Ran into PH issues that ruined my last grow so I decided to start over. Bought a BlueLabs PH meter and will be buying a PPM meter before first feeding. So second times the charm! Trying 2 plants this time. Both are ILGM OG Kush autoflower. Growing in a 18x18x56 grow tent. Using 4in ac infinity inline fan for active outtake, and a 6 inch oscillating ac infinity fan. Using 3 gallon fabric pots and Soil in pots is as follows: Bottom 1/2= 75% strawberry fields, 25% perlite, 1 1/2 tbs dolomite lime Top 1/2 = 37.5% happy frog, 37.5% ocean forest, 25% perlite, 1 1/2 tbs dolomite lime. I added dolomite lime to the soil mix after reading up about PH issues in fox farm soil. Since PH was my main issue last grow I added it to see if it would help. I treated the pots with 1/2 gallon plain ph’d water to 6.3. Seeds were germinated in a paper towel and sprouted after 1 day in the soil. At the moment I am spraying the top of the soil lightly anytime it looks dry. Humidity domes will be used for about 2 weeks until the plants establish their first node or two. 150w Viparspectra xs is set to 60% at about 20inches. Will drop it to 18 and raise to 75% slowly over first two weeks. I learned a lot last grow, and hope to take this one all the way to harvest. Any tips or comments are greatly appreciated.

I have two seedlings just a few days old. Both under same conditions. One looks perfect, one looks a little curled and deformed. Anyone know if this is an issue? Or just a minor mutation?

Decided to get rid of the mutated seedling. Just wasn’t keeping pace, so I decided to chuck it. The remaining plant is doing great so far!!! I gave her a full water at day 7 (9 days since original watering). I added 1 ML silica, 1 teaspoon fish shit, and 1/2 teaspoon recharge. Ph’d to 6.3. Gave her a bit more than half a gallon until a bit of runoff. Humidity has been high here lately so I took the humidity dome off as well. Light is still at about 20 inches at 50%. I will begin to raise power at the end of week 2. Temps are consistent at around 75 degrees during lights on and 68 during lights out. Any tips or advice are always greatly appreciated!!!

Should I LST?? I’m growing ILGM OG Kush auto flower. I know I probably should, but part of me wants to just let her rip and see what happens all natural. However I’m in a small tent (18x18x56) and the website says the plants usual height is about 40 inches. What would you do?

I believe your Light distance for flower is 14". So pending how the plant reacts your looking at 10-18" away from the canopy. Add in the height of your pot guessing 8"? That gives you 30-38" plant. And that's considering your light is mounted to the top of your tent. Training is definitely recommend.

Hey everyone! Currently on day 15 and the plant is looking really good at the start of week 3! I started LST on day 12 and already see the side shoots making good progress. Put a second tie in just to hold a leaf down that was shading the main stem. Took off one fan leaf that was in the way. I’ll continue to defoliate as the plant continues to grow. Haven’t watered since day 7, so I should be giving her a watering over the weekend. Let me know if you have any tips! Updated some pics of the continued LST. Plant growth is really taking off. Needs to be tied down almost everyday. Will start to manage the side branches soon when they are tall enough. Continuing to LST, but I’m starting to run out of room in the pot. Also, the compression of the soil has made this little wall around the plant which I’m not thrilled about. However, the side branches are starting to take off, and once they are high enough I’ll use the holes in the pot to tie them all down and trim everything around the main stem. She’s taking off so we should see some good growth at the end of this week and next week.

The plant is growing like a weed at day 22! Should have planned a bit better with the LST. The plant got too big to keep tying down to the soil, things were getting a bit cramped. So now I’m letting the main stem grow up a little and will tie it to the rim of the pot. Side branches are still working up, but no need to tie them down yet. Last time I grew this strain it started flowering around week 4 so we should see some signs of pre flower and the beginning of the stretch near the end of this week. Haven’t started full nutes yet. Will most likely do one more water without nutes before feeding her. Day 24 - Did some light defoliation and continued to LST the top of the plant. I cut off the sides of the pot to get the air flowing better. I also gave the plant plain ph water. And she seemed to perk up nicely. I need to make sure not to underwater, especially now that she’s getting bigger she’ll need water more frequently. The plant continues to grow nicely, I expect her to start to flower by the end of week 4 or beginning of week 5. Day 26 - plant has been doing well. Gave her another watering today. I plan to water again in another 3-4 days and start full nutes. Started tying down side branches to keep the canopy level. She is starting to show sex in a few spots. Flower will most likely start soon.

Things are getting a bit cramped with my LST. Some fan leaves are buried under others or are on the ground. Should I trim some lower fan leaves to give it room to breathe? Or should I let it rock as long as they are not blocking any light?

Yea, go ahead and do some defoliation so the plant can breathe, it won't hurt it at all, just don't take too much off.

Day 29- week 5 starts today and the plant looks great. I’m continuing to LST and defoliate as necessary. I plan to start using Gaia green nutrient line during the next watering which will probably be in the next few days. The plant is showing sex, but still not flowering, I expect she’ll start to stretch out any day now. Any tips or comments are always appreciated! Day 31 Started feeding today. Added Gaia Green nutrients and watered with fish shit and molasses pre phd to 6.5. I added all amendments at a ratio of 1 tablespoon per gallon of medium. I mixed bloom and all purpose at a 80% bloom - 20% all purpose ratio. I’ll switch to 100% bloom next feed.

Unfortunately I overwatered and immediately after the plant started showing a deficiency. The plant has been healthy until this so I’m thinking it’s related but not sure. I’m sure the PH is good, So do you think this could be related to overwatering or is it just a deficiency?

The cause for the small dots are the very first signs off a calcium deficiency. Let the soil dry out between waterings. When the top layer is completely dried out you can give water again. Never give water closer then 5cm to the plant to make sure that she still has acces to oxygen. Never give more then 10% from the pot volume with water and from the next watering use a small dose with a cal-mag supplement.

Day 37- the plant is still trying to recover from a pretty bad overwatering about a week ago. I increased circulation and gave the plant a week to completely dry out. I gave 1/2 gallon of water phd to 6.5 with fish shit and recharge yesterday. The plant responded well from the watering and perked up a bit but deff not 100%. Not sure how long she will take to recover. After the overwatering the plant showed a bunch of weird deficiencies. Rust spotting on leaves appeared quickly, but has stopped as the pot dried out. However now the plant is very light green, possibly needs nitrogen. But I fed with the last watering and the Gaia green should be starting to break down now. Possibly didn’t give extra nutes soon enough, or the overwatering just locked up the plant. Either way she seems to be improving. I’m not sure if the plant is in pre flower, she was showing sex, and then the overwater definitely slowed her down. She’s back to showing sex on her smaller branches and I believe she’s entering pre flower. The plant has a weird purple/maroon color on the tips of new growth. I thought it was nute burn at first, but after looking closely it is definitely not burned, just a strange color. Not sure what it is a sign of. Almost went the whole veg without a mistake, but she’s still looking ok. Any tip or comments are always appreciated! Day 40- plant has definitely perked up! Maybe not 100% still but improving. Plant appears to be in pre flower and starting to stretch! I’m being extra careful with PH and water. But she is getting more thirsty and should need more water soon. Gave Gaia green about a week ago. I will be top dressing every 3 weeks, so I will be adding more in about 2 weeks. Will most likely switch to full bloom nutes at that point.

She’s shown some major stretching over the past couple of days. The bud sites have been as well. However, whatever deficiency she is showing is progressively getting worse. I checked ph and the ph seems solid. Last watering, plain ph water at 6.6 came out as 6.4 runoff. I gave Gaia green nutes about 15 days ago so definitely shouldn’t need to add nutes for another week or so. I think it is a calcium deficiency, but I am unsure. Also the problems with my watering earlier in the grow may have caused the issues I am having now? Still not sure However, this plant is officially 2 days older than my last attempt, and although not doing fantastic, is not dead and is way bigger! So I gotta enjoy the progress I’m making as a grower in general! Any tips or comments are always appreciated! Day 47- plant looks great after last watering. Looks really perky and did some defoliation to help her breath.

Deficiency my plant is exhibiting has progressed. I checked PH repeatedly, and it does not seem to be a ph issue. Gave Gaia Green nutes 2 weeks ago and nothing else since but fish shit with waterings. Had watering issues earlier in grow not sure if that’s the cause. Any tips/fix?

I use Gaia Green a lot and there formula is not fortified in magnesium, its got pretty much everything else but magnesium. I would recommend adding in 1/2 tbsp once a month or two of epsolm salts. Adding in some extra microbes if you don't already is also a great option, black strap molasses also goes a long way with Gaia Green in soil based grows but I see you all ready do this. I would only do it once a month as well to much sugar in the medium can cause some issues. PPS, if your using power bloom and all purpose, the only extras you need are worm castings, magnesium and some seaweed for extra K, or well this is what I find when growing with them. all the extras dusts can cause some sludge in the medium, maybe one add it once your mixing it up at transplants but they are all oxides and not readily available to plants and can take time to break down. In short, I thin you need a bit more magnesium and less rocks dusts. I am for 6.4-6.8 PH and have not been disappointed. Watering is also a great point to note, only as needed and allowing it to use up a lot of it before adding more. Plant looks good. She has been stretching a ton over the past week. I will be feeding in the next few days. The deficiency has slowed down tremendously, but she definitely looks hungry. I will give her a full round of bloom nutes and update afterwards. All tips and comments appreciated. Day 52 gave full feeding with gaia green nutes.

Day 57 - 21 days into flowering and the flowers are really starting to gain some size. I am still seeing what I believe is a K deficiency. Since feeding last week the plant has taken off but so many leaves are affected by the deficiency, it’s hard to say if it’s still progressing. I have been looking for a natural K booster and added 1 tsp of langbeinite to the top soil. This is 1/3 the recommended dose on the packaging. Watered with 1/3 gallon of ph water at 6.5 with recharge and fish shit. I have been watering less after watching a ton of videos on organic amendments. I am trying to water about 10% of the pot size and water more frequently to keep the microbes in my soil happy and healthy. Any advice and tips are appreciated as always!

Not sure how to go about this deficiency. PH is solid at 6.5 so it’s not a ph issue. It seemed I had corrected the deficiency when it first appeared a few weeks ago, but now the brown spots seem to be spreading again. I think it might be K but not sure? Any ideas?

Looking good, but really hungry! :) I'd feed calmag plus a normal NPK dose. Make sure it's suitable for the flowering phase, meaning less N and more PK, at your stage, you might want the highest number of the NPK to be the P. :) Good luck, buddy!! Just a word: with organic nutes, you will have an effect for sure, but you will always run behind those deficiencies. I would get some mineral back ups!
