West Coast OG - one of the FastBuds Originals. Strong classic Kush aroma with a pleasant 21% THC content.
This is my 2nd run of this strain. I very much liked the taste and effects as I have tried her the first time.
Seed is one year old, stored in a fridge at 4°C.
Our germination week was not exactly 7 days long:
- placed her between wet paper towel and in a bag 12 days ago
- seed opens and shows 1-2cm of root 2 days after. Placed her in a coco cube under 2l dome
- after 2 days she drops the shell - 8 days ago
- after 1 day she shows first root out of coco cube. Placed the cube into IWS Oxypot with expanded clay, still under 2l dome
- spraying the bottom of clay substrate with pre-veg solution for 5 days
- 2 days ago shows first root out of clay substrate. Filled Oxypot with 10l pre-veg solution and switched on air pump, removed the dome
- today came 4-5 new root ends out of clay substrate
First roots grown long in meanwhile, approx. 30-40cm long strains, there are new ones shooting as well.
I keep spraying her everyday.
I am going to switch solution to growing diet for next week. Probably will also add some light fungi/bacts mix into spraying solution.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 50% = 120W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
+17cm gain in height
Spraying 2x - 3x a day, it also helps to keep RH at 45-50%. Added Alfa Boost by GrowsArtig in spray solution
I didn't have to refill nut solution, she ate altogether approx. 3l in this week.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 50% = 120W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
+33cm gain in height, started to smell
RH raised +10%
Keep spraying twice a day with AlfaBoost
Going to refill the pot with pre-flowering solution for next week
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 50% = 120W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Height: +30cm
RH: +7% (in average, ranges from 55%-75%)
Started mild defoliation, removed weak side-side brunches and some fan leaves
Going to switch to flowering diet for next week.
Will stop adding Vulvic acid. Probably will stop to spray and start to add Alfa Boost into watering solution instead.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 50% = 120W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Stopped stretching.
RH dropped -10%.
I have read a recent article here on GD and was convinced to get a lux meter. A smart investment, not for everyday use but I think a must have for general setup and for checkups between the phases.
Increased lamp power by 25% and reduced distance to plant, got 30-40k lx for the top colas. Going to increase lamp power to 100% for the next week.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 75% = 180W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
She actually has gained another +4cm in height.
RH dropped by another -8%.
I have increased power of the lamps to 100%. Getting ~60k lx on top in the middle and ~35-45k lx in average.
Going to maintain same conditions for next week.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 100% = 240W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Most of fan leaves have turned yellow and are removed.
RH ranged 35-70% in this week, tendency is getting more dry.
Smell is strong and beautiful. Ripe mangoes and lemon so intense, I like it a lot. Requires good filtration though.
Going to switch to final parts diet (ripen) for next week.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 100% = 240W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Some of top leaves have burned.
I have reduced lamp power to 75%, now it is 90W per lamp. Average and top temperature and RH goes down.
She smells very strong and amazing like mangoes and lemon. Partially there is a lot of dried stigmas already but there is also a lot of new stigmas everywhere.
I am going to switch to flash and clean water in next week.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 75% = 180W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Reduced the lamps to min power.
RH continues to decrease, all of the fan leaves have dried and been removed.
Want to give her an extended flash this time, will continue to flash and slowly reduce light period.
Oh boy, this baby is a very stinky one - it is amazing odor of mango/lemon with strong hemp glue.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 25% = 60W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Kept the lamps at same schedule at min. power, continue to flower.
Checked trichomes under microscope - there is a ~50/50 mix of cloudy and clear, no amber at all yet.
I have cut small, low buds, despite unripe and dry them at 22°C at 50% RH.
Continue to flash and get bud ripe.
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 25% = 60W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
Buds are not getting much bigger or heavier anymore but trichomes changed to most milky now - good time for harvest.
I have cut and dried the 2nd batch in this week and curing it at 62% RH.
I have vaped a bit of cured buds from 1st batch and well, yeah I like WCOG a lot!
I made some mistakes with this girl so we get not the max yield this time, well let me harvest the rest of her and check the scale soon.
Happy growing all!
[Setup]
- Tent: Sticky Experts 1m x 0.5m
- Light: 2 x Sanlight Q3W dimmed 25% = 60W
- Pot: Nutriculture Oxypot Single filled with 10L solution
A very strong start, very thick brunches and a lot of thick roots in the vegetation phase.
Problems started by early flowering phase - she started to yellow and lose (fan-)leaves very fast and a lot. Also the roots have got issues at the same time. I think possible reasons could be:
- too high dosage of nutrient for pre-flower and flower phases
- gradual light power increase was good but maybe I should keep it longer at 180W (75%)
- I have extensively used spray and abruptly stopped by start of flowering - maybe I should gradually start to decrease spraying earlier to prepare her for the change
Although we couldn't unfold full potential in this grow, by the end of the day there is nothing to complain - a good amount of favorite weed with a lot of purple flowers and a bit of mind blowing extracts! Satisfaction.
Thanks everyone, have a good one!
