Closet set to 80 deg. Seeds nestled into paper towel in large Tupperware container with loose lid. Spent the day spraying down all closet surfaces with bleach solution, let sit for 1/2 hour, and wiped all surfaces dry. Going to re-use coco from last grow after a quick rinse and sterilization in boiling water. Will inoculate medium with Dynomyco, pH'd water, dilute Silica solution, and 0.4EC MegaCrop A & B. Seeds will go straight into 5 gal fabric pots once they pop. Veg phase of tent controlled by VPD, with temp at 75 daytime. Going to hit seedlings with 750-1000 PPFD after first set of leaves. 12/20-all 3 popped. Put in sterile coco/perlite mix with 500EC MegaCrop 2 part, pH 6.4. PPFD 650

Day 1 - Ugh! Killed one of my seeds by covering it too deep and too wet😩 Trying to pop another Orange Cookies Nicole to compensate, but not sure that will play well with my 2 autos. Veg for 13 weeks and take clones before switching to flower? Fer Fucks Sake! Day 3 - Coco is finally prepped and pre-soaked in 0.6EC solution, PHd to 6.3, with normal dose of CalMag. Inoculated the two 5gal containers with 25g DynoMyco. Transplanted my two surviving little gals in their forever home this evening. Watching the (kinda old) OCN seeds to see if they're swelling - they are - but I have a lot of newer seeds I could try, too. 12/26 - My vision is that I’ll have beautiful bonsai mainlines under the canopy of the autos. I’m betting it will get completely out of hand, but WTF, worth a shot. Ok, so only one of the Orange Cookies Nicole popped, and it’s looking a little wimpy. Popped two more Grandmommy Purple from Herbie’s. The three seedlings will stay in one gallon pots until the Autos are out of the way. I’ve never tried deliberately stunting veg growth before, but I’ll probably end up getting 32 tops if I mainline the hell out of them the next 12 weeks. Will probably only have room to flower out one of the photos if I’m going to let them go that wide 🙄, but I’d rather go for it now instead of a summer grow with humidity and vacation issues… Plus, the Grandmommy Purple should be THC monsters!

My grand plan was to pop 3 Autos in 5 gal fabric pots in a 3x3, but I killed one 😓 Should I try and pop a Magnum Auto, or maybe try a few small photos in 1gal pots in the same tent to fill the canopy, or would the shading and logistics be too much? Stick with 2 matching autos?

They are both good plans. If you pop a new auto it will take time to catch up then finish later then the rest. I like the idea popping a photoperiod or two and keeping the pots smaller, this way you can veg them out after the autos are finished, transplant them into bigger pots then flip to flower after they fills the canopy area. The auto version will finish faster if your pressed for time, the photoperiod version will take longer but you should be able to yield more in the end and its fun to grow both. FYI: We will not be notified of any reply or tag [@] in the questions part of the website, if you need to reach out with other information use your DM "direct mailbox" in the bottom right hand corner of the page. it looks like a little paper airplane icon. Day 7 - Slowly but surely. Not much to say except they should stay healthy. Saw a sugar ant in the tent so I’m going to spray the seams. Don’t want any contamination crawling in my plants. Day 10 - thorough 1gal soak with 7ml SilicaBlast ph'd down to 6.3 Day 11 - 1.5g/gal Part A, 2.5g/gal Part B, Ph to 5.5 - watered. These things are so damn squat, I don't know how the heck I'll train them. Absolutely no internodal stem length to work with.

Day 13 - good growth, finally, but still no intermodal length to play with. Later this week, I’ll try some LST, but not expecting much. Day 16 - going good. Took fan leaves off top two nodes to open up lower nodes to more light. Not enough stem to train yet Day 17 - VPD mode switched from Seedling mode to Vegetative mode. Humidity setpoint is 64% +/-3% with 79 deg. growroom. Day 19 - installed trellis frames and started LST

Day 21 - Big defoliate of fan leaves this evening and tied about 12 branches down. They’re going nuts! Yay! Day 22 - Still battling short internode lengths. Changing light cycle to 19 hours with the main LED and Far Red, followed by 1 hour of just Far Red to try and stimulate some stretch. Day 24 - took a little more time to go stem by stem and removed lower larf bud sites. Day 25 - installed larger drip rings

These girls are throwing out an insane number of branches, and I'm running out of room to train them and open her up. Is it common practice, similar to main-lining, to trim out the lower larf-y bud sites and branches, or do you leave everything?

Topping, mainlining, other high stress tecniques are not advised for autoflowers at all - but defoliation? Certainly... and that includes trimming off lower branches and larfy bud sites... but do it slowly - a little bit one day, a little more the next kind of thing - so as to not stress her out. Trying to contain some autoflowers can be quite the chore ... take a look at what I had to do in this grow - zoom in on the tent and you can see I had to LST and even HST here there and everywhere.... and defoliating madly... growdiaries.com/diaries/131673-grow-journal-by-growinggrannie/week/728349 - you just have to find a way, make a way! Good luck - I feel your pain!!

Day 28 - Girls are doing well. Canopy is getting thicker and higher. PPFD is around 12-1400. Mushroom bag for CO2 is just starting to produce, and ambient CO2 is 550ppm and climbing daily. Runoff EC was pushing 2.3, so did a big 3/4 strength feeding this morning to flush old salts and try and bring it down. Day 29 - did a huge defoliate of fan leaves and sucker sites Day 31 - it’s like I didn’t defoliate at all! Huge and dense again. Training outside branches to outside of loops.

Day 35 - #1 is taking off and main growth is getting up near light. Had to adjust light up twice this week. Might train the main down to even out the canopy. #2 is close behind and just starting to throw a couple of pistils. Day 37 - wifey started complaining about the smell every time I opened the cabinet. Foliage is going freaking bonkers. I'll need to do another huge defoliate soon! Day 40 - For fucks sake. These things are going nuts! Did another huge defoliate today, mostly fan leaves and suckers, but managed to knock off a tertiary main. Whatevs, they are going to be monsters regardless.

Day 44 - Starting to cut back N a bit and upping P and K. 1:3:3 ratio. Still big, strong, and healthy. Day 47 - killed the far red happy hour at the end of the day and shut off the far red LED supplement. Don’t want any more stretch whine the plants seek the light at dusk! Lollypopped the fuck out of #2 plant. About 17 mains left with not much below. #1 plant has been steadily defoliated, and took a lot of the larf, but leaving a lot of lower growth to compare the yield and strength to #2 Day 47- still at 1:2.5:2.5 nutes. See pics! Day 48 - noticed some Phosphate deficiency on a few leaves in the back - during most of veg and the first 2 weeks of flower, I was feeding 1:1 with MegaCrop A:B. This gave me an NPK of 10-6-13, and with the size of the canopy, not surprised Phosphate was a bit low. My latest fert mix of 3-8-8 should take care of that.

Day - 50 Just cruising at this point. Far red has been off for a few days, humidity set point is around 55%, based on targeting flower VPD. P and K are higher than N. Gave a dose of CalMag yesterday for fun. Day 53 - realizing plant 1 has what looks like a Calcium deficiency. Feeds have all been at 5.8pH, so Ca not readily absorbed. In addition to normal NPK fees rate at 1:2.5:2.5, added solid dose of CalMag and adjusted pH up to 6.3 with Silica. Used this mix to do a thorough flush on both plants.

Day 57 - plant 1 still going great, stretch over, building bud mass. Plant 2 also doing well, looks about a week behind #1, and the leaf discoloration on upper fan leaves hasn’t abated. I’ll look into that more this week. Day 58 - drunken “deer gnaw” defoliation of the canopy fan leaves. Day 60 - Houston, we have a problem. Vent fan isn’t venting. Will have to research and/or swap out. Humidity through the roof. Bad timing! Day 61 - fixed extraction fan. Knocked tube off of inlet somehow 🙄

Plant 2 still has weird leaf deficiency. Only seems to affect fan leaves, and it’s significantly bigger than plant 1 , so, meh? Boosting P and K this week and added in 2.7ml/gal of CaliMagic. Let’s see if that helps. Had to rework tent to get filter out from above the light. I’m kinda happy with the layout. Day 64 - Getting closer. 1 more week? Sure! Last high PK feeding today. Starting flush in a couple of days after pots dry back slightly. Day 68 - started flush on both plants. #1 looks well ahead of #2, but we’ll see

Day 70- 2nd day of flush. Plant 1 is pretty much done, just waiting for trichs to amber up a bit. Plant 2 has a ways to go, but I’m flushing anyway. Wifey complained about the choking smell, but realized my in tent filter was off because a branch lifted the plug out of the socket 🙄🙄 Day 75 - past few days been feeding PK at 0.7 EC, waiting for the trichs to turn. Going back to plain water tonight. #2 plant has much larger buds, but is waaayyy behind #1 - still tons of white pistils.

Does it always take this long for the trichs to cloud / amber up? This Godzilla Cookies Auto has looked ready for 10 days, pistils solidly orange for 2 weeks, but the trichs are still stubbornly clear. Anything I can/should do to move things along, or just be patient?

Hi mate I would wait it out and be patient trichomes are definitely a more accurate way to tell when the plants ready it's fine if your pistils are already amber, just keep your eye on the trichomes they mature fast this late in flower I'd say you'd have about a week -2 max

Set up the shed with a heater, humidifier, and Inkbird to see if it will keep at 60F and 60% RH, and it’s good to go. Built (6) 18x12 stackable screen trays with vent at bottom and computer fans at top. Should be a nice setup for the eventual trim/dry operation. Day 84 - harvested tops of plant #1. 36oz wet untrimmed

What to do with dried larf and trim? Sitting on about 6oz of frosty stuff that was dried and cured next to the buds. Decarb and ethanol? Bubble hash? How can I make something presentable and clean without a big equipment investment?

bubble hash -- freeze immediatly, next time. other stuff won't matter much.. you are dissolving it into oil or alcohol for an extraction... doesn't really care if it has some moisture left or not. less moisture may even improve resulting potency -- less mass of non thc added.. simple result of math. pressing rosin i believe is better with a normal level of moisture in your typically cured weed. it helps the oils escape through all the micro crevices and such. it facilitates the process so 'normal' weed pressed will be a better yield than bone-dry. i'd recommend bubble hash but has some initial investment -- set of mesh bags of varying micron sizes and a portable "5 gallon" washing machine (aka RV clothes washer)... it is worth it. stirring by hand sucks... also good to note with this method... the larger the load the more efficient it is... it will take 2-3 hours whether you do 10g or 1000's of grams starting material. Good thing is this is a sieving process.. absolutely nothing added.. pure plant material. dry ice hash has more contaminants and comes out greenish, but probably the cheapest and easiest option. dry ice from local supermarket is typically cheap and you'll need "1" mesh bag... drpo teh ice in.. let it freeze, then shake over a flat, larrge surface you can scrape it all toegether easily -- glass or something very smooth in similar way to glass... a long mirror, e.g. butter you can use a double boiler .. can do the extraction AND decarb it for read-to-use state at one time -- 60-90mins at 212F.. the double boiler guarantees you cannot burn the butter. lots of options.. if it won't be smoked or heat applied when used, you'll need to decarb it -- if eaten, for example. vapes and smoking take care of that part on their own. extractions involve solvents... some more dangerous than others... don't follow some 'bruh' science on these.. make sure it's a reputable source with some sort of education behind them on relevant subjects... smoking butane is never good, lol.
the end.
