Skunktek Sour Diesel

Finally got 1 of two rooted and growing the other I'm waiting on. It will be behind the schedule. I'll include it later. This is a clone cut if Sour Diesel from Skunktek. Heard a lot of good things about it and has an old school feel to it for sure. Let's see how it turns out for me starting in hydro while it's winter! Stay tuned

Things were slow for several days due to high water temps and root issues. Iv been using hydrogen peroxide regularly on the roots as well as adding it to the pot. Plants been topped and trained with clips but I have removed them for now. It's doing really well now with a lot of new white roots. 2nd clone has finally rooted. Wow it took a long time. It's now in a 1 gallon pot and has already taken to the mix. Forgot to get a pic as of today but will update again. Stay tuned.

Things have gotten much better. I got my environment cooler and will do my best to maintain. The plant is doing great and I'm spreading her out nicely. I expect to flip the light schedule in one week or so. Stay tuned!

An absolute turn around in the root zone. Got the temps down some but the hydrogen peroxide must have helped a long the way. She is doing so great no. Spread out and ready to flip to flower hopefully tonight! 3/9 we will see check next update for sure but that's the plan. The clone that was a late arrival is doing great now too. I'll have a nice offset harvest between the 2 sours in the future. 🙏 😀 Stay tuned!

This was flipped on 3/9 to 12/12 schedule! Doing very very well. I am very excited to get this sour diesel into flower! She stinks like a skunk already! Crazy! Added hygrozyme to the pot for now. Seeing how it works with my mix. May go back to peroxide if needed but for now I'm going to eliminate the old dead root material hopefully using the hygrozyme. Temps have been very solid. Stay tuned

Update added later for my own note Incase I forget. Day 1 of flower was counted 3/27 officially has flowers beginning! Absolutely incredible week. Plant flipped on 3/9 and still today 3/24 is NOT fully in flower yet. Any day now though. Still adding hydrogen peroxide when the res gets low with plain water. I put 30ml to a 1/2 gallon and top the res back off, seems to be drinking about 1/4 or more of a gallon per day. That's going to possibly quadruple in the coming weeks once buds form. Tons of bud sites here. Plants been very strong. Stay tuned

Another really good week. We officially have flower sites as of Monday 3/27 first day of flower!!!! She is such a monster now! I am really excited to move into flower. I have the plant opened up some more and hoping I can penetrate beneath the surface without side lighting this round. We will see ! The other sour clone I had running, same skunktek is doing well and just got setup with blumat Tropf drip Irrigation! Stay tuned

What a week again. This plant is a beast ! Really happy with the way she grows now it's time to find out what she is really about in flower! Very excited to see the progression. I think she finally is about out of stretch. What a spread. I had 3 branches get away from me just a touch but the majority is even. Still running lower wattage at a lower height around 8-12inches at an average. 4 panels I'm between 200-250w I will plug in my wattage meter tomorrow and confirm that exact # iv been riding at for a few weeks now. Educated guess so far and PPFD photone app is 650-725 in the center and 500-525 to the outsides at 10 inches. Iv been rotating regularly. Roots are in check, did not get a photo it's tough to pick up now without to much messing around. I suck up the left over and flush then suck out. *Regular nutrient change every Sunday or Monday. At 2-3 days I add 1/2 gallon of water only with 30ml of hydrogen peroxide. Then 2 days later typically friday I add another 1/2 gallon and 30ml of hydrogen peroxide. Then come Sunday I repeat the nutrient cycle. She could use higher ppm. But I always keep my plants slightly lower than normal. My #s can be misleading as I actually have 125 average PPM in my tap water. I normally have 700-750ppm but subtract 125 and as low as 575 down to 525 on all the Cultivars I run and all the media, coco and hydro. **Sour diesel #2 in veg. In auto drip feed water only and hydrogen peroxide. Hand watering every 5 days with nutrients at the same ppm as low as 525-575 through veg and flower to complete past grows, some not documented. Some get fed constantly with nutrients never a water only. Some can water only 5+ days before nutrients some can go 7-14 days without nutrients added (hydro can go the same process I said above but instead of repeat you continue water only for 7 more days.) That I don't recommend all the way through flower but I have done it in past it's amazing what they can retain and use for long periods. Stay tuned. I hope she continues to play nice !

Good week nothing bad to report. Leaving for 4 days and hope to return to good things. Have a helper stopping Friday to top off everything until I get back. Blumat working well on the sour clone that was flipped recently. Dwc pot momma doing excellent. Stay tuned

Momma sour in flower: Wow, she stinks really bad now! Talk about dank and there it hasn't really developed buds just yet. Once these fatten and get rolling she will be tough to control the smell. Plants absolutely incredible. Very tough girl. Things are on auto pilot. Same schedule, Sunday or Monday I add fresh nutrients. By Wednesday Thursday area I add 1 gallon of water only and 60 ml of 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide. This has been working very well. I can go 4 full days without needing water. Prefer to top off after a 3rd day to keep plenty in the pot for her though.clone #2 & 3 doing great. Sour clone #2 on auto drip system gravity fed with water only and hand watered nutrients every 5+ days is doing fantastic. Saving energy and nutrients/water. She has a nice spread. Getting light down in the canopy will be easier with the one. Day 1 of FLOWER for #2 4/26/23 Sour clone #3 is doing great and is now in it's own tent awaiting transplant to larger pot! Stay tuned!

I have done nothing but top off or provide a full fresh pot of nutrients. This plants been doing pretty good. Some minor adjustments could be made but overall she is heading for a solid finish with an amazing skunky smell right now. I will be adding UV light any day now through finish. It will soon have this 4x2 to itself as the Mac1 will be coming down in less than a week. Doing my best to keep this one rolling to finish. Couple clones are doing good in stages nearly 1 month apart. Stay tuned

It has needs. It doesn't like high humidity because I had mold during dry in one of these plants I had to toss. The next round I kept the mold away and got 2.5 oz roughly. The smoke is ok, skunky earthly very slight diesel but I mean very very slight now after it finally sat un touched in a back, inside of a bucket for a week or so. The effects of the strain are intense though it really hits hard I. The head and behind the eyes. Sativa like high for sure like it should be. Just didn't have the flavor profile to match the sour diesel I know. But it's part me not being able to maintain a perfect grow. It was decent but I had 1 or 2x where it did over dried while I was unable to tend to it. I would find a different sour diesel cut before choosing this one.
