Great week as you can see. It's starting to take off. Yes they were Spidermites. Used neem oil and she looks better. I think the move to full sun completely also helped. Cya next week.

Hi, Had a ppm test that was too high to register. The guy said wash my soil. I said maybe it's high due to being a 7 gal pot and it's really testing unused soil. I really had to flood it to get water for test. Then after rinse I can start my suite Leaf routine. Any thoughts ?

Hi there! If your runoff EC is higher than the initial EC from your waterings, then you have a salts buildup somewhere in your soil. You don't have to flood it all to get a proper test, you can water verrrry slowly on a single location (on the outer border of the container) you'll see the water pour out at the same location you did water without flooding the whole container. There's no need to over-water it to test the EC, but you'll probably need to flush the medium for a couple of days, to get rid of its toxicity. I hope you'll figure this out, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Test your soil? you mean watering until runoff? My meter does the same when the runoff PPM is higher than 10.000 and I've never had problems since the soil I use has a lot of nutrients, just be sure not to feed until the plant has exhausted the nutrients in the media, you will know when the plant starts to show the first signs of deficiencies, which can take a while with 7 gallon pots.

Hello ! So what was that ppm test result in ppm ? If the ppm/ec was too high you should flush your soil a bit but your plants looks healthy so I would only give are some water during next week(s) until your next ppm test is at the good level. Flush (rinse) your plants at that early stage could be a shock to her and her young roots system. Keep an appropriate Ph range around 6.2~6.5 . I hope it will help you 😁👍

PH was 6.5. All tested between 6.5 & 6.7. He recommended using pH down. I was wondering if the unused soil helped raise that some. And may don't need it. My PH from the tap is 7 so I haven't been adjusting it since it's close and I'm in soil. I'll put up the next week that finished yesterday. Than see what everyone thinks. I have the Suite Leaf nute set. ( 7 in the set) . And not sure if I should use anything. I also have botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom Soil Formula ( says Natural and Organic. Which I got from another hydro guy telling me I needed it, even in soil, I panic for a sec then buy it. Then later when at home i remember I didn't need it so i swapped it for the bloom soil formula. I did it again and now the proud owner of pH down. Then after thought I did it again. May not be bad in case I need it one day. So not sure when to start or which to use. Going for as organic as possible. Suite Leaf say 4 are totally organic, 3 are very close because of a couple synthetic ingredients. Keeping it from being able to be called organic.

@Stick, Hi, I tried to use as little water as possible to get it to drain. Actually though I don't think it's ever been so wet that it put out any runoff. I water in small amounts 1-2x daily. Depending on the temp. It's been between 104-110 degrees Fahrenheit the last 6 weeks or so. Maybe had a 98 once or twice. I hit it a little heavier every 3rd day if needed. How would I get a salt build up ? I'm growing in 2 parts FFOF & 1 part Happy Frog. Then cut it with 1/3 Coco/ Perl. I was worried the Coco may dilute the nutes. I've added nothing at all. Only sprayed Neem oil on the plantv2 1/2 times. So that's why I think it's unused soil hurting the reading. But I'm a clueless newb to PPM/EC testing. I just want to figure this out asap since it's time for flower foods. Actually my smallest plant C4(FastBuds) had a reading of 954.
