoir with early flower nutes today as well. 12 gallons at 650PPM and 5.8PH. Lights are at 650PPFD.
Day 39: had to top off the reservoir, so I did it with early flower nutes. PPM 650 PH 5.8. Did some scrofulous tucking and that’s about it.
Day 40: The only thing I did today was a tuck a couple branches and adjust my reservoir PH back to 5.9. Tomorrow I might do my first major defoliation since stretch should be almost done.
Day 41: Did what to me was a lot of defoliation but after I was done it looked like I could have done a lot more. Other than that not much to report.
Day 42: making some flower nutes to top off the reservoir today. Did some minor leaf cutting to open up some other bud sites. Last day of week 2 of flower :)
Welcome to the start of week 3 of flower! Remember I do daily updates so hit follow and check back daily.
Day 41: Nothing much to report today. Just the daily check on the tent and reservoir. Hopefully we will be mostly on auto pilot for the next few weeks. PH 5.9, PPM 660, 78f, and 60%RH
Day 42: I will be topping off the reservoir today but other than that there isn’t much to do today. Fun to see how bowed the score net is. Nothing is holding those plants down :)
Day 43: Today I did a little heavier defoliation on Rose and Amy but mostly on rose. I wanted some better airflow and open up a few lower bud sites. I refilled my reservoir with flower nutes late last night. PH is staying at a good 5.9 and PPM is at 650.
Day 44: Making more water today for nutes. I am going through way to much nutes for two plants. So I cut my fertigation time from 1 minute to 50 seconds. One reservoir should last me an entire week, but I have to make sure I am getting adequate runoff. Rose is starting to flower nicely so far, she will start stacking in a week a least. Still waiting on Amy to show more signs of flowering but she is late to the party. Looks like she is about 1-1.5 weeks behind Amy. Which blows my mind as this happened to me last grow with the plant on the same side of the tent. We will keep an eye on her.
Day 45: Nothing to report worked all day and I only PH’d the reservoir. Amy still isn’t flowering yet…
Day 46: Still not much to report today sort of on auto pilot. Amy still isn’t showing signs of flowering which sucks but she is growing so hopefully I’ll get a good yield off her.
Day 47: Last day of week 3 from flip. Amy is still not flowering but looks like she might soon. Fingers crossed. See you next week.
Welcome to the start of week 4 from what I am guessing was flip or when I first started seeing pistils. I update daily so follow and check back often.
Day 48: Cleaned and disinfected my reservoir and tubing. Filled reservoir with early bloom nutes about 12 gallons at 650 PPM and a PH of 5.9. Amy is still stretching and no sign of packing on flower yet, even though it really looks like she wants to.
Day 49: Removed the fan and filter today from inside the tent. I put them in the outside and reversed the fan direction. I had to do this because my lights were at max height and I need all the room I can get. This exact same thing happened last time on the same side of the tent. So trying to get ahead of it.
Day 50: All I did was PH some and pull a handful of giant fan leaves. Amy is still stretching with little sign of stopping. Rose is flowering nicely and getting pretty frosty.
Day 51: Found out my reservoir pump was not setup properly and not turning in when needed. I did a 1.5 minute watering to wash any salts built up out. PH’d my red to 5.9. I also did some under canopy cleanup and defoliation blocking some grow sites. Amy finally looks like she wants to start flowering more now, hopefully her stretch is about done. Sativas…
Day 52: Refilled my reservoir with 6 gallons early flower nutes and another 6 gallons of mid flower nutes. I’m trying to transition to mid flower by end of next week. PH 5.8 PPM 700 with terpinator. Pretty much will be on auto pilot for the next few weeks except for pictures and quick daily check ins to make sure everything is ok. Amy is starting to flower up nicely and it’s about time. We will see how she produces. Rose is still swelling up and should be stacking by next week. She is getting nice and frosty.
Day 53: On autopilot just took a couple quick snaps and PH’d the reservoir to 5.9
Day 54: I got super sick with a 102 temp so didn’t do much except check the reservoir and remove some leaves.
Beginning of week 5 since first pistils. Remember I update daily so check back and follow.
Day 56-57: I have been sick so I missed a day. Refilling reservoir today with mid flower nutes. Took a few big fan leaves from Amy. Still on autopilot of sorts. Just waiting for the flowers to start fattening up and stacking.
Day 58: Amy is still flowering but the pistils and bud sites seem really really tiny. It will be interesting to see what she does given her height and stall size. Rose is still chugging along putting on weight little by little. I have been trying to give her as much light as possible. Other than that just took a few quick pics and checked the reservoir which is holding at 5.9ish PH.
