Been slowly bringing up the power of the light as they had experienced some light damage earlier on.
Temps took a sudden drop due to climate reasons bringing it lower then I had wanted. Will probably have to accept higher RH for a few weeks at least so I can maintain the heat closer to 26.
Plants where also repotted at the end of the week making them go from their starting cups to 7 gallon fabric pots.
Will from now on feed 100% nutrients and not 50% like I have until this point. But after a very slow germination process that most likely was caused by temps being to low, they seem to be picking up again.
The plants have done a good job recovering from the transplanting and have really started picking up in growth more.
Over the week I have lowered the lights from 45 to 32cm and increased the power to about 45%.
Lastly I ended the week by topping all 4 plants.
Started the week by giving the girls 3l water each and due to the humidity going up to 70+% without me being able to lower it, they didn’t drink the water over 7 days.
Been slowly bringing up the light as well so it sits around 40-45 cm above the plants to engage some stretching as after the topping last week they are really bulking up more and stacking nodes tighly.
Ended the week by buying a dehumidifier, and have managed to bring the humidity back down to 50-55% with temps of 26-22 degrees C depending on day/night cycles as we move into the new coming week.
I also did some LST on all plants except GSC #5 as she is too small.
Gotten the temps and RH more in control this week.
Lights on: 26 degrees C and 51% RH
Lights off: 23 degrees C and 56% RH
They showed some more signs of heat stress so increased the high of light to 48cm.
#5 is still growing slower then the rest and after a small amount of LST I have left her now to grow unimpeded.
The rest have continued to get heavy LST and by the end of the week I am only training their very tops to allow more vertical growth as their branches are filling their pots.
Gave 1 liter of water at the start of the week but as I think I am overwatering still I didn’t give anything else for 5 days.
I have now given them 5 liter each at 50% nute concentration to make sure the medium is fully saturated again.
Continued applying LST and had to start defoliating about halfway through the week.
They have recovered from that well so will continue to do LST for a few more days before I let them get a bit more hight and add the first scrog net.
As we will need to do delay our flowering switch, I need to maintain a good and low canopy so that they don’t explode and hit the roof by the end.
I’m giving about 3l per plant every 3 days and seems to be working fine. Still nothing draining, so I’m giving 2l from the top and 1l from the bottom to make sure it’s properly saturated.
RH and temps this week has been ish:
Light on: 26 degrees C and 50-53% RH
Light off: 23 degrees C and 53-56% RH
The week has progressed pretty straight forward.
RH and temps have been about the same as previous weeks, and I have overall just continued applying LST and defoliating as they got bushy again.
Ended the week by installing a scrog net at about 20cm as tying each stem is becoming super difficult with the tiedowns.
Been quite interesting week.
I removed the LST ties and will only use the net to keep the canopy down, I wasn’t able to access the pot properly to water with the tie downs.
This also ment that the plants jumped in hight to around 30cm
I also realised I’ve been watering like soil, letting it dry between waterings. After researching I have now corrected more to be in line with coco coir.
Gave 8l water to each to saturate and fir the first time got runoff, followed that up the next day with more to see how much they had drank in 1 day:
#7 - consumed 1,2l
#5 - consumed 1,8l
#4 - consumed 1,6l
#2 - consumed 1,5l
With the increased water, RH jumped like crazy and with my smaller dehumidifier, it wasn’t able to keep it under 60% and it started reaching 28+ degrees C in the tent.
Have hence engaged the big AC unit on drying, so that both pushed the RH down to 50-55% and temps to about 24 in the day.
Last note is that I personally have gone abroad for the next 3 weeks, and my flatmate is away for 2 weeks.
So during the coming 2 weeks, we are forced to be more hands off with a friend making quick daily visits to water, feed and do any tweaks needed.
Aiming to enter transition to flower when flatmates returns in 2 weeks.
As mentioned last week, both my flatmate and myself are abroad so a friend has been making visits. Hence why the photos are different from previous weeks.
Things have been going well, but without daily maintenance, they have shot up in hight, causing some concerns around the final hight when they are flipped into flower.
Another week where both myself and the flatmate have been away, but starting next week, the flatmate is back.
Hence on day 5 of this week, the flip has happened with timers being changed to 12-12 to start transition.
Before that however on day 3, our friends stripped all leaves under the first net, leaving only the top of the canopy.
As transition has started we will let them stretch for two weeks, and then as I will be back, I’ll go over everything and do a final pruning of everything that I don’t think will make it.
As seen in the photo as well we have added another black net in a effort to control the hight as they have been allowed to grow taller then intended during our absence.
Even though the flip has happened on day 5, I will still mark this week as Veg and start marking as Flower from the next week.
Last week with me not here, the girls seem happy still on the photos and videos I’ve gotten from my flatmate.
They are very very bushy so apparently it’s hard to close the tent, so will need to do some serious pruning when I’m back at the start of the week.
Update on day 2 of the week:
Retuned home yesterday so starting this weeks updates earlier as a status update.
I added raisers under Ak#2 and LD#4 as the 2 Girl Scouts had really started getting taller and overwhelming the other 2.
Went in and trimmed away almost everything that was below the scrog lines as that won’t make it.
As it was as well, no light was able to penetrate to under the canopy so those parts were always dark, and airflow was severely restricted.
I also discovered that the plants have been sitting in their runoff. So I watered them with 5 liter each with the full concentration by schedule at 5,8 PH and removed all the runoff to more quickly get new and fresh water into the pot instead of what has been reabsorbed.
I also increased the lights to 35-40cm as the plants were just 25ish cm above canopy, but I also increased the intensity from 55% to 75%, and will keep slowly now increasing to get to 100% eventually.
End of week update:
I have been feeding them heavily with 4 liters each per day to wash out buildup from them sitting in runoff before.
Feeding water was teated and is going in a bit hot at 2,5ms so been lowered day by day to 2,0 now.
Runoff was tested and was coming out at around 4,0ms, confirming the issue with sitting in the runoff, so with the heavy feedings and pumping away the runoff, it’s now down to 2,8-3,4ms.
Will feed 2 times a day instead of 1 time to keep lowering the EC value.
They drank very little for 2 days after my return, but seems they have recovered and are consuming about 1,5-2l per day.
Dear diary,
🌱GSC #7 - been very healthy, growing the fastest and was hence defoliated on day 23 of flower as she had started growing her budsites, showing that she has left pre-flower.
She is 85cm tall and has been drinking about 1,4 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱LD #4 - been growing at a medium pace and has by end of week 3 she is first now starting to get more white hairs. Will still wait a bit more until I do another defoliation to avoid any more stress atm.
She was generally overwhelmed by the two GSC strains but I have hope that she can produce some good bud.
I have boosted her to get her up in hight but she is 69cm right now and drinks 1,3 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱AK #2 - is also a shorter strains more like the LD vs the GSC. But her being shorter at 69cm is good as she is more light sensitive.
She was defoliated on day 24 of flower as she had developed a lot of hairs and felt healthy enough.
She has been drinking 1,2 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱GSC #5 - has been a lot slower than the AK and other GSC strain, but is finally starting to show more hairs at the end of week 3 of flower. Will however wait a few more days before defoliating to avoid stress.
She is 81cm tall and one notable thing is that she drinks 2,2 liters per day, a lot more than the rest.
Dear diary,
One major change this week is that I have stopped using Power Roots and Pure Zym and instead started using Green Sensation as Plagrons schedule recommends.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱 GSC #7 - keeps going strong, still the furthest along and is still growing vertically.
She sits at 93cm currently and is still drinking around 1,4 per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱 LD #4 - the budsites are developing nicely now and she has had a bit more of a vertical growth than the rest allowing her tops to catch up slightly with the taller GSCs.
Defoliation took place on day 27 of flower.
She is 78cm tall currently and is still drinking around 1,3 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱 AK #2 - this lady has stopped growing vertically completely as she is still sitting at 69cm in hight.
As the others have kept going I boosted the pot a bit more to make sure she doesn’t get to far away from the light.
She is still drinking around 1,2 liters per day but as she isn’t growing and her budsites had already started coming in, there is not much visual difference versus last week.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
🌱 GSC #5 - has started picking up pace now as the budsites are developing more proper so a defoliation happened on day 27 of flower.
She is now 87cm tall and still drinks a lot more than the rest at around 2 liters per day.
Dear diary,
Tried to exhaust out of the room but that increased the RH levels so went back to the old setup.
Sitting at 52-55% with lights on and 64-66% with lights off so need to look into a beefer dehumidifier.
I also took the tower fan and hanged it horizontally to increase airflow above the canopy and put in 2 small fans under the canopy.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
GSC #7 - has slowed down now with the upward growth and is now starting to bulk up more. Seems to be about 1 week ahead of the others in the tent.
Currently sits at 95 cm tall and drinks a bit less this week at 1,2-1,3 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
LD #4 - the tops are now doing the final push and is slowing down on the upward growth.
Sits at 81cm and is drinking 1,25 liters per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
AK #2 - her budsites have been expanding a bit making it a bit taller but otherwise the growth upwards has completely stopped.
She is the shortest but her budsites seem to be packing on pretty densely so hopefully that turns out good.
Is 71 cm tall right now and drinks 1,2 per day.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
GSC #5 - been growing the most last week as the tops are doing the final stretch before going full on buds. Looks about 1 week behind the other GSC but on pace with the other 2 in the tent.
She is 71 cm and still drinks notably more than the rest at 1,9 liters per day.
Dear diary,
Honestly been a pretty boring week with things visually looking about the same in the tent.
I did find some grates to lift the pots off the trays so they no longer sit in any leftover runoff.
I also increased the temps with a few degrees as it had started drifting a bit low, and by doing so I also got the RH to drop to a better 43-45% with lights on and 53-55% with lights off.
No more vertical growth is really happening so hopefully this coming week they will start bulking up.
Lastly in terms of nutes, my Sugar Royal ran out and wasn’t able to get that again, so changed over to Bud Candy. Being as it’s only the sugars, the change mid grow shouldn’t affect the plans in a negative way.
I also picked up on some slight signs of nute burning, so instead of going up to EC 2,6 as suggested by Plagron, I’m dropping back to 2,0-2,1.
Dear diary,
Mid this week I started seeing the buds swell so hopefully that will keep going, the very tops of the colas haven’t changed much but they have bulked up further down to make a pear shape.
I have continued to pull back on the A+B base nutes for a lower EC, gradually gone down to 1.85ms.
For waterings I give 9,2 liter in total with a range of 2-2,6 per plant.
Lastly while checking the buds the other day I found a “nanner” meaning that #7 has gone a bit herm… I carefully removed the nanner and checked all the plants for more but found none.
As I’m probably just another 2-3 weeks from harvest I’ll just ride it out and keep my fingers crossed it won’t mess to much up.
Dear diary,
Getting closer to cutting down the first one, #7. She is starting to show some amber triches so did a flush with water and will just give water for the final couple days.
Aiming for 60-70% cloudy before harvest.
As last week not much has happened visually when looking from the top, but they continue to slowly bulk up more and more.
Dear diary,
Getting close to cutting down #7, maybe another 2-3 days depending on the triches.
#7 has been given only water for a week now and I on day 6 defoliated the yellowed fan leaves.
The other 3 plants stopped getting Bud Candy and Calmag was increased a bit.
On day 6 of the week they also were flushed with 60 liters each as they had started showing some amber here and there.
Looking at bud structure in general I’m not to impressed with #7, as especially the lower canopy has very elongated and airy buds. The other GSC, so #5 has a more dense structure but LD # and AK #2 seem have the most dense nugs.
Dear diary,
On day 5 of the week it was time to chop GSC #7 meaning she closed out on 70 days of flowers.
The other GSC still needs another week so won’t mark the strain harvested yet.
LD #4 and AK #2 should be done in a few more days as well so keeping a close eye on the triches.
Dear diary,
On day 4 of the week it was time to harvest AK #2 and LD #4 as like 30% of the triches had turned amber.
They both ended on day 77 of flower and have been hung in the drying tent.
On day 6 of the week we also took out the GSC #7 trim drying, trimmed and jarred 168g for curing.
GSC #5 remained in the tent until day 2 of the following week, finishing it out on 82 days of flower.
Will get back and update after dry and cure.
She was grown in a 120x120 tent, but size was put down as 0.35 due to it only having 1/4th the space available in the tent.
Wet weight not checked as I don’t see the point of that.
Will get back and update after dry and cure.
