Ending week 2 flower feeling great about this run...this is as lush as I've ever seen plants grow...not a burnt tip to speak of. For those that haven't read all my entries, this run is a growing method/media/nutrition test in search of the best combination of yield and quality, and so far, the results are very interesting. The fully organic plant (A) is much smaller than the plants receiving nutrients, but the nodes are stacking up nicely on it, and the stem rub is phenomenal, so we'll see what the final numbers are after lab results. So far, I'm in love with the syn-organic plant (B) - it's a little less stretchy than the fully synthetic plants but has the stem rub of the organic plant (much funkier than the fully synthetics). The lab tests after harvest and the smoke test will be the proof in the pudding, but if I didn't have access to lab testing, I would select the syn-organic plant (B) for my breeding project no questions asked. We'll see. Anyhow, VPD has been steady between 1.1-1.4 and the HPS light is running 900 in the middle and 550 (ish) in the far corners. As you can see by most of the pics, they are in need of a defol in a bad way. I got two of them tonight (filled half a 30gal trash bag) and will knock out a couple more tomorrow and the last one Tuesday. It was very hard to wait until week 3 to defoliate them but I'm a student of being patient and letting the plants stop stretching and buds set before really trimming them up. Next week's update will look much better regarding the excess foliage. Added Mag Pro (5% base strength), cut Epsom Salt by 40%, added Bud Candy @ 5ml/g, and upped pk 13/14 to 15% base strength this week...things are about to start getting heavy. Vegged about a week longer than I should have so they reached a little higher than I like, but the scrog net is still supporting them well...I foresee having to tie a few of them up before it's said and done. So far, this strain has been a pleasure to grow...the resin glands give me a nice lemon tart aroma on my fingers when I rub them and the room is already giving off a heavy lemony funk, especially during lights off. I'm excited about harvesting some pollen and some S1 seeds from the winner.
