Germination
Successfully germinated in 48 hours with heating mat set to 21c. Now moved to closet with a small light for them to sprout, while waiting for my previous harvest to finish. This is my 3rd round of these Watermelon Punch autos. First round was in the summer and i basically did nothing but put a pot in the window, gave me a decent turnout. 2nd try winter was coming and this is how I've ended up doing a diary now and going down the rabbit hole of growing indoors with the right processes. Wish me luck for the 1st REAL grow! ::) :)

These are officially plants now, so week 1 begins. One tall and one short. The root tails of the seeds were like that too, one was really long and one was very short. Plan to leave them in germination dome and check back in a week.

I've moved them into their final pots today. The light I'm using doesn't have a great perimeter and these 2 ladies are barely in the light now. My previous grow is exploding with new buds at the moment i was planning to pull them! Going to have to decide what to do about the lights! Everything else is going smooth, was one day where they drooped from thirst but it was caught quickly and remedied. (Yeh i think I can squeeze all 4 plants under the Fecida and get better DLI than using the small light for these 2. so thats what I'm doing)

The new plants are looking good and my old ones look sad. Supposed to be autoflowers? They had thrips early on which caused havok. These days i dont know what they are doing. they are probably 4 months old now. new growth, some looks like reveg, some looks like bud.

Just start again...........this is not a nitrogen issue , it is an issue of poor genetics. Autos will not reveg, no matter what you do to them.

Woke up to this ugliness on the bigger seedling.... should i be concerned? I don't have much experience and not sure what to expect from something like this on a plant so young.

i'd wager you got a little fertilizer on the leaf and it resulted in what you see. important thing is it stays isolated. if it doesn't expand it;s more certainly a drip like i suspect or just some early imperfection. could be an early leaf blemish which are far more common and often don't show later, so not much concern. those 3-bladed leaves are 'early' leaves.,, even the 5-bladed seem more prone to blemishes.

Not much to say, they are doing their thing. Been misting them with water on the days between watering. on watering days I'm giving around quarter liter to them focusing on their immediate surrounding not watering the whole pot. Have lights about 50 cm at 70% brightness. Spilled some soap on a leaf last week but it seems to be dealing with it. Also removed and harvested my old plants. They were exploding with reveg, little seedlings growing from them everywhere, surely they couldn't have been Autoflowers. Theorizing that all these Watermelon Punch seeds I have are actually not Autoflowers and got mixed up for Feminized. Will figure it out in a couple weeks when it gets closer. IT'S COLD!!!!

Seeing white specs on the leaves, but no signs of bugs at all. Really looks like thrips but have looked at both plants top to down on 10x and couldnt find any. Could this be something besides bugs??

Starting week 4 off with one of the best things ever, THRIPS! I had suspected it but finally was able to confirm it tonight, found a yellow bugger crawling on a bottom leaf and then a few flying bastards. I think I've caught em early, made a solution in a half liter spray bottle of 3 drops of dish soap and a half teaspoon of neem oil in warm water. Will repeat the process ASAP, will not let bugs win again! Feb 8. Dropped the dimmer back to 60%. Tiny signs of possible light stress on one of em so trying to stay on top of it. At end of day applied 2nd round of neem oil. this is 2 in 2 days. Will now wait till the 10th to apply again. Feb 10th. applied Neem oil for final assault. Plan on waiting till next week to do again. Feb 13. The plants look stressed after the repeated neem oil treatments. They are growing fast so keep having to move light up. I moved the thermometer for the heating pad to under the pot now since there is a chance the roots can get there. it was reading 52c! Maybe that was streesing the plants with leaves curled down and stuff. Changed temp to 30c and will keep close eye on. Also watered today.

Feb 14. A New week starts. They have seemingly survived the aggressive neem oil applications with some stress signs but overall ok. Haven't seen any new thrips and will use neem oil application weekly from here out till close to harvest. Trying a higher DLI of around 30 this week. Watering more at each watering now. A solid 1.5 liter bottle shared between them. I think they are starting to show signs of their purple traits, no sign of flowers though. If they haven't started flowering on their own at around 40-50 cm i will change the light cycle and assume i mixed up the seeds for feminized. Expect to enter flowering in 1-2 weeks from now. Doing very mild low stress training. I really only planned to do lollypopping as i want to see how this variety actually grows. Feb 18. Neem treatment again. Everything is looking good. Weird leaves on the right are my own fault, i was picking at em when they were tiny, interesting to see how they grow haha. Feb 20. Picked some bits off the bottom of plant 1.

Feb 21. Start of new week. Still no signs of flowers, probably not autoflowers! Thrips are not gone but not taking over the world. Was debating whether to flip the light cycle today but think i will wait till week 7. Pulled some bits off of plant 2's bottom today. Was going to wait 1 week between each neem treatment for now on, but think i might do it sooner, need to keep these bugs at bay. The way the leaves on the top of plant 2 look is rediculous. I should not have been pulling on the top without commiting to topping that plant. oh well, we'll see how it turns out, seems healthy other than the disfigurations. Feb 23. Neem oil lastnight. Feb 26. Did some light defoliation and heavy watering. This is the most water they've had yet about 2 liters. Barely anything came out bottom of pot so should be fine. Will neem oil again before new week starts (flowering).

Feb 28. So today they switch to 12/12 light schedule. I have defoliated and lollypopped. Next watering will include Bio-Bloom. Going to give a neem oil treatment before the early lights out. Giving some more LST to plant #1 to try and spread her out a bit more. Should be plenty of bud sites between the 2 plants to max out my 130 watt LED. The dimmer is at 90% now as of today and only about 45 cm from the top of plants. lets see if they can take it. Oh yeh, i read on the internet that aluminum foil scares away thrips, I had some in the kitchen and it reflects the light nice too, so put some in there for fun. No plans for it just going to observe if changes anything.... Also Ricky swears by it, he'll coat a whole trailer in the stuff :) CURIOUS MINDS WONDERED: I have NOT used any fertilizer at all yet, Bio-Bloom will be the first. They have been living off purely light, water, and bio-bizz all mix till now. Mar 1. Watered with 1.5 liters per plant with 1.5 ml of biobloom. OH YEH, did neem treatment lastnight. Mar 4. Watered with 1.5 per plant again. added plagron terra grow to mix from @gottagrowsometime 's suggestion. thanx for helping with my grow sir! also added plagron sugar royal and also some blue sticky traps. the thrips really seem under control now, think the neem oil worked. but good to stay on top of it! Did some research on the Nutes I've bought. The Sugar Royal has nitrogen in it already. Think I'll just use the Terra Grow for the next week and then cut it out, shoulda started with it earlier. Mar 6. Grabbed the FREE Plagron 100% Natural starter kit from the link in growdiaries. comes with Alga Grow and Alga Bloom. Cool. Made a fresh bottle of neem oil spray and applied right at lights out.

Would it be out of line to ask one of you O.G.s to give a general review of how my diary is going so far? I know I have a lot to learn and been listening to as many experienced people as I can. Would be so valuable if one of you with experience could take a look at what I've done

See there's a bit of a shine to her. Can't see your TDS or what you used. But, had little to much N in veg. But, nothing that would of caused harm. But that biobloom. Does it not need some grow with it. I know it says it has a small amount of N. But, you are entering another phase of growing. So, N is needed. She looks really well.. As for defol you are still not into pre flower. So, see the big fan leafs. Id get rid of them. As she goes into pre flower you don't want your energy been pushed into making bigger fan leafs. Have a look at this. You don't have to go the whole hog. But, do remove some of them bigger fan leafs. Making sure to leave 2 on top of each node to draw in energy...(fan leafs im talking about) also Any at the very end of your plant that's not blocking out light can also be left. Makes for very interesting read. Also, as you enter flowering a bit of silica will make for a stronger plant and has lots of other benefits. Here's the defoliation link. Just read and you can apply a small bit to your grow but, you'll get the jist of how important defol can be with fems....See there's a bit of a shine to her......https://www.growweedeasy.com/nebulas-flowering-stage-defoliation-tutorial....... If you need any more help regarding anything or more on what I said. Feel free to DM me or anyone here who replies to your answer with info that helps you. Good Growing pal

March 7. Neem oil lastnight. 1 liter watered each. It is extremely cold right now. Room got down to 12.5 lastnight. Tied down tops to encourage lower growth to push up faster. Mar 9. Plagron delivered their starter kit today which I only paid shipping for. If you see that link on growdiaries you should click it! no brainer. Mar 10. Watered 1.5 L each. Put a layer of fresh batmix on top of soil. Mar 11. Light Defoliation. Mar 13. Ordered another Fecida light. learned alot watching these plants grow, can clearly see they need 1 lamp each to reach their potential. I'm going for it. lets see if we can get over 100 grams per plant!

Mar 14. Watered. Doubled the lighting at the end of the day. now using 2x Fecida CR-600 130 watts each. starting with dimmers at 70%. PAR was looking real good. getting 8-900 on the centers and 4-500 on the sides of the plants at 70%. Will closely monitor! Mar 16. My plants have started flowering. NICE. Mar 17. Watered. Ordered Plagron Green Sensation to add to water starting next week. Let's see what we can do. .......noticed the beginnings of light burn on my tops. had the dimmers up to 75%. back down to 65% and raised them about 10 cm. keeping a close eye on it. Mar 19. Watered. Pulled a few big fan leaves off bottom. Mar 20. Plants stretched so much I had to put them directly on floor to get more room. Lights are now at around 45 cm again. Dimmer on left plant is at 90% and right at 75%. Par on center colas is around 850 on each.

Mar 21. Start of week 10. Adding Green Sensation to feeding this week. Late in the day decided to give a good inspection and primarily go thrips hunting. Found quite a few larvae on my leaves around 10, squished them with my fingers. Managed to get a photo of one! I dont wanna do it but I will neem oil again tonight. They are under control but not gone. Mar 22. Watered. Mar 24. Watered Mar 27. Watered. removed bottom branches from plant 1. gave em long enough to push up, think they were destined to be larf.

April 4th. Lacewings coming today, its been 14 days since neem oil. watered. April 5th. put up Chrysop cards. My mechanical timer did not turn off when it was supposed to. i've had it set from 8:30 - 20:30 since flowering started (accounting for daylight savings) and at 9:00 tonight the light was still on. I reset the timer and also put it on 8:00-20:00. April 6th. Watered. timer flipped at 7:57 this morning. April 8th. Timer seems fine again, raised lights up to around 45 cm Watered.

April 25. Switching to water only, should be soon now for a decent noob harvest. its not the biggest buds in the universe but the quality is looking good. The beneficial insects worked i'm pretty sure, haven't even thought about thrips in a few weeks. The smell is strong, and its not fruity its way more on the gasy dank side of the terpene spectrum. April 26. Watered. April 29. Watered April 30. Watered. LOTS of new flying things stuck to the blue cards all of a sudden. And obvious new leaf damage. I HATE BUGS.
