Apologies for starting week 3, this was an unanticipated journal. I’ve never grown autoflowers before so here is a first. I didn’t see much growing information on Atlas’ “Fog Dog” so I’m doing a weekly progress journal for reference. Seed purchased from Gaslamp (formerly Hembra)
Soaked seed 24 hours then planted into half gallon pot of soil. 1/3 seeds germinated. My photo grow started same time had 5/5 germinate.
Start of week three. This one had a tough time shedding the shell post-germ and has been a tad behind as a result. I’m a little worried that being an auto the slow start will harm yields.
I’ll transplant soon to another larger pot.
Day 28 since I soaked the seed and it’s really taken off. She doubled in size from last week.
I’ve heard you should be quicker to transplant autos so I transplanted into a 3 gallon pickle bucket a few minutes ago. As you can see in the root pictures I probably could have done it a day or two earlier.
If it was a photo I would top it at this point but I think I’m going to stick with LST this grow and once she settles in from the transplant I’ll begin training.
I have not fed it yet. This grow is using up a few leftover gardening supplies including the potting mix so I figured it had enough fertilizer in the mix for the start. I’ll probably start nutrients this week at a low percentage.
Weekly Wednesday Update:
This gal is chonky! Widest leaves out of everyone in the grow room. We started LST last week and have continued her training to fill the bucket.
She started throwing pistils a few days ago so it was pretty quick to flower. As someone who has only grown photos I’m impressed at the growth so far.
It is currently in the veg room under 20/4 where she’ll live until harvest.
Start of week 2F. Still 20/4 lighting. The veg room was a bit warmer this week after installing extra lights in the flower room. Got to 84* as a daytime high one day so we added extra ventilation and are keeping between 74-80F.
Not too much has gone on in the last week. I’ve continued LST to help fill the bucket space and she’s put on some more growth and preflowers but hasn’t started to stretch much yet compared with some of the photos in the flower room.
So far it’s been a pretty easy ride with the Fog Dog auto. It’s been trained to about six nice colas and some of the bud sites are starting to form.
The veg room had hit the 80s (*F) this past weekend when we really cranked up the flower tents but we’ve been steady since at 78/75*F.
I noticed some of the earliest pistils on the preflower sites are browning. She looks healthy otherwise so I’m hoping it’s normal for Fog Dog. Theres a chance she’s pregnant so we’ll keep an eye on those spots.
Start of week 4 flower and man this thing just keeps impressing. With some gentle training there’s 7ish colas spaced around the bucket on a nicely level canopy. They’re already packing on the buds so while she’s only just over a foot tall I’m optimistic for a decent harvest.
Smell is mild to this point: unnoticeable when mixed in with all the other plants but mildly gassy when pressed to the nose. No pest, nutrient, or heat stress to date. So far a very easy maintenance plant.
Quick update this week: she’s putting on a lot of nice nugs. No noticeable smell compared with the plants around it yet. Continuing LST to keep canopy even. Still an easy, carefree plant.
She’s starting to put on a little frost and smell this week: slight notes of something funky. She’s a real hardly plant: I think I’ve only fed it once the whole grow so far but it’s not really showing much if any deficiencies (compared to Ethos’ photo Lilac Diesel which is the heaviest feeder and pickiest plants in the grow room.
Some plants are a chore to grow, this one has been a pleasure up to now. Can’t wait for this Fog Dog to take on more character as the buds grow.
She continues to shine without much work: quite literally glittering as the center of attention in a room of (just flipped to flower) photoperiods. As such her light schedule changed on Feb 28 from 20/4 to 12/12.
I can’t really make out the smell over the drying tent so it’s not too noticeable yet.
It was foggy Sunday morning and an unleashed dog happened to run past. I made a comment about the fog dog to my girlfriend but she didn’t really get it.
Anyway this Fog Dog by Atlas continues to pack on the sugar. Still no real signs of stress as she heads into the final stretch of flowering.
I was looking back at the past couple weeks of journal and her recently bulking has been amazing.
There’s just a couple weeks left to this fog dog and she’s approaching that finish line with glitter and gas.
The bud sites are starting to swell and she’s still putting on size and sugar but this is the first week I’ve really been able to put a smell to the plant with notes of citrus and fuel.
This has been one of my more fun grows and I’m excited to finish it out. We did not feed it fish this week but did water it with some recharge when we were watering everything else.
We hit 20% amber this week and I needed a bit of floor space so this week was the last few days of flower followed by a harvest on 3/22. Will post full harvest report next week.
Easy to grow. Stress-free, low input plant. Low input kept buds airy but still gave 13 grams. At a cost of $2.13/gram for the grow. Nugs are airy but frosty. Not the smelliest plant but maybe the cure will change that.

I have not tried smoking it yet. I’ll report back in a few days.
Edit: strong smell now. Gas, pine, and a little bit of hay still. Nice high. We did find some seeds but having done a seed run just before it’s not surprising.
We ended up processing some bubble hash using the popcorn buds and trim.
