The two plants are looking really healthy and developing quickly. They are stacking nodes at short distances and flower site branches are growing out from under fan leaves fast. Expecting the plant to grow up in height over the next week or so.
Nutrients ratios are per 6L of water not 1L
They have really popped up this week and there is now some white pistils developing off the main stem and starting to get up to the flowering sites. Expecting to start changing to early bloom nutrients by end of week or start of next depending on formation of bud sites.
Also have set up netting for flowering stretch. Probably only end up 60-70cm’s but i want most of that to go sideways and then up to help expose a night flat canopy without topping.
Nutrients concentration is for 8L of dechlorinated water (200 EC)
Girls are looking good. I set them up in Autopots so i can see how things go for a few weeks before i go away for Christmas (only a few days).
Gave them a bit of a defoliation and moved the branches around under the net to help spread them out for air movement and light penetration.
Pistils developing well all over now and a weak smell coming in. Might have a couple days of stretch left otherwise it’s been a big week for growing itself out for flowering!
Well this week was crazy. Finally resolved the Ph issue in the autopot system and things are running steady at 6.0 everywhere. Got to this before any major problems occurred.
Plant has continued to stretch, putting up another 3-4 inches this week alone. I’m assuming we are at the end of stretch now though.
She has many bud sites and has been stripped on the bottom 1/3 of fan leaves and popcorn bud sites.
Plenty of white pistils showing and now looking to start fattening buds and developing lots of trichomes.
Hoping defol is now over, maybe just one or two leaves if blocking light or air movement or touching bud sites but nothing major.
If you need any tips with autopot before you get started send me a message, happy to help!
They are looking good. Smell is coming up now and it’s that Afghan-type heavy musky, earthy indica scent that i love!
Buds are forming well and putting on size now. Plants look healthy overall. One is doing better than the other but will still produce some good flower for extracts.
Day 55 of approx 70
Plant on the right has had a really slow-burn issue since the autopot issue we had earlier. I will be able to get her through to end of flower and will use this plant for extracts and edibles. The buds are still coming along well, just not quite as fat as the healthier plant.
Other than that, we are moving into the fattening/maturing/ripening stage and should be looking to flush around day 65 (28th Dec).
We will be using Terra Aquatic ‘Flash Clean’ and ph’d water for the flush and that should be complete in 4-5 days tops.
Smell is nice and dank with that afghan spice, lime and mint in the air just like the breeder describes.
All in all to date this strain has been really easy to grow, sturdy and can put up with a decent amount of stress without herming or really slowing growth.
The smoke test will be the defining factor
Just got back from a week away so we are at the end of week 7F and 2 days into week 8F at the time of this post. Next post will be in 5 days for end of week 8F.
Wow. After not seeing these bad girls for a week i can see immediately that they have easily put on 3x their original size and weight, maybe slightly more.
Stank is rich and beautiful but not pungent that it gives you a head spin. It’s nice when a breeder describes it the way you grow it and you feel like it’s all going well and also excited as you’re getting what you were looking forward to!
Trichomes everywhere! Can’t touch this stuff, i can’t un-stick my hands after!! I am really keen to try this stuff. We are going to start flushing at the end of W8 if we see what we like.
Should be a nice little haul too!
The final few days ladies and gents.
Day 71 at the time of post. Plants have been on plain water with the flash clean for 1 day already. Flash clean claims to be good for a 2-3 day flush instead of 7-10.
Expecting 2 more days tops before we give them the chop.
Buds are very dense and very very sticky. Scent is much stronger now and is delicious and rich as per the breeders description.
Pistils are 85-90% orange/light brown and curled in.
Trichomes are cloudy with 10-15% amber, another 2 days should bring that to 30%ish and that’s where i’ll harvest.
Not much of a fade on show, but there are some spots on leaves showing now.
Really excited to get this drying and curing so we can sample. I will post the final weight as the harvest week so might be a little while between posts.
Thanks for following along and keep your eyes open for the final dry weight.
This was a wonderful offering from G13 labs with Dosi auto producing dense, large buds that are covered in trichomes with wonderful aromas of pineapple, mint, pine, lemon and that hint of dank goodness that almost resembles an afghan indica.
She grew strong without hiccups and one plant with a little issue, but the plant was really hardy and pushed through nicely. They also responded well to defoliation.
The plant grew to the height noted by the breeder and was not an issue for pests or mould or anything like that.
I am in the process of drying (3 days in) and am looking forward to the smoke test for which i will come back here and edit this post to report on. I will also add photos of final trimmed buds and a dry weight for each plant.
All in all i highly recommend getting your hands on some of these beans and running them with your next grow! You will not be disappointed.
The harvest was good and plentiful. We have two beautiful plants both with big juicy buds that are very dense and covered in trichomes.
Cutting fan leaves off and hanging in the closet with some gentle air movement and carbon filter to remove anything from the air we don’t want while drying.
Dry weights posted soon.
@Ned_Schneebly,
I love the smell while growing it. It’s very intriguing and the hint of pineapple and lime gives it a tropical feel, especially because it looks like it’s covered with so much resin it could be mistaken for coconut 🥥
Lovely plant
