Week 5 recap. -Did major defoliation to several of the plants. Also added some LST on some branches. -GC1 is getting bloom and cal mag. Also all plants got updated carboload and silica. -All other plants getting water. TD2 ppm is around 1500. LaChem is 2800 still. Just watering nothing else. Might try a compost tea. We will see -Watering 2 times a day for TD who are in preflower and using tons of water. Each time about 1 liter or so. Week 6 -Day 35 Noticed yellowing on leaves in various areas. Also have brown tips and leaf edges. Most of leaves have yellow tips. Added cal mag to every watering. Lowered ph to 6.2 due to worry about to much nitrogen. Now ima raise watering ph to 6.5 and see what it looks like. Also a compost tea is brewing for tomorrow night. Been pruning some leaves off nodes keeping canopy going. My best looking plant is currently TD1. She was first and has pushed really well. Only Topped her and cleaned up skirt for air flow. We will see on final yields. -GC1 has bounced back. She looks good. She is getting 700ppm of sensi bloom/cal mag mix. -All others got 200 cal/mag water ppm. All plants drinking around 1 gallon a day. And watering is 2 times a day. -Day 41 Fed 900ppm mix. Sensi A and B, Overdrive only 2ml, a lil cal mag.. Pushing up heat in tent to increase vpd so that this feed can be used to the fullest. 1.2 vpd. Misc. I finished the compost tea and fed that on day 40. GC1 is the tallest plant with two collas stretching and budding at same time. La chems are stacking very dense wide large buds. TD2 is filling the main stems with buds all along it. So excited.. I do believe when i dropped light down and put it on max that i burnt the tops and bleached some of the leaves. I have since increased light height to 2 feet. Will continue to monitor any damage.

When do you trelis your plants? When do you do minor defoliation on fan leaves? Right now pistol hairs on just showing on a few plants. Also once terlis is up you dont remove plants from tent? Right now my run off on gc1 is only 300ish for 3 days. When should i up feed.

Right so now would be a good time to position your plants how you want them for your trellis and get any remaining lst done if need be because you're ready. You want them trained to an even canopy before you trellis (before flower flip). Also once your plants grow into your trellis your limited on movement.... pretty much don't move them. I'd say your feed is where you need it to be and your plants will tell you otherwise but you can start increasing once bloom starts obviously. Good luck and cheers.

So.. 6th week into it. My leaves have various brown spots and yellowing spots in no particular spot. There is some browning on leaf edges. Also tips are up. I am thinking cal mag and to much heat. But not sure. I lifted light up and so far nothing. Also started adding cal mag .

I'm not sure on this one but it doesn't look like light burn. Wind burn on the other hand could be the case cause your fan is really close. If I were you I would wait to see if the calmag helps and if it doesn't try setting fan on oscillation, lowest setting and as far as possible in your tent. Good luck on your grow. Hope your ladies heal soon

Hi, Thanks in advance for the answers. My green crack auto from seedsman is 61 inches tall and is now beginning to fill the stems in with large buds. I was told that it was to stretched and my light was to far away. Is this a bad thing? I kinda wanted stretch cause more fill in

Looks fine to me. It's all about individual preference with how tall you want it. Some strains will fill a 3x3 on its own if trained right. That girl is fully flowering, so it's not gonna grow any taller now it's just fattening up. Enjoy the process.

Black and brown lower canopy. Doesnt get much light. Weak stems. Yellowing on lower canopy proceeded by dying leaves. Im uping my phosphorus intake. Its all 6 plants in the grow effected. Hoping resovior didnt get mold. Was in closed container stored out of light. Soil temps 68

you can't mix a sanitizing agent with something like "piranha" .. you've just killed the beneficial microbes with the h2o2. i don't see the damage you speak of so it's hard to give an opinion. on the surface it seems like you've made a lot of assumptions based on inductive reasoning. low P will cause some blueish hue in the leaves. if it advances, you will see dark blotches low on plant. algea growign on top is no big deal. more frequent irrigations is a potential problem, not 10-20% runoff (or even more if you ahve good drainage qualities). Soilless growers give 10-20% runoff every single irrigaiton with zero ramification, so don't attribute your problem to that unless you were dumping 10x more water than necessary through it. that would only drown roots temporarily.. too frequent irrigation invites microbial growth in rootzone because it remains too wet the entire time. you can water too little and cause this too -- the lowe areas of substrate may not get very moist, but the top will remain wet which isn't good. Looks liek coco.. so stick to 30% perlite and do make sur you have at least 10% runoff as that is not a problem. it is a proper irigation habit for coco. if you want to do frequent irrigations, plant size must match the pot size. you still have to wait for some minimum weight loss (water being used) before you can re-irrigate. if the pot is too large, you have to wait. if the plant drinks enough fast enough relative to water capacity of pot (25%? 33% water-weight loss?), then you can re-irrigate. it's not just as simple as more frequently dumping water on it.. the contexxt must jive for that sort of technique. i'd get some runs in with zero problems with a normal, meat and potatoes methods then try somethign more sophisticated when you have a good baseline to compare and see whether all the extra hubbabaloo is worth it -- from what i read 2-3 irrigations per day will match any "hydro" method's growth rate. diminishing returns after that. even so, i'd recommend a good wet/dry cycle early on. seedlings and smaller plants wont drink fast enough, too often, to justify frequent irrigations, and there is benefit to stressing the roots slightly early on... they will be more robust and deeper if you follow the basics -- water entire thing until 10% runoff or more... wait for top layer to dry (pot will feel light) and repeat. by allowing top layer to dry out, roots will drive downward instead of growing more superficial roots... when you get near flip or enough vege time as passed, frequent irrigations can be more effective with a robust rootzone. roots form differently under different conditions.. very wet will have fewer fine hairs. dryer will form a more fibrous mass of roots with greater absorption capabilities. as long as there's enough "dryback" (poorly chosen term by whomever out there. it's not drying off, lol) you can re-irrigate relatively safely. you may get algea if light hits teh soil. if the canopy is full this won't happen as easily. algea doesn't harm plant... is superficial and is not much of a concern.

@Seedsman, BTW this is the toof decay x walter white auto. I don't see that on your strains to properly add.

Yea I'm looking at the pots in your pics now, try watering with ro water only, your tips look burnt and I'd say some of your other problems could be toxicity not deficiency. I saw your question so I thought I'd come and have a look at your diary. Looking great with everything else bro, good luck with the rest of your grow :)

If you thinks she's too tall just use some wire to tie the tall branches down abit.
Ned_Schneebly

Could you possibly have been overwatering to cause your root rot? Personally I wouldn't want any run off growing in soil, if you are using bottle nutes then you could let some run off out to test the pH and nute content everyone once in a while. Personally I think it sounds like overwater. What pots are they in and how do you water?
BobtheBUDbuilder
BobtheBUDbuilder
@Ned_Schneebly, soil claims you cant over water. but the letting the water sit in the trays was a bad idea. as a new grower i wasn't aware of that. i had researched issues but that one i had forgot. I used worm castings that are questionable. The dying leafs are still slowly happening on TD1 but its slow. Going to finish watering with the H202 and then treat with trantula and pirahana for a week or 2 depending. they should recover just hoping it slows down.
Ned_Schneebly
Ned_Schneeblyweek 10
And the weak stem question can you elaborate? Are they holding the buds nicely or wilting under weight? I have 1 auto out of 8 atm that just seems to have kinda flimsy stems, still looks like it will hold well along as I don't move it too much in flower. :)
BobtheBUDbuilder
BobtheBUDbuilder
@Ned_Schneebly, i had to wrap the branches even with minimal bud weight they were just leaning over side ways. Think its phosphorus and just lower canopy dieing off due to the plant shedding undergrowth?

Transplant went fine, topped 4 taller plants in hops to keep cannopy even. I have a feeling im getting a big yield as long as sex stays female. So far all look to be female and i will be keeping an eye on it.

These will be transplanted soon. I am going to top the green crack on 5th node on both plants. going to try to get some good heavy dense top buds and lolly pop under for good air flow later
