Using Blimburn seeds this round for the first time. Excited to see how they grow! 24h soak then into 500ml pots for a couple weeks. Also made a few changes in the tent, new TerraBloom filter and placement in tent, fans, watering system, etc.
So far so good. Just been giving little water when required, and will be for the next couple weeks until up pot to 30 gallon. Blended soil mix this week
Gaia Green Living Soil
Earthworm Castings
Sea Soil Compost
Perlite
Dolomite Lime
Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-4-8 @ 70/30
Water
Still making small adjustments with the tent, but pretty well got tolerances set. Also got the drip set up for when things take off. I will still be hand watering the top dressing in once a week and to keep the mulch layer damp
Up pot one time from 500ml pots to 30g pots, dusted roots and hole with “Xtreme Gardening Mykos” and watered in. Water usually comes out of tap with a ph of 7 and less than 10 ppm TDS, but I haven’t checked in years. I leave it sit for 24hrs aerated and use it straight out 30 gallon Brute can. Looking good so far

6 nodes tall, topped at the 3rd and cleaned up underneath. May be a bit on the cold side, may have slightly overwatered? Not sure, but still growing and colour is looking ok.
Week 5 day 31 Topped and LST. Grew out 4 nodes on each of the 2 branches. Topped at 3rd, cleaned up growth tips below 3rd, and left all leaves for maximum growth as they do not shade the now remaining 4 tops. Used the same anchors to LST and pull down the branches that are still flexible. Gave a very light, and I mean very light watering just around the base of the plant where the soil is exposed with no mulch. The soil moisture is still good from the last watering 5 days ago. All kinds of symptoms were showing up and things weren’t looking good a few days ago, and ultimately boiling down to the lights being to close. I knew after installing a 2nd TSW2000 that I’d have to turn them way down, I wanted better overall coverage over the canopy, and I did to 50% at 30”, but that was still to much even at their stated seedling height. So I now have them at around 30% at 30” and that seems to be money. Once I made the correction, growth quickly returned to normal. Happy growing:)
Soil mix a bit strong but they seem to be growing through and adjusting well as the roots go deeper and plsmt gets bigger. Just a bit of tip burn and curl on a few leaves but seems to be growing out of it now. Lights a very strong…that’s for sure! Dimmed way down. Watering when required
Conditions are ok, 76f, 55rh, good airflow and circulation. A little cool in the lung room, but I’m working on it. It is winter in Canada and freezing conditions outside, so heater is on struggling to keep up as we are in a cold snap. I have to adjust the exhaust controller to shut off at set low temp rather than running it at idle. Also, cold weather equals dry air so humidifier is also getting a workout. Now that I’ve gone from watering every 10 days to slowly increasing to every 2 days, I’ve hooked up the drip and will start hand watering now only once a week. Work in progress, little here little there, and do what I can between making money and spending time with family:) Thanks for the read and view. Happy growing!
Flower time! Plant structure and training completed, grown out as big as I’d like for this round. Can still move branches around as she stretches out. Turned TSW 2000’s up, around 60% for now and observing for any negative effects. I’m really liking how these Blimburn genetics are growing out so far, nice internode spacing that’s increasing as she stretches, not too much but enough for good light penetration. I’m not going to allow many secondary branches to grow out this round. Don’t want it crowded in there this grow, going for fat hard colas…hopefully. Top dressed with Bokashi gro-pro, earthworm castings, and watered in with Gaia Green soluble seaweed 0-0-17. In a couple weeks will top dress again with 4-4-4 & 2-4-8. Thanks for the views and Grow On!
Week 2 Flower is going well. Pretty well cruise control from here on out. Topped dressed with Gaia Green 2-4-8 and watered in with Soluble Seaweed Extract. Didn’t bother with the 4-4-4 as these 30 gallons have lots left to offer, and I topped dressed last week with Bokashi and EWC. Will defoliate after the stretch when the time comes. Canopy is filling in good with some secondary branches stretching through and are as tall or taller than some mains, though pretty even throughout. What doesn’t reach the top of the canopy will be pruned off to avoid overcrowding when I do selective defoliation. Allowing to grow into lights up to 24” then raising to 30” and will continue until stretch is over, then keep around 24” after stretch. Lights are at around 60%. Hooked up drip at the beginning of flower as that is when intake and frequency increased from every 12 days at the beginning of grow, to every 2 days right before flower. I still hand water once a week for top dress, otherwise the drip does a great job for consistent and thorough moisture content. It turns on 4 times a day and I have been increasing duration that it’s on during those time accordingly, started at 1 min, and now at 3 min 4x a day. Thanks for the views and have a great grow!
Week 3 flower and looking good. Didn’t stretch that much but I find when I grow them out like this that the secondary growth stretches the most trying to get to the top. Cleaned up underneath the trellis and some big fans that were blocking light to bud sites. Also removed any secondary growth that was spindly and touching any other branches making it crowded. Increasing drip as required to keep moisture even. Hand watering in Gaia Green soluble seaweed extract 0-0-17 once a week. Thanks for the views and grow on!
Happy Holidays! Week 4 flower and not much to report. Didn’t do anything special, just water from drip, about 1 gallon over 24hrs. Drip turns on 4x during lights on. Light seems to be hitting everywhere fairly even. 2x TSW 2000’s are at about 75%, 18-20” from canopy. I might turn them up to 100% and see how they react for the final push and then turn them down again nearing the end. I will also top dress again soon for the last time. Fungus Gnats are around but I wouldn’t say it’s an infestation, just got to put in a few more traps and I think the “Grub Grenade” is taking care of the soil. There is a 2” layer of straw mulch to help keep them off the surface comfortably. Sour Diesel genetics from Blimburn are strong, thick branching, frosty, sweet & sour smell right NOW, nice internode spacing for light penetration required less defoliation. Thanks for the view! Keep calm and grow on!
Week 5 flower going well. Nothing much to report. Increased the drip as she is taking in more water. Turned up the fans to 100% for maximum flow, and due to that, the tent got a bit warmer and a bit dryer so the exhaust fan and humidifier are working a bit harder. 75-77 deg F, 50-60% RH. Not sure if the lights are to intense or if it’s purple coming through, but at the highest tops there seems to be a bit of discolouration on the newest growth, just at the tips of the new buds. But I’m looking really close and it may be purple, not brown. I’ll keep an eye on it and turn the lights down if symptoms worsen. This plant is growing strong and getting chunky. Hopefully she keeps growing well until the end. Thanks for the views…keep calm and grow on!
Week 6 flower, half way there! Buds are starting to fill in now and getting some decent frost. A couple of tops are getting more light than others, and fattening a bit more and looking real nice. It looks like there is some purple starting to come out at the tops. Also spotted some discolouration on a few leaves closest to the light, so I turned the one light down to 60-75%, no need to push it at this point and burn her up! She will go as fast as the soil and environmental conditions will allow her to. Hand watered in Gaia Green Soluble Seaweed Extract 0-0-17, otherwise water drip is running on same schedule. Just using straight tap water that sits in a 30 gallon reservoir with a submergible water pump running 24/7 breaking surface and aerating water. Water comes out the tap @ 7ph and less than 15ppm. So I don’t do nothing to it, I drink it:) Thanks for the view 🤜 Have a great week!
Week 7 is finished, end is near, 3 weeks to go. Nothing much to report. Fungus gnats are bugging me for sure, but the plants seem fine. Need to get them under control after this run. Lights are at 18” dimmed to around 65%, hopefully for a measurement of about 650 ppfd. They were at 75%, but plants were showing signs of stress so I dimmed them. Just watering using tap water, not ph’d, through drip on a timer. Hand water once a week with Gaia Green Soluble Seaweed Extract 0-0-17. Light still breaking through canopy in spots. Lots of leaves, but not much bud sites below. No need to remove big leaves yet. Thanks for the view, happy growing!
Week 8 flower and the Sour Diesel is still fattening up and looks like about 2 weeks to go. Going to swell good I think. Lots of frost and getting thick. Turned the lights down now to 50% and they seem to be happy with that. Still just water through the drip and hand water once a week. Gnats suck and need to take care of them before next grow and do a better job moving forward. These TSW 2000’s from Mars Hydro are awesome and with two of them side by side are more than enough for this space. Blimburn Sour Diesel are turning out really good and smell like gas and are strong on the nose! Thanks for the view
Week 9 flower is coming to an end and the Sour Diesel still has about a week to go. I could chop it down now with no complaints I think, the heads are mostly cloudy, no amber, but I’d like these foxtail like growths to fill out, if possible, now that they popped out. Think I had the light intensity to high and far along into flower and that’s why the GG#4 had a few nanners pop late, just displayed the stress in different ways, but what the hell do I know lol 😂. Flowers seem hard and dense but look a little weird with foxtails and the tips are stretched strangely and can see a bit of the centre stalk on a few lower and further from the light. The foxtail growth is also happening lower down as well which makes me think genetics, I dunno? Stripped most the large leaves that I could easily get at and just watering still letting the soil stay a bit on the dryer side, but consistent. Steadily lowering the humidity the best I can and manage, but it’s a bit difficult as I took down the humidifier to clean and get ready for harvest and got the dehumidifier going, but got another cold snap coming through and it’s dry outside and the house heat is running, don’t have a clean filter for the humidifier now, trying to get it right, right to the end, but Mother Nature is making my unnatural grow difficult lol. Thanks for the view and long read if you made it to the end! Keep calm and grow on!
Week 10 is coming to an end and the Sour Diesel is ready to come down. Faded, but not a great all around fade. Hard to get a good look at her with all the foxtails, but at 70 days of flower, I think she’s good. I do believe I had the light intensity to high and far along and that’s what caused the foxtail growth. Also when I took a peek the other day during lights off I thought I could see some light coming from a surge protector power point, I did duck tape it, but maybe not good enough. I’ll have to deal with that! The buds did grow big and fairly hard besides the foxtails. Got to do a better job on the canopy next time. Defoliate and prune lower growth more as well to eliminate the lower loose bud sites. Buds are frosty and smell sweet and sour, citrus. Lowered temps and humidity near the end and dimmed the lights. Backed off on the water to allow more of a dry out period in between waterings. Harvest update next after the dry and cure, so final entry in a few weeks. Thanks for the view!
This plant grew strong and responded well to my training. The bud sites that got good light were big and hard. I didn’t have the light intensity dialled in, and that resulted in fox tails, but not too bad and quality was still good. Must continue improving my defoliation skills for better light penetration. Lower bud sites I’ve been pressing into Rosin. I’m happy with the results and haven’t even been into the good stuff yet as I’ve been pressing the larf. Thank you to all that viewed, commented, and liked!
