The THC bomb really took off this week and the. Blue cheese is catching up. Pretty impressed with GSC growth being just 12 days old. Gorilla Glue is still developing a very compact structure. Installing RO system tonight!! No more trips to the store for RO (my tap clocks in at 500+ ppm). I picked up a portable ro system on amazon and installing in my laundry room. With my diagnosis this will be a life saver as I am slowly losing strength and mobility. 2/7 Portable RO system is what every grower in high ppm tap area needs. It truly comes out 0 to 1 and I think the 1 is from residual ferts in the jug. I bought the 150 gph liquagen 6 stage dual use. Best $150 I've spent considering I was spending .55 per gallon and now I just have about $60/yr filter costs.
2/3 after doing quite a bit of research, I believe my GG may have a whorled phyllotaxy mutation. Conflicting information but mostly seems to be positive and possibly increased yields. Time will tell. My elcheapo amazon mh bulb is pulsing from Blue to pinkish hues. Going to support my local hydro and pick up a digilux. I can't run hortilux as I have an older phantom digital ballast.
2/4 hydro store out of digilux. Ended up going with Ushio hilux amh-600. I'll break out the meter after this bulb gets a few dozen hours on her. Change saucers and risers to place each plant separately giving me flexibility to raise a pot as needed as the light will be getting raise soon. Right now it's at 14"
2/5 began lst on TB. Rain storm came through had brief boutique of high humidity in the high 90s but is now dropping. Raised lights up 2". The TB is developing a massive trunk, about the girth of a marksalot marker
2/6 Preflowers appeared of the TB. GG opening up now and able to see inside her structure. The mutation appears to have caused it to grow what appears like 3 solid mains, almost as if the really slow growth and mangled mess in the beginning may have topped itself. This is going to get interesting...
2/7 damn weather is killing me. My RH peaked at 98 and is now down to 67. TB clawing on a couple leaves. Keeping an eye out for nitrogen toxicity and will monitor her closely before taking action. Raised lights up 2" and replaced the standard oscillating fan with a tower oscillating fan. Moves a lot more air around the tent without disturbing the plants with nothing more than a breeze. On my quest for a dehumidifier.
Look at those big dark nuggets! Ive heard of a water cure, but never a "quick wash"! Thats neat. Bet its like the water cure but much faster. I wonder how flavor retention will stack up to an air cure. Can't wait for the smoke report
@Agronomist, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I saw too many trusted grower testimonials in other forums that I had to try it. The trichs really stood out after washing. The washing is supposed to enhance flavor by rinsing away 3.5 months of dust, over spray, insects, etc and create a smoother smoke. I sprayed diluted milk during flowering as a pm preventative (nasty cold rain rollled through for 3 straight days) so I wanted to ensure any residue was washed away.
The bud wash turned out great. It was unreal the amount of dust and debris that floated out of the buds. Drip dried the buds on a "clothes line" with a fan blowing over for 24hrs and dried out the excess moisture from the wash and then placed into my drying racks. Smoke was very smooth. Was an interesting experiment but not quite sure it was worth the extra effort. Maybe if you have a pet hair situation or really dusty grow area then I could see incorporating this into your harvest routine but I think it was a one time thing for myself.
Being 2560 miles away from my stash is rough, but I have met quite a few kind people here on Maui and have sampled some nice home grown intense sun raised buds. HI needs to get with the times
