A very interesting week. One of my girls developed a CalMag deficiency it was a bit difficult for me to diagnose as this is my first run ever growing so the deficiency had time to progress slightly further than I would have liked, but at this point, I have increased her CalMag and it has stopped which is great and the rest of the strawberry pies growing, really big and are doing great. Finally starting to flower, took them awhile and the mimosa cake seems to be on point, she’s way ahead of the strawberry pies 🙂🌱💚
Bruh... she's beautiful. Most breeders give an odd number of weeks. I have NEVER had a plant finish when the breeder says.. sometimes 2 weeks.. sometimes 4 weeks. Phenotypes can play a big roll in that too. I grew 2 Runtz from the same breeder that claimed it was a 9 week strain. 2 very different phenotypes. One was finished at week 8 and the other at like week 10 or 11. Both smelled and tasted like traditional Runtz but one was a fast finisher. It's best to go by % of trichomes that have turned amber. I first wait to see that plenty of the pistils have oranged/browned (about 75% or more), then start checking trichomes. The very top of each cola will start to show amber first.. I like to wait till I see the bottom nugs getting a slight bit of amber while still watching the tops, making sure they arent getting too ripe. Just gotta find that "in between" moment of not having too much amber but also having plenty of amber.. at this point, I know that the clear trichomes have matured as much as possible without harvesting too late.. I just like to make sure I see some amber beginning toward the bottom. But each strain AND phenotype of that strain will finish at different times. FastBuds is a great breeder. Those flowering times might only be showing us how long it takes till the earliest harvest possible. Still SOME THC but not as much as their could be. Idk, I really dont get why they even give harvest times.. they should all just say "7 - 12 weeks" 🤣 somewhere in there 🤷
You're doing an incredible job for your first ever grow. They look really good.
Great catch on diagnosing your calmag problems. It can also look like PK deficiency among others.
@Craigery, I like to start them off at 20% power and increase as the weeks go on, but I would say about week three. The power normally is around 50% 60% and I will increase as they start to flower it’s always good to monitor your plants, to see how they react to the lights as you are increasing the power
