Hello growers.
First week of flowering and everything is going pretty well.
I keep on bending and tucking those branches, exposing good bud sites to the light. For such a late stage both plants are very bendy and they bounce back very very fast.
Under the net I keep a moderate defoliation or lollipopping, removed possible bud sites that would never cross above the net and some yellow old leaves. RH dropped slightly since the lollipopping and both plants started to consume much more water.
As you can see in the pictures both plants are showing their first pistils, which is very good since they have precisely 7 days of 12/12, and usually plants can take 10 to 15 days to do so.
I'm very impressed with Malawi Gold, she was always the worst looking plant, didn't matter what I tryied, leaves always droopy, burned tips, but since the repoting and the training she is doing really well. She is drinking quite a lot, I dare to say 1 liter every two days, which is a considerable amount for pre-flower.
I'm not planing to do any more defoliation in the future, but around week 3 I might open up the space a little bit, make the environment lighter and allow more air to circulate better.
I did a flush when I changed the feeding values to pre-flower, and will do so again when I change the values to flower. Added GHE Bio Roots around the first week after repoting and now added GHE Bio Bloom to help kickstart the flowering stage.
That's it for now.
You probably already know, but the Velokelp has some silica in it already (mono silicic acid). Not a big deal, but interesting that they have in the kelp product.
Good luck on your diary. I will follow along.
@@SanchoPanza, According to the remo nutrient website, velokelp does have some mono silicic acid (.06%). https://www.remonutrients.com/product/velokelp/
Maybe the website is wrong. They change formulas from time to time.
@Oozle, hey my friend! Thank you for checking out my grow! The velokelp I have is the ready to use foliar spray 1 -1 -1 (a sample that my grandmother gave for easter). It doesn't have silica, in fact it has 0.6% Ammoniacal Nitrogen / 0.4% Nitrate Nitrogen / 0.79% Humic Acid / 1.3% Kelp Extract and 0.9% Kelp extract derived from Ascophyllum Nodosum.
