Started having some leaf issues at the end of week 6, defoliated, gave medium/heavy feeding of big bloom. Going to start flushing with distilled water for a few days and see if any improvement, only fan leaves affected at this time. Day 45: checked ph of soil, showing 7.0, just ordered some fox farms ph down should be here in 48hrs Day 49: bought a reliable pH testing pen and found my distilled water to be 9.5! Mixed up some spring water/nutes/pH down at 5.8/5.9 . Hopefully this does the trick!

Grow Questions

Plant has one leaf that is yellow on one side, and shiny/dark and curling up on the other side? From what I've read those are 2 opposing issues (light burn or nitrogen deficiency/or toxicity) the others are pretty much uniform, Could this be from getting water droplets on leaves?

It's a nitrogen toxicity, you can noticed the red stems (meaning that N avoid P absorption) :)

What's up with these fan leaves? I'm starting to notice some light brown hues in a couple, mostly closer to the bottom of the plant. Anything to worry about?

She wants less nitrogen, and more potassium. She is consuming the potassium from the leaves like when fading. I would definitely check your substrate pH as well.

So I started getting light purple/yellowing last week, after my last grow question, I landed on potassium deficiency. I gave a healthy dose (2 tbsp in a half gallon of spring water) of Fox farms big bloom (0-.05-.07), within the last 48 hrs and the purple looks worse? Any ideas?

It's your substrate ph. Which is causing the deficiency to show the roots can't absorb it. It's wanting the potassium. I will do you.

Leaves look a little overladen with water, 2 things drive photosynthesis, amount of light and temperature within the leaf or LST leaf surface temp, photosynthesis runs optimally at 85-86, set ambient temp to 80 ish and drop light until top of canopy reaches 83,84,85 ish but never higher.

In a perfect world, you would want to start in a much smaller pot, transplanting at least once preferably twice over the grow, a big airport can hold a gallon maybe two, what little you are feeding gravity will quickly bring it to the bottom out of reach of small roots, drop that light, drive on with photosynthesis, water well and often until your rootzone is more developed.

I haven't given it anything nitrogen rich since week 3 (1tbsp of 4-4-4 gaia organic as soil topper), the only thing I feed it right now is fox farms big bloom which is 0-0.5-0.7. not sure if it's nute burn taking out the fan leaves or lack of something I don't have... Only time will tell
