Diaries updated daily so please check back!
Welcome to day 1 of week 4 aka day 22 since breaking ground. Nesia continues to impress, being by far the most advanced plant for her age that I have grown so far. I am very excited for this week in particular. She is following Karen's pattern exactly, except without the three week bad start. By the end of this week I expect she will be 50cm in diameter at least.
Day 22.5: Performed LST on secondary nodes.
Day 23.5: Fertigated. Adjusted pot and added risers. Performed some brutal LST. She's growing almost completely horizontal now. My plan is to train her around the pot circumference. She's currently about where Karen was at the end of week 5. She is consistently 10-11 days ahead of Karen so far. Exciting. Brutal LST honestly I'm basically torturing her at this point.
Day 23.75: Fertigated 3l
Day 24: Nesia has put on a lot of foliage growth in the last 24h. I am noticing a pattern here with defoliating, it seems that the plants seem to alternate between focusing on foliage growth and focusing on height. I am starting to think regular defoliation may reduce internode distance and stretching. I am going to test this theory a bit by letting both Nesia and Misty grow a bit now before I further LST the primary node. Removed a few fan leaves.
Day 26: Reconfigured tent. See video. Nesia now has more light. Incidentally, I believe I have now corrected the Magnesium deficiency, colour is looking great, growth accelerating rapidly. I did say this would be an even bigger week than last and it is certainly shaping up that way. Fertigated 2l.
Day 27: Performed major LST and minor defoliation. Nesia is really growing well. She fills the big pot already. I severaly pruned the companion plants to make room for Nesia.
I also reorganised the tents and configuration again while installing upgrades. New reflector. Much bigger carbon filter. Airflow and light both increased and optimised. See video.
Day 28: Nesia has responded quite strongly to the LST and defoliation yesterday. Nesia has not been watered for 48h. I am doing a short "dry spell" for all the plants.
End of week summary: Well what a great week for Nesia. She hid a lot of her growth under massive leaves until the LST on day 27. I was pretty hard with her, and I aslo defoliated. She saved us a big surprise for the end of the week. Can you believe the response 24h later? That is quite shockingly good adaptation. I am certain that the reason she responds so strongly, is because by now, the end of week 4, she is well used to this regular process. Every time I have done LST and/or defoliation she has responded quicker and more vigorously. Nesia is going to far, far exceed Karen in size if she keeps up at this rate. Overall I couldn't be much more pleased with Nesia. She is an absolute star and I am already thinking a possible future diary of the month winner. I have been extremely impressed with Fast Buds genetics so far.
Amazing! 👍 Nesia is growing like a weed... haha 😀 I read last week you lowered your light and some plants are getting 55 DLI. How is the response? Didn't seem to slow down the growth and stretching of her. I read on the FB site that this strain creates relaxed mindset that is perfect for promoting the inner philosopher, I'll have to add this one to my grow list 😀 Very creative to add carnivorous plants, you are giving me all kinds of ideas. Keep up the awesome work 👏
@UnorthadoxDude, The FB site mentioned this, "good choice for growers who have experience with challenging Sativa and Haze varieties". You know what you are doing so I believe that is why she is doing so well. 😀👌
@MedicineMaker, I wonder if it is the photoperiod Amnesia Haze that is more tricky? This is the auto version from Fast Buds which (apart from early magnesium deficiency, has been pretty straightforward. She grows very similar to Karen.
Привет ✋
Очень красивый сад, особенно мне понравился cover crop из зелени, хорошая идея вырастить немного зелени.
Удачного цикла и больших урожаев бро 💪
@cherokee, advice genuinely given is always welcomed. I have inoculated my medium with 9 species of mycorrhizae, 13 species of bacteria and about 12 species of trichoderma. In terms of tea, another guy who uses Korean Natural Farming methods was also giving me advice about making my own teas. I will defoliate, it is good advice, I understand the stress mechanism for maximizing essential oil production. The 72 hours of darkness is going to be impossible unfortunately. Thank you for visiting and for following. :)
@UnorthadoxDude,
@cherokee, thank you friend! They are companion plants. :) I hope you will come back to see the progress. My goal in this grow series is to learn and to focus on quality over quantity. I want to grow the best weed I've ever smoke. I don't want it to be even close.
@@resimax, she is a total beast, I wonder how big she might be if I had the time and space to continue training, and hadn't just inflicted a three week ordeal on her!
10 weeks flowering period for this auto. On that basis I am expecting another 7 weeks before harvest. I did not realise this was such a long flower. If I am able to let her finish she is going to be an absolutely monster yield. She's almost double the size of Karen now.
Heyy,
Thanks a bunch for growing our genetics, and sharing this diary with us!
We hope that it was a nice experience
Have a good one, and happy harvest :)
Looking happy and healthy and great job on the very uniform canopy! 👏 I see what you mean about the comparison between Karen and Nesia, very impressive! I'll be following along to watch the magic!
@MedicineMaker, thank you friend! I am quite enjoying training now that I am starting to feel like I know what I'm doing with it. Nesia is my "best" or "strongest" grow so far I think. She has been and is ahead of ever other plant (at the same age) so I am really excited and curious to find out what will happen!
@Lazuli, she is :) she's 2 weeks into flowering. She's right on schedule I think. I am just a beginner and my conditions are not perfect so I imagine she could progress faster, but honestly I would be surprised to see a hugely significant difference except perhaps in hydro. Of all my grows at the moment she is by far the most advanced plant for her age I have grown. I am really really impressed. She is going to be about twice the size of Karen when she is finished.
