Solo cup grows. These girls will be grown in space buckets and will remain in these solo cups. My intention is to keep them short so they can stay in the space buckets after spraying. Plan to grab their fresh feminized pollen and hit some branches of some of my other grows to get a few feminized auto seeds (yes, I'm playing). I figure if I cross a couple really strong genetics, I should get some really strong genetics. Also, I'll let the feminized pollen pollinate the remainder of the plant, giving me some selfed seeds. Also, should be decent genetics, considering both of these beans came from the breeder, they should be F1s at least (I think the SS is F4?). Again, I'm new at breeding, but I have 3 sets of regular auto seeds from a previous grow that are drying, so I'll be posting a lot of my experiment here. Thanks for reading.
Solo Cup Grows to hit with STS, getting fem pollen, selfing rest of the plants.
Temps are cool, so is the soil. Definitely playing a part in slower growth. Also, the SS had some issues germinating, but is doing fine.
Still struggling to overcome VPD issues throughout tent, which prompted me to pull these two and move them to the space bucket. Despite the leaf ending, they will be fine. The PP has a pretty sizeable root ball already, only being 3 inches tall. These gals will be fine.
They are doing great since moving to the space bucket. PP has a nice root ball through the solo cup. The SS is starting to poke roots through the bottom of the cup. Both are doing great in the space bucket. Need to order an additional light so I can create another space bucket, or do I want to allow these two ladies to self and cross pollinate in the same space bucket? That would make for some wild seeds!! Who knows what you got, but it's one or the other or a cross. But they would be fems, so what would it hurt? This is an experiment/project. I should have some fun with it.
2/8 Moved the Sour Stomper over to the new trash can/space bucket. The problem is low PAR (375 max maybe?) and blurple lights. But, I repurposed the light, which made some flower last year, so not real concerned. Yes, the blurple will not have a robust firm nug, but I'm raising seed here. I just need this thing to survive about 90 days and give me some pollen and seeds. The purple punch has a really nice root ball. I'm keeping both of these girls in solo cups but allowing the roots to grow down through some mesh I installed in the bottom of these cups. They sit in a coffee cup with about 1/2 - 1" of nutes or water in the bottom. I change out the water weekly and replace the cup/reservoir. It's a combo soil/hydro grow without the pump and such. I don't have a lot of room in the bucket, but I want to maximize what I can.
I actually bought a spider farmer 1000 light, still in the box. I was afraid it would put off too much heat for that space bucket atmosphere. But, I may end up swapping it out. Hate blurple, but the spider farmer LED does not have a dimmer on it, so it's full on out of the box. The only option is to raise and lower the light, but a space bucket only allows for so much height. We'll see.
2/13 - Day 35 ending week 5. The Purple Punch is doing great. I added some LST to the bottom two rungs. The Sour Stomper is a little behind since later germination, and stunted a week from overwatering. This morning SS started to show some signs of growing again, so we'll see. The PP root ball is HUGE. The SS roots are starting to stretch to the juice. I plan to top both of these mainly because of the STS. I need as many bud sites on this dwarfy thing as I can get.
I'll start STS soon.
2/22 - Day 44 (or so). Moved the large UFO light to the space can and bought a new small UFO light for the space bucket. Now everyone has more light. I may swap the girls locations, because the PP is growing so much quicker and the can has much more room. I'll get some side pictures later this week.
2/27 - Day 49 - I can definitely see some of the STS flower starting to look different with some growth. Definitely use a paint brush in the future, not a spray bottle.
2/27 - The little seedlings are sharing the big space bucket until I can move them to the big tent. These are Gorilla Cookies and Sour Stomper crosses that I bred, and I'm looking for a couple females to make fem seeds.

3/1/23 Day 51 - Added DWC bucket to purple punch.
3/2 - Nanners showing on Sour Stomper. Purple punch also, just don't have a picture. Both got STS again today.
Both girls have nanners starting, but when do I quit applying the solution? These are solo cup girls, very short. My hope is for some S1 seeds and harvest some female pollen.
STS only needs 3 applications 5-7 days apart with a 2-3 millimole concentration...
no more is needed.
i did this with only 2 foliar applications at day 1 of flip and then 5 days later. I ended upw with about 1500 seeds on my 2 very small plants. you can see in my 'making fem seeds...' diary for scale reference. i only did 2 applications because i accidnetally OD'd it on the first one.
you cause the 'change' long before you see nanners.. the change had to occur if you see nanners. you stop applying it long before you see male bits. CS is different. You need a lot more exposure with CS.
fyi, fem pollen is quite 'light' ... even hard to see it. but it is there... collect it or shake the plant over another plant... you may not see mch but it doesn't take much either. They won't produce like a male... but it's mor ethan enough for 3000 seeds from tiny plants invovled.
Day 66 - These girls are loving the hybrid DWC. The cola is getting fat and stinky. Purple Punch has purple pollen sacks! I plan to grow these girls for another month if they'll make it, to harvest pollen and self some seeds. At this point, there is no pollen, but close.
Day 70 - The PP has a LOT more flowers on her underside. But, both colas are fat. Not sure about pollen or self seeds at this point. Keep feeding her, she's got lots of time to stay on the tit.
3/27 Day 77 - Trying to keep these girls fed and alive long enough to get some pollen and pollinate the new girl in the tent.
Let me introduce you to a Gorilla Cookie male and Sour Stomper female cross. I harvested these seeds a couple months ago. Planted 2, they shot up super quick. I noticed the male within 21 day, confirmed solid on day 22. So, The young lady is on day 33 and showing lots of nice flowers. I moved her to a soil/DWC hybrid this weekend, so I can maximize her growth before she full quits the vegetation stage. I've already showered her once with pollen, but I'll hit her again next week. Gonna get me a bunch of fem'd GCXSS seeds. Well, maybe 150 from a small plant. More than I'll ever plant.
Day 81 - These girls stink and are so ready to be chopped. I'll chop and harvest in a couple days when I have time and a clean workspace for the pollen. The purple punch is not showing much pollen, if any. Looking like small pods. The sour stomper is doing great. She's pollinated her room mate and I'll shake enough pollen out for a couple more runs. May pollinate some of those DWC ladies. hmmm, make a bunch of sour stomper or purple punch crosses.
Not grown for harvest. I treated the bottom two nodes with STS. I got the sax, but not enough growth on this midget to get any pollen. I topped the cola and I'm smoking it. It's smooth and grapey. I'll grow it again, but for full potential. She's too perdy like she is.
I've grown this one before. An absolute favorite. What a beautiful hybrid. I use as one of my 'work-weed' smokes to make sure I don't drop out and focus when I need to focus. #StomperGang
This was a project for fem pollen by introducing STS on the flowers. For a midget (solo cup), her flowers really blew up when I stuck her in the DWC. I let this thing go almost until death. I harvested a small amount of fem pollen into envelopes and I was able to pollinate the girl in the tent. So, she was a success. As for the cola, oh man, she got fat and hard and dried crusty on the shell and still curing on the inside. I did grab 'just the tip' and I smoked it. Nice hit and feel. I'll give a smoke report once I let it cure. It will literally smoke out about 3 grams. I'll grow her again in my DWC and get me some fat ass colas. I still have about 6 ounces from my previous stomper run. It's curing, so I ain't complaining. I hope all your buds are StinkyBudz!
