my original GB XXL having come to the end of its session, room is available in my little tent; let's go for a session of Royal AK by RQS 👌
germination a bit slow, and 2 seeds out of 3; I thought of making 3 pots of 11L, I finally decide for 2 pots of 14L, in coco/soil/perlite
the all-mix will be enough for the growth with a shot of rhizo and power root; after that it will be Terra Bloom
very uneven start:
one has already spread its leaves well, and is spreading more than it is lengthening,
but the other is struggling to develop, without showing any signs of premature death.
I suppose it will be smaller and later than the other, but it will at least make it to the end 🙏
it took some time, but the 2nd one has finally started its development 👌
I'll try to keep their height about the same by topping the first one and only LSTing the other
I stop the power roots, the job is done; I try the humic fulvic in small doses for the first time, to be continued
I also changed the lights: goodbye QBoard 97w, hello 2xTS600 🌞
it's topping week ✂️
as planned for only one of them;
I'll settle for the LST for the second one, which started well this week.
It won't catch up but it will go to term, I hope, with a decent harvest despite everything.
The first one is doing well, it responds very well to the training, and develops nice green fan leaves.
I can't complain about the humic fulvic, they both seem to like it; I'll be satisfied with it for the grow.
an interesting week, lots of work, and good growth 👌
the topped plant now occupies the whole surface of the pot; i stop the LST and let it grow. the first pistils appeared this week.
the trained plant is getting stronger, and leaves me an option: instead of 4 colas, I will have 6, two of them stronger than the others. I gave it a little defoliation and a pruning.
the 2 girls each have their own rhythm 🌳😏🌳
the first one, the topped one, is developing as I expected, having now a nice cross structure and going towards the light.
the second one is clearly 2 weeks behind the other one, and was showing more stunted; nevertheless, this week, I finished the "pseudo mainlining" without topping, and now seems to be vigorous. a last pruning at the end of the week, now I let her grow at her ease.
for the transition, i opted for a veg/bloom nutrient mix;
from next week, it will be terra bloom 3ml for both
it's official, the development gap between the 2 girls is 2.5 weeks; fortunately, they seem to be coping with the same nutrient regime (pretty much...) 😅
the leaves of the highest grade turning yellow, I corrected with Calmag which seems to have circumscribed the problem; I'll be careful this week to see if the green becomes intense again
little anecdote: I think I'm going to harvest the 2nd polyploid cola of my little grower career 😊
an easy week, nothing to do 👌
the 2 plants continue their stretch, the first one already starts to concentrate on its buds.
They won't be very big I think, so much the better, they should have a cookie structure with big and short nuggets.
I'm staying on the same nutrient program; one is a bit pale but nothing to worry about so far, the other one is quite green and catching up a bit
(on the end of week picture, I just forgot to water it in time, but it regained its vigour 30min later)
I'm going to be away for 2 weeks, so I'm going to bring them back to my big autopot tent;
I don't want to transplant them so late, I'll just stack the pots and fill them with clay balls; photos next week, if I can manage it 😅)
a week that 'fixes things';
the first one covers itself with trichos, it will remain small; the second one develops its pistils and continues to grow.
.I used RQS eco bending clips to try and limit the size of the main cola on the second plant, hoping to get a more uniform canopy.
at the end of the week i notice a small deficiency; this week i am up to 3.5 terra and 0.5 calmag.
I'm going away as planned for 2 weeks, so I've brought them back to my tent with autopot, hoping that the system will work without any problem during this time; I'll be sure when I come back if I find any living or skeletal bushes 😅
back from my journey in Africa, mixed results:
my Gogro system failed for a plant, a valve did not engage; the girl could not withstand more than 2 weeks of water stress 😓
on the other hand, the other one worked perfectly: I found a mature and fat plant, ready to be cut 👍
results next week after drying and curing ✌️
that extra week to give the buds a chance to swell a bit more was a good idea ;
the 4 colas obtained are heavy and dense, easy to clean, and smell great 🙂
it's a pity I couldn't complete both, but this pretty girl will console me 😘
results next week ✌️
here is the result at the end:
after 13 weeks from seed to drying, I get with the surviving plant 51g, which is in line with my average,
extremely easy to cure thanks to the structure given by the mainlining; it took me a little less than 10 minutes to cut out the buds and install them in their jar with a boveda
small smoke test to follow ✌️
