NFSOT My first photoperiod grow. I'm going to try it with 18 hours of light for the first few weeks and then switch to 12/12 after a few weeks depending on growth. The plan is a SCROG grow, but it depends on how it grows.
I'm really looking forward to this new growing experience for me 😁
I have freshly prepared the Living Soil bed from Almicanna. I worked in the cut plants into the soil, and I saw a lot of worms and tiny organisms. The soil is alive 😁😁😍
I planted the Malawi in the soil today! Let the magic begin 😍😁

NFSOT Hopefully, she'll make it. She got a bit too dry for me after germination in the Jiffy and started to droop. But after watering, she was up again soon 😉
NFSOT She's recovered well and is growing 😁
Every other time I water her with compost tea.
The soil is full of life, compost worms, and many tiny creatures.
Just how it should be.

NFSOT She looks healthy, a nice rich green 😁
It seems to me that she's growing slowly, I think that's because I've only grown autos so far, which grow faster 😉

NFSOT She's growing well now. I removed the lower small shoots. I'll let her grow a bit more and then I'll top her.
I'm already looking forward to the next weeks 😁
Day 48 - Today I topped her. Now she gets a few days of rest and I'll watch how she develops.

NFSOT I think she's doing well. I don't know yet how long I'll keep her in the growth phase. I'll then attach the SCROG net directly above the edge of the bed.
I'm very grateful for tips 😀

NFSOT I'm weaving the branches into my SCROG net now.
I'm going to let them grow a bit more before I send them into flowering.
I'm really excited to see how it goes 😁
What do you think? When should I switch to flowering?

NFSOT I will start defoliating in the next few days.
Then I'll send them into flowering.
I feel a bit lost, it's my first photoperiod grow and also my first SCROG.
But you learn by doing 😁
I already know that I have a mesh spacing that's too small for my net.
Next time I'll take a net with larger mesh spacing.
I set them to 12/12 today.
I'm excited 🤣😁

NFSOT She's almost ready 😍😍 She will be harvested in the next few days 😁
Hello, let me share my opinion :)
1. I would make sure to carefully thread the leaves and everything through the individual openings of the net, even if they are small, so you don't have moisture problems when everything is cramped under the net. (The leaves will get even bigger since you've switched to flowering now.)
2. I would quickly dim the lamp; your top leaves are curling up, the tips are standing up strongly, and they're curling away. What I've also noticed is that the upper small leaves look so narrow, which is 100% due to too strong intensity. I saw this with my friend two weeks ago, and since he turned down his Sanlight, everything is looking nice again. Feel free to check out my profile for the question; your plants look identical.
3. Would you mind sharing which Almicanna amendments you're using? I'm really curious! I have my big tent running with Florganics, and I'm excited to see how that goes. But I would also like to test other living soils. I really like it with beds. It would be interesting to see if you can do a SOG like that. I have mine in 11L pots, 10 weeks of veg, and everything looks good. Hope I could help you a bit. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Cheers 👌
@@TagX1,
Did you find Pablo on Telegram?
I think you can find him there under @almicanna.
He is really very knowledgeable and helpful.
After this grow, I will fill my bed a bit more. As it is now, it's annoying to defoliate because the net is exactly at the height of the frame of the bed.
She will be so huge compared to your previous auto and the growth when switching to flower will blow you away. I grew ace seeds malawi gold back in the day... I recently started a breeding journey using a Male and Female Guawi from ace seeds, both resembled their malawi mother more than the other 8 seeds i popped. I cloned and used with 7 other strains thus far. Currently growing f2's and other f1 hybrids. My new strains all grow bigger and faster than anything I've ever grown, some heaviest yeilders, and some first time flavors, and i believe its all from that malawi mother.
@GorillaSince97,
Wow that sounds really good 😁 I'm curious to see how big it will get.
And growing new strains myself would be awesome too 😁
Should I top it above the 4th node? What do you think?
@NFSOT, I would not top your plant yet because it seems to be having some rooting issues. I see it as lazy and limp. it should be stretching more. the leaves are twisting some and are darker green. could be overwatering, could be heat stress, could be bugs, could be not enough aeration in the medium. I'd wait to top based on height rather than number of nodes, i tend to remove the lowest few branches later on before flower.
@GorillaSince97,
Yeah, I had problems after germination. It almost dried out 😬 but I think it has recovered well now. It's definitely growing better now. It's stretching more. I removed the small lower shoots. I'm going to let it grow a bit more, then I'll top it. What do you think?
@@Weedelfe,
For me personally, it's a very good and strong weed. Great for the day or for gaming.
I feel euphoric and energized 😁 already after the first hit, my mouth gets dry 😅
@GreenCosmos, thanks.
I'm totally happy. I'm curious how much it will weigh when dry 😁
I'm convinced about living soil. The last auto was a monster. I've never achieved that in a pot!
Looking well pal. Can I ask. How's the tent? I got a HB 150cm2, and it was a pure let down. Idk cause it was so big, it was just badly put together. As all the stuff used to make were of very high quality. But, it looked as though ppl had played a round of darts on it. Am wanting a new tent for co2 growing. And 1 thing about it, was it kept a very tight seal. Is there any light leaks you noticed, how's the build and so on?
@gottagrowsometime,
I can't say anything bad about the HB. I'm very satisfied. There are no light leaks, except for the ventilation holes. But you can seal those with the right covers. Of course, not completely, but hardly any light comes out. My grows have all gone wonderfully.
@NFSOT, nice. It's why I bought one. As they had good reviews.
Mind you it's hard to put a 150cm2 220h up. So, I wouldn't like to even approach to put one together.
put the light closer! see how the top growth looks the same as the lower growth that is covered? this plant is not getting enough light, and that is why it is so small.
@GorillaSince97,
Light is 40cm away from plant, just like Sanlight recommends. But i'll gibe it a try.
I did it on a Auto but then it was too close and burn the plant 🙈
