I had germinated these seeds 2 weeks ago. I got these banana punch seeds from a friend a while ago and never used them.
Have a little experience with growing before, but this is my first own attempt.
Got myself a tent + mars hydro TS3000 and wanted to experiment a bit.
I have never grown on coco before so that is also a first, same for LED lamps.
Looking forward to see how this will work out.
Started topping yesterday, Noticed that one of the regular coco girls had a small "defect" on the 2nd group of internodes, left her alone and now see that the next group is shooting out 3 main cola's.. Curious to see where she is headed from here =)
Other then that nothing much really, still giving the same nutrients up to about 200ml per plant per day.
My biggest coco plus girl started to show 1 odd looking bright spot on one of her leaves, seems like it's nothing to worry about. The rest of them all looking and healthy.
Did not really have time to do more training then I wish I had. Will focus more on it this week. Upped the water a bit and started adding call mag every other feed on top of the regular nutrients.
So far so good, although the ones growing in normal coco soil seem to be falling behind a little
Had a little nutrient burn which is visible on some leaves, still looking good though. Found a good balance for nutrients for now. Waiting to trim them until they have recovered a bit more from the last topping.
I think I will keep them in veg state for 2/3 more weeks by the looks of it. Also smell is starting to become noticeable :)
It has been very interesting so far, funny to see the results of different ways/techniques with the same plant. Few issues but nothing major yet. switching to flowering in a week
Did some late defoliation (and pruning) like 2 days into flowering, Hope it won't hurt them to much. Started adding Canna Boost to the nutrients. Can't wait to see If and how they recover and go from here.
2nd week flowering, starting to see the white hairs clearly now, giving me something to be very excited about, it still amazes me how much these girls can do in just 24 hours. Starting to look even healthier on top as well.
2 fans (1 intake 1 out) both running on speed 7 full time, plus an actual (small) de-humidifier that I bought to keep the humidity (barely) in check. Need to find another solution for this though as the volume only keeps increasing.
A little late in the 3rd week, did the last defoliation on all of them, 2 of the 6 seems to be a little behind, but other then that I am very happy with the results, Very nice looking hairs visible already, smell getting stronger by the day. And it get's more exciting every day when I open the peek window ^^
Just now had my last day of PK 13/14 in my feeds. I only feed them every other day right now, to make sure they they are thirsty, this way I have fed them a total of 8 days (4 feeds) with pk 13/14.
See the buds developing nicely, Maybe a bit more popcorn sites then I'd hoped for, But for a first test batch I think this went really well.
3/4 more weeks of flowering, will start lowering the EC next feed, and start flushing in like 2 weeks.
Buds starting to fatten up, 1 more week of regular nutrients and I will start flushing. Really happy with the results so far, smell is getting very strong as well!!
Buds starting to look fatter and fatter! Still very happy with the result so far, few more feeds then start with flushing. (decided they can use a few more feeds and shorter flushing, 1 week)
So far so good, Smell is getting very intense at the moment. Started flushing today.
Really can't wait to hang these upside down 🙏😇 For now they are barely "hanging" in there, they are getting heavy AF haha. leaning on the sides...
Hang in there ladies!
2 of them already started flushing, the other four are still getting boost for at least a few more days. Won't be long now, buds still fattening though!
They have not fully cured yet, But so far are very tasty! Have not had any problems training them, they respond well. Very fruity taste already (and earthy) but curious how much stronger the taste will be in a few weeks.🙏
For my first grow I am very happy indeed! It gave up a lot more weight then expected. put all plants in different bags/pots so they can still cure for a few weeks.
Too bad it was a 1 time experience with a custom strain, I don't have more of these sadly.
Taste is fruity and earthy, very smooth as well, uplifting, definitely a strain you can start your day with :)
Also interesting to see how 6 seeds from the same strain all turn out so differently.
All in all a good run. 😎
Congrats on win buddy, I have no problem being 2nd best 😀. I mean I'm amazed i even stood a chance nevermind placed. Hopefully your enjoying it around here as much as I am. Funny to because the 2 strains I narowed down to do on first run was Purple Punch, and Banana Purple Punch. Hope you enjoyed your harvest as much as I did too.
@greenAF, Good to hear! It does take some time, but the extra weeks are worth it. Glad to see you are enjoying yours. Thank you, and congrats on your grow as well! Cheers!
@greenAF, Thanks bud, Same here, This was totally unexpected haha. But the joy is what we are all here for I assume ;)
I sure did enjoy the harvest, currently traveling, can't wait to smoke a fully cured one when I get back home! All the best!
