Started off good. For my last single plant grow I decided to try my hand at mainlining this time, so it will be a slightly longer veg time than usual. Ended up being out of town for several days, so growth slowed greatly due to being under watered.
After being severely under watered last week she has bounced back nicely. Decided it was safe to top at this point. Probably should’ve left some of the lower fan leaves to help it heal quicker, but after an extra day or two new growth picked back up.
Just letting the plant recover for several nodes after being topped. Between that and the stress early on, wanted to give enough time before topping again that growth wouldn’t be slowed as much.
Got it transplanted into its final container, and the two mains tied down. It has been topped twice and you can see the four mains coming up. All other branches are cut off so all the energy is focused to the four main tops. I’m leaving most of the fans leaves to help with recovery, as these will be topped two more times before flipping to flower.
Growing just fine this week. Going to tie down the 8 new tops tomorrow. Was going to top again for 16, but I’m thinking about only topping half, and getting 12. Any thoughts on this? Also noticed the left side of the plant seemed to be growing quicker than the other. Turned out one of my light hangers had slipped and the left side of the light was almost half an inch closer than the left. Not sure for how long, but I raised it and lowered the right side closer. Going to leave it like this for a day or so, hopefully even things back out.
Letting the plant just grow and recover this week. Did some LST middle of the week and it has really responded well. Not sure if the added veg time to top again and go for 16 is worth it. Have to decide quickly on that.
Final week in Veg. Made the flip to 12/12 last night so she’s finally in flower. Could have flipped a week sooner, but I was debating on topping again for 16 mains. Decided the added time in Veg wouldn’t be worth it so 8 it is. Last time around this strain almost tripled in size during the stretch so I’m anxious to see what she does here
End of the first full week of flower. No more training and won’t defoliate for another 10-12 days. Letting the plant grow up to the light instead of moving it 6” closer overnight. Began introducing phosphorus last feed, only small amounts at this time. Also lowered the nitrogen content, but won’t cut that out completely until end of week 3.
Couple days late with the update. Going into the third week of flower and final bit of vegetative growth. Being an indica dominate, I overestimated how much she would stretch and probably shouldn’t have lollipopped where I did. Couple other things I made note of and will change next time. Overall, I’m pleased with how she’s coming along.
Finished with the stretch now. So far, humidity control has been great and the trichomes are really starting to add up. For only three weeks in flower, it’s definitely one of the stronger smelling plants I’ve grown. Since I only removed a couple of the larger fan leaves blocking bud sites, I’m going to do a final small defoliation at end of next week.
Did a final defoliation this week. Really opened up the center, so I decided to leave a few larger fan leaves on the outside. Really getting frosty now! Carbon filter is a lifesaver because whew, she smells LOUD!!!!
Good week of growth. Buds definitely starting to swell up. Photos are of day’s 29/31/34/35 of flower. Counting from Day 1 of 12/12 light cycle. MSNL says 56-58 days so she should have around two weeks left. Gonna do one last bloom feeding tomorrow, and micro nutrients once more after then plain water. I like to use a small amount (less than half the recommended) of PK 13-14 to really give them a boost in week 5. Use with caution!! As it’s not always a good idea to mix nutrient brands, I don’t feed anything else for that week and very little. Extremely easy to burn the plants due to its high concentration.
Buds have swelled to a nice size. Maybe 10% of the trichomes have turned amber so not ready yet. I’m going to guess another 14 days and she’ll be coming down. They way my feeding schedule matched up with the days, I’ve decided to do one more very light feed. Mostly micro nutes, then start the flush middle of this week.
ONE WEEK REMAINING!!! Buds are really getting dense. Started the flush already so just plain water now. Unless they’re just not ready, will be chopping her down next weekend.
For some reason I completely forgot what week I was on and did another really light feed, so I ended up starting the flush 5 days later than expected. I believe it was a lucky mistake because based she’s not ready to come down yet anyway. Looks and smells fantastic! Buds already feel super dense! Lowered day and night temps to 75° and 67° which is really helping to bring out purple colors. The humidity levels are 40% and then drop to 35% at night for the remaining week for a little boost in trichome production.
HARVEST TIME!!!!! Chopped down today! Went a week longer than planned but everything worked out great! Waited 5 days after my last watering to harvest. 66 day flower. Wasn’t expecting to see so much purple! Learned a ton about mainlining and my ocd LOVES the symmetry! Pretty cool for a plant that was only 3.5 inches tall when I flipped to flower and great if you’re limited on vertical space. 4’ would have been more than enough. I will be making another post, after drying/trimming, with the final yield.
Nice and solid dense bud. A 21 day cure, or longer, will really bring out the sweeter almost candy like aroma. The high will come on fairly quick and make sure you’ve got some free time because it’ll give you serious couch lock
@ClydeGrows, next grow will be under their new led KS5000 bar light. Was gonna go with a spider farmer SE5000 but then Viparspectra dropped their new line. Figured I had to give it a try. I’ve got two 300w and two 450w lights. All Viparspectra.
