Jan 16 - Started germination process via the paper towel method for both seeds.
I am also changing up nutrients to try dry nutes instead of liquid nutes this go around just to see what happens. They appear a bit easier than liquid nutes and have heard good things about them. Will see.
I am also stepping away from autoflowers as I have just had rough luck with them since starting my growing. I am going to try just photoperiods this time and see what happens. I had great success with the photoperiod skunk #1 that I grew last time, so am hoping to have the same luck here.
I plan to use the red solo cup taco method again for seedlings. Inside the taco will be 100% FF Happy Frog. I have placed different red solo cups inside the fabric pots to form a mold and placeholder for the seedlings. This should alleviate the need to have to dig out a spot to transfer them into the fabric pots when I need to transfer them over.
Soil set up will be 50% FF Ocean Forest, 25% Happy Frog, 25% Perlite.
Lighting will be 18/6 from seedling to flower, then 12/12.
Jan 19 - Both seeds had about an inch of a taproot going. So I've moved them into the red solo's. Got my light at 22" and 50% dimmed, per recommendations.
1/21 - Both have broken soil and looking good so far. Will move them to veg in another few days. Also watered a few ounces each today as they were feeling dry.
1/23 - They have sprouted. Currently watering maybe 1-3 ounces per cup at this point. Likely will be transplanting them into the larger pots sometime later this week at the rate that they are moving along.
1/25 - Looking good so far. Watering about 3 ounces per cup. Planning to transplant tomorrow morning.
1/26 - Still looking good. Transplanted into the larger 3G fabric pots and watered with 64 ounces of pure water in each to let them settle in.
1/29 - Day 9 - Still a bit heavy. Going to wait another day or so before watering. Humidity has been pretty low the past week. They took to the transplant pretty well and are moving along.
1/30 - Day 10 - They were decently dry. Watered each with 32 ounces of water with Cal-Mag. Will likely keep this watering method for the next few weeks.
2/2 - Day 13 - Watered each with 32 ounces of water with CalMag. Also increased the dimmer from 50% to 60%.
2/5 - Day 16 - Watered each with 32 ounces of water with calmag.
2/8 - Day 19 - Watered with 32 ounces of water with calmag each.
2/9 - Day 20 - FIM'd both plants.
2/11 - Day 22 - They are both a little droopy today. Thinking the droop is two-fold. One from the stress of the FIM and likely because I needed to nute them sooner. Also noticed some rust spots on LSD and a little on hibiscus. I've gone ahead and added the HF All Purpose at 3.5 Tbsp for the whole pot each (1.5 Tbsp per gallon per feeding recommendations). Also watered each with 32 ounces of water with calmag. Hopefully that will perk that back up and stop the calcium def.
2/14 - Day 25 - Looking droopy again on Day 3. Will likely increase water by a bit next watering. 32 ounces of water with calmag each again this morning. Seems like they have started recovery from my FIM attempt.
2/16 - Day 27 - Looked a bit droopy again on Day 2. So I added fertilizer (3.5 TBsp per pot) and watered each with 32 ounces. I'll up this to 64 ounces next watering on either Saturday or Sunday, depending on how they look.
2/19 - Day 30 - Watered each with 64 ounces of water.
2/22 - Day 33 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water. Looking decent so far.
2/25 - Day 36 - Fertilized and watered both with 64 ounces of water. I realized I had been under fertilizing them by 1 tablespoon and probably not scratching it into the soil as well as I could. Tried to do better this time and will continue with that method next time.
2/28 - Day 39 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water. Still coming along nicely, I think. A few leaves showing issues but I think those were because I needed to add more nutes the first few weeks. One or two more weeks and will move to flowering.
3/3 - Day 42 - Fertilized and watered with 64 ounces of water.
3/6 - Day 45 - Watered with 64 ounces of water each.
3/9 - Day 48 - Added 1 TBps additional fertilizer this time to see if it helps with the yellowing. Watered both with 64 ounces of water.
3/12 - Day 51 - Watered with 64 ounces each.
3/15 - Day 54 - Fertilized with HF All Purpose and watered each with 64 ounces of pure watered. Pruned off a couple of dead leaves each.
3/19 - Day 58 - They were still droopy and bone dry. I might try smaller watering more frequently. Maybe 32 ounces every other day to see how that works. I also reduced the lighting from 80% to about 70% to see if that helps at all. Watered each with 64 ounces and will be flipping them to flowering later tonight.
3/22 - Day 61 - I have switched the lighting over to 12/12 on 3/20 and am running with the lights on overnight. This means I just water in the evening instead of the mornings going forward. I also scaled back the lighting from 75-80% on the dimmer back to about 60% to see if I can alleviate the droopiness. I also fertilized with the HF Fruit and Flower fertilizer and went with 64 ounces of water into both.
3/26 - Day 65 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water. Coming along nicely.
5/4 - Day 103 - Put in some netting to provide a bit of support. LSD is doing fine and standing strong but the Hibiscus is getting very top heavy and most of her branches are falling over due to bud weight. Also used the netting to spread out some of the various branches on LSD to provide more light. Fertilized and watered both with 64 ounces of water.
5/8 - Day 107 - Watered with 64 ounces of water each.
5/12 - Day 111 - Fertilized and watered both with 64 ounces of water. Probably 2-3 weeks out from harvest based on how things are looking.
5/16 - Day 115 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water.
5/20 - Day 119 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water. Going straight water at this point for the next two weeks to harvest. Planning harvest June 3rd or June 10th.
6/1 - Day 131 - Last watering before harvest. 64 ounces each. Hibiscus is falling over and is ready to go. Lots of cloudy trichomes. I have turned the lights off for approximately 48-72 hours of darkness before harvest. I plan to cut her down the morning of 6/4.
Grew like I expected it. Had no major issues that I didn't expected. I believe most of the browning was due to using new nutrients. Will post pictures eventually. expecting probably 2-3 ounces from her when dry.
6/4 - At this point, I have just down a very high level wet trim and removed the fan leaves. Will be drying this out and then plan to do a more concise dry trim here in a week or so. I will also weigh things out at that point and will post accordingly.
6/17 - Finished drying and weighed it out. 79.6 grams dry weight. Will cure for another week before sampling.

hey i followed you cause we are doing a similar looking grow. i think in liters not ounces, but I think maybe you are watering with too much water? They look overwatered to me, i'm only using 1.5 liters per plant when i water with a slightly bigger grow bag than yours also, 15 liter. Basically doing 10% of the size of the pot. maybe try 1.1 liters of water for a bit? good luck!
@tromus_teh_tranq, thanks dude, i am learning that this is all a balancing act. juggling the environment, light, and watering into a hopeful trifecta of harmony. there is definately no one fits all solution i'm discovering!
@Gridderz, Thanks! That was the day after watering. Definitely perked back up. I think the droopiness is coming from light stress. if i dial the dimmer back to around 60%, they seem to handle it much better. I had been running it at 75-80%. Still playing with that a bit. Your grow is looking solid too! Very healthy!
