Seeds placed in Root Riot cubes on 1/8/2017 at 4pm and all three popped just before dawn on 1/10/2017. Left in the germination tray until 1/14/2017 and transplanted into 2 gal smart pots filled with Canna Coco and 25% perlite which will eventually be placed in a drip system. I still have a Dinafem Sour Diesel Auto in a root riot that has not sprouted. Seed appears swelled and split. Will give a few more days. Seedlings currently under 3 x 23w 6500k cfl on a workbench awaiting their final 4x4 room with a 600w MH/HPS to be ready. Just waiting for a couple fans to arrive. Upon advice, waiting to begin light nute feeding until cotyledon to start to yellow. This is my first seed grow and probably tackling way to much as I have another grow going thats currently in flowering that I started from clones.
1/16 pulled up Sour Diesel seed, seed swell up started to split and then stalled and hasn't popped in 8 days. Placed back in Root Riot and back into the nursery. I dropped a Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookies Auto to add to this grow. If the Sour Diesel actually sprouts I have room for up to 6 plants in my setup.
Look at those big dark nuggets! Ive heard of a water cure, but never a "quick wash"! Thats neat. Bet its like the water cure but much faster. I wonder how flavor retention will stack up to an air cure. Can't wait for the smoke report
@Agronomist, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I saw too many trusted grower testimonials in other forums that I had to try it. The trichs really stood out after washing. The washing is supposed to enhance flavor by rinsing away 3.5 months of dust, over spray, insects, etc and create a smoother smoke. I sprayed diluted milk during flowering as a pm preventative (nasty cold rain rollled through for 3 straight days) so I wanted to ensure any residue was washed away.
The bud wash turned out great. It was unreal the amount of dust and debris that floated out of the buds. Drip dried the buds on a "clothes line" with a fan blowing over for 24hrs and dried out the excess moisture from the wash and then placed into my drying racks. Smoke was very smooth. Was an interesting experiment but not quite sure it was worth the extra effort. Maybe if you have a pet hair situation or really dusty grow area then I could see incorporating this into your harvest routine but I think it was a one time thing for myself.
Being 2560 miles away from my stash is rough, but I have met quite a few kind people here on Maui and have sampled some nice home grown intense sun raised buds. HI needs to get with the times
