Time to grow two of my favorite sativa strains from Barney's Farm (Liberty Haze and LSD). How I Grow - Coco Coir (fine & coarse) and perlite (#2 & #4) 70/30 mix in 5 gal. Smart Pot. - repurposed after every grow; add new when needed. - Manifold with ScrOG - Top at node 3 or 5 - LED light How I Germinate - Seeds are added to water (pH 6.0) container for 24 hrs. - Seeds then placed in wet paper towel inside container for 2 days. - Sprouted seeds are then added to rapid rooter cube and put in covered seed tray with compact soft white light (18/6) until seeds sprout out of bottom of root cube (3 days). Once roots grow through bottom of rooter cube, cubes are planted into coco coir pot and put under LED light (HLG 100).

Both girls are doing well and showing characteristic of their sativa and indica heritage. Notice the wide leaf pattern on both plants are typical of indicas. The internodes on Liberty Haze are much closer together then LSD. - Feeding Mon, Wed, Fri with nutrients (.5 gal/plant). Sunday the girls will get water only (1 gal/plant). - Daily water misting (foliage feeding)

End of Week 4 (11-12-22) Manifold training (type of Main-Lining) At the end of week 4, it is time to start training LH and LSD for a Manifold grow. This will require multiple training steps for the next couple of weeks. This will be extremely stressful for LH and LSD, but they are both vegging well and should be able to handle it. The next week it will be important to ensure the fundamental grow conditions (temp, RH, air movement, light cycle, nutrients) are maintained and followed. Step 1 I'll top both strains and remove all side branches (The side branches will be perfect to make clones and give away). Yep, I know this looks scary, but in the end the results will be rewarding. Clone bubbler set up - 3 gal container - Dome - Air pump & tubing - Air Stones - Neoprene discs - Hydro guard Add cuttings - fill container with 1 gal water & Hydro guard (pH 6.0), cover and turn on air pump. - remove all side leaves and branches of each cutting. - recut cutting at bottom to be at angle and remove outer skin of stalk. - put cutting in neoprene disc, place in bubbler (cutting does not need to be submerged in water), mist cuttings and cover with dome.

End of Week 5 (11-20-22) Liberty Haze and LSD have both recovered from last weeks wacking. The top two branches of each plant have grown long enough for some LST to get them into manifold form. Liberty Haze internodes are compact where as LSD internode spacing are farther apart. Saturday & Sunday (end of week 5) I bent and tied down each branch to encourage a wider grow. The clones in the bubbler are doing fine and should be sprouting roots by the end of this week.

End of Week 6 (11-26-22) Happy Thanksgiving! A lot of training and transplanting going on this weekend. Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD both having been doing well and are ready for some more LST. And, a few clones have rooted enough to be transplanted! LH has been growing very compact making it a little more difficult to train. However, she has grown enough for me to top the main top branches at node 5, defoliation, and tie down 4 of her side branches. Now, LSD's internode on the other hand, have been growing much further apart making it easier for me to do some LST. I topped the main top branches at node 7, defoliation, and tied down 4 of her side branches. The clones start showing roots mid week and by end of week 3 of the 8 clones were ready to be transplanted.

End of Week 7 (12-3-22) The end of week 7 has arrived and it's time to finish up the manifold training. I bent, tied down, and topped/fimmed all the main branches of the manifold. I also did a little defoliation, but not too much. Once I put them into 1st week of flower, I will do an aggressive defoliation. If all goes well, it appears LSD will be the higher yield between the two. Liberty Haze will still turn out a good yield, but not as much. The clones (2 Liberty Haze, 3 - LSD) are doing well. New growth is showing on all.

End of Week 8 (12-8-22)😀 It's finally here! It's time for LH and LSD to get ready for flower time. The training I did the last 4 weeks during veg have prepared the ladies to grow low and wide. Perfect for filling a scrog net with just a few plants. At start of week one in flower, I will do an aggressive defoliation, move them into the flower tent and lower the netting. During the next 3 weeks in flower, while the ladies are doing their stretch, I'll continue to guide them through the netting trying to keep an even canopy. I will do very little defoliation during this time. However, at the start and end of flower week 3, I'll do another aggressive defoliation and continue to guide. Note: This flower grow I'll be doing something a little different. Yep, I fell victim to Black Friday and bought a HGL 30 UV-A supplemental light. I plan on turning on the supplemental light around flower week 5. However, this is something totally new and if anybody has any suggestions or experience I'd love to hear them.

End of Week 1 flw (12-17-22) Both Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD have recovered well after last weeks LST and aggressive defoliation. They are claiming their spots! I managed their growth by weaving the branches through the netting as they stretch. LH is continuing to be a tight compact grow with less colas, but I'm almost certain they will big and dense. LSD, on the other hand, continues to show her dominance by almost claiming half of the tent during the 1st week of flower. For the next couple of weeks I'll continue to manage their stretch and try to keep an even canopy. I'll do minimal defoliation and maintain the basics: pH(6.0), Temp(74 F), RH(<50%), and TDS(1132ppm). Week 3 of flower I'll do another aggressive defoliation. I'll also turned on the UV-A supplemental light for 2hrs/day. I plan on increasing the duration each week by 2 hrs until it reaches the full 12/12 cycle (around wk 6). Tip: Calibrate your pH pen frequently.

End of Week 2 flw (12-24-22) Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD are growing vigorously. They are are ready for the aggressive defoliage that is about to occur during week 3. LH is staying true to the Indica phenotype with it's grow pattern (short internode spacing, stout size, and leafy). I will have to spend a little more time during defoliage to be careful not to cut a branch or Scrog netting. LSD, on the other hand, is staying true to the Sative phenotype with it's grow pattern (wider internode spacing, taller size, and not as leafy). I have also increase the UV-A light by 2 hrs to be 4 hr on 8 off. I will continue to remove leaves throughout week 3, but not as aggressive. I will let them tell me when it's okay to remove leaves. Note: I've started germinating Purple Ghost Candy (Seedsman) and Neville's Haze (Green House Seed Company) today. Once they sprout, I will placed in rooter cube and start diary! 😊

End of Week 3 flw (12-31-22) How exciting! We are heading into home stretch of this grow and all things are going well. Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD have recovered well from last weeks aggressive defoliage. LH has caught up to LSD in height but remains to be a compact grow in width. However, LH will produce some beautiful colas! LSD is just cranking away and has taken center attention (She's such a deva). Entering into week 4, I will continue to maintain the basics (pH, Rh, air flow, temp, etc.) and do minor defoliage. Not too much stressing other than some leaf plucking from here on out. I want the ladies to focus on bud production. I have also increased the UV-A light 2 more hours (8 hours on 6 hours off).

End of Week 4 flw (1-8-23) Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD are continuing on their mission to create nice buds. However, LSD is showing a little cal/mag defeciency, so I started adding CalMag to offset this issue. I'll continue to monitor and dose with CalMag to ensure LSD is happy. I'll continue this week with moderate defoliage and leaf tucking.

Yikes! I had an all of sudden emergency event this week which required me to be away from my grow for 6 days. I was able to ask a trusty neighbor to water the ladies for this week. Usually, this wouldn't be a big deal, but since LSD is having cal/mag deficiency issues, she needed more than just water. So, today I whipped up an immediate 2 gallon batch of nutes with Cal-Mag Plus and feed LSD immediately. I either removed the shade leaves/ or trimmed off many of the damaged areas. LSD's buds are dense and already getting sticky. Lberty Haze got 2 gallons of goodies too and some defoliage on shade leaves that had stretching stems. She is also producing some frosty dense buds and is getting ready for the grand finally. Lastly, I increased the UV-A light to follow the 12/12 schedule. Peace, love, enjoy tasty buds and happy growing!

End of Week 6 flw (1-22-23) We are cruising through this grow! Well at least it seems that way since we are only a few more weeks away from harvest. Both Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD are producing dense and frosty buds. They are also starting to show red hairs as the buds grow to connect with each other. LH is looking healthy and turning out to be a little beauty. LSD is still rocking eventhough she was dealing with calcium/magnesium deficency issues, but is on the rebound. The next few weeks these buds should fatten up and start swaying in the wind (what a beautiful sight and smell). Week 7 will be the heaviest nute mix for the ladies (to get big and strong like bull)! I'll have to ensure I don't give the ladies nute burn at this stage of the grow. Peace, love, grow frosty buds and be happy!

End of Week 7 flw (1-29-23) Liberty Haze and LSD are both looking good by displaying their large, dense and frosty buds. When the tent is open, the smell of the ladies are overwhelming and tantalizing. The buds keep on growing larger and frostier as they get closer to the finish line. Heading into week 8, I'll be feeding them with a lesser nute recipe and keep an eye on them. I'll be ready to start flushing once the buds let me know. Note: I've grown both of these strains many times in the past and they have produced dense frosty buds. This grow, the LED light set up is the HLG 600 RSpec light with a HLG 30 UV-A light(add on light attachment). So far, it appears that this grow the buds are frostier then previous grows. Even the shade leaves are getting frosty which will be great for making bubble hash! Good times are coming! Peace, love, grow frosty buds and be happy!

End of Week 8 flw (2-5-23) We have made it! Liberty Haze (LH) and LSD are almost at their finishing point. They are both looking and smelling really great. Super dense, frosty and sticky buds. The leaf to bud ration is looking like an easy trimming, but the scissors may have to be cleaned more often due to stickiness (good problem to have!). This week I'll be primarily focusing on flushing with pH'd water and removing all stretchy shade leaves. Since the growing medium is a 70/30 mix of coco coir and perlite, it's almost impossible to overwater. So, I'll be running 1 to 2 gallons of pH'd water on a daily basis to flush out all salts and remaining nutes. The heavy watering will also help rinse the coco coir for reuse on next grow. Peace, love, grow frosty buds and be happy!

Flushed with pH'd water 1 mll
End of Week 9 flush (2-10-23) Liberty Haze and LSD continue to look wonderful and ready for the plucking. They have been thoroughly flush this week with pH'd water and removal of stretch shade leaves. harvest (2-12-23) Wow, what a score! Trimming Liberty Haze(LH) and LSD is my least favorite part of the grow. However, exposing your had work for the last 4 months as you trim back the leaves is rewarding and keeps me clipping along. It took the weekend to trim them up and hang'em back up in the flower tent (62 degrees 55% RH) for slow and controlled dry (at least 7 days). These buds are large, dense, and sticky. The smell from Liberty Haze and LSD is overwhelming and stunk up the whole house(thank goodness, no unexpected guests). The trim wasn't too bad since the bud(95%) to leaf(5%) ratio was in my favor of bud. I'll report the dry weight in a couple of weeks. Man, I can't wait to taste and enjoy these two strains again!! This will complete my first Grow Diary diary. Now on to the other two! Peace, love, grow frosty buds and be happy!
