Not a whole lot to report at this stage. Just focused on building a nice root zone. Growth might be a bit slow due to starting in lager pots this run. Pheno #3 threw a curly leaf not sure if its just genetics or something else. Anyone had that before? Also a couple of strange mutations on 5-6 with the first true leaves. The breader did say could be a few mutants from the animal cookies lineage.
Haven’t had a chance to log in and update the babies until now. Things moving along quite slow due to my lighting only being low output t5 will be upgrading to a metal halide with a ceramic fixture soon. Thanks for looking.
Today is day 20 from germ. Chugging along with the t5 still, new cmh 315w coming Wednesday along with a transplant. The roots are busting right out now. I’ll post some pics next week to show you. Also I did an little root drench with some azos from xtreme gardens at the rate of 1 tbsp per 2 litre. I’ll be brewing some xtreme tea in the coming weeks too for the first time so I’l be very interested to see the results. Does anyone have experience with brewing Bennie teas for coco because I’d love to hear. Thanks for looking.
(DAY 28) After 10 days stunted growth they have resumed normal growth again after transplant, upped ppm and more frequent feeds (3x a day) 2 Of them have been topped and 2 got thrown due to my f**k ups. SO WERE DOWN to 6 right now. ALSO changed my t5 to a 315w cmh. I applied an compost tea yesterday 3:1 tea/feed. PLants look well now. Let’s go!!
Week 5. It’s been quite a good week of growth compared to the other 4. I will be flipping when my canopy is about 85% full. It’s around 45 now. So another week or 2.
Getting bushy now! 1 dwarf! Can’t flip for another week or so until I have the bloom nutes. Had to dial back the ppm of my feed to 420ppm, didn’t take it to consideration that I’ve been been applying compost tea brews so after I applied the last tea and tried to feed 560ppm they got burnt tips! AND went very dark And bluish tint. So the teas are doing their jobs very well!! Maintaining my environment... that’s all folks, thanks for looking. HOG.
First layer of netting went up today! Flipping in one week! Had to switch from advanced to snoops premium because of the whole ph perfect thing, I found just doesn’t work at all, at least with off brand additives anyway. Since the nutes switch the girls just absolutely blew up and are loving it now i have the cal and mag dialed in! Discovered 3 dead fungus gnats and 1 flying around which I killed immediately, So I set some sticky traps, not worried to much after inspecting EVERYTHING I didn’t see anymore, probably just a few larvae in my medium when I transplanted. Other than that I can’t wait to flip these babies and pull some weight!! ROll on next week!! THANKS.
Ready for the flip! Lollipopped and quite an aggressive defoliation, I’ll be flipping in just a week here after they have recovered. Hitting them hard with silica now, thicken up them stems, get ready for some big buds? I’ll be switching the 315cmh for the 1000DE in a few days when my contactor time switch arrives. Thanks for looking guys n gals!
This is day 6 of flower! A day early because im impatient! Been struggling with a sulfer deficiency last few days, only minor but it was there. I think it was due to a lock out because of excess salts in my medium as I flushed today with just cal mag+, beneficials, carbs and hygrozyme and they greened up again. Before that I wasn’t able to get any run off due to having very small catch trays which by the way are extremely difficult to change when you have a Scrog net fixed in place haha I did not think that far ahead lol. Also I think that I will up my feeds to twice daily with 25-30% run off just to keep things in range a bit better. I have stuck with snoops feed chart apart from the higher ppm that’s recommend. Continuing with the veg nutes+ a touch of nirvana just incase lol. Next week it’s recommended I go half veg half flower, I’ll do that. Then full on flower nutes. I’m super excited about this grow as it is litterally the first grow I’ll see everything through to the end! But can’t help think about the possibility of hermies!! Pray for me haha. Thanks for looking! 🙏🏼
Week 2 And the girls are recovering well from their iron deficiency. The substrate temps were really low in the region of 60f and this I think was causing unnecessary stress and stoping uptake. AS I RAISED the temps and it seems to have gone and they are greening up again now! It took me nearly a week to figure it out so i hope they don’t herm! We’ll see in due course. SWITched to full bloom nutes with my pk and sweetner. The stretch continues now for another week! Still weaving with the scrog, I’ll add one more layer in a few days after they’ve slowed down slowed down. Flowers now set and the pistils are now forming nicely. Thanks for looking!
Day 21 here in the kushcake tent, they are a bit N toxic because I did not cut out the cal mag plus early enough so I do have a bit of clawing going on! But I have flushed and continuing with 50% base with some added P and K boost, sweetener and zymes. I culled one plant because it was showing some hermie traits! I forgot to take a pic too... but we will push on and see what we can get from the remaining 3. I think the stretch has stopped or there about. BUDS are set and showing the first frost on the leaves! Bring on week 4!!
@HouseOfGas, Thats sweet. Hope your Kush Cake keep coming along well. You have at least one follower :)
Going to do my weekly update today. She looks frosty :D:D:D
@Hellhazard, yes sir. Upped the ppm to 550, added some extra cal mag about 60ppm. And they’re greening up nicely now they seem to have responded very well. Thanks buddy. Unfortunately they have been stunted for 2 weeks but the last two days with the new nutes and 315cmh they are perking up and regaining growth at a rate I’m happy with. Thanks again.
@HouseOfGas, I have never used Coco as a medium but do know it will dry quicker than soils and needs more cal/mag supplements. The Seed Junky Genetics are usually strong, your plants are photoperiods and will survive a few setbacks till you are dialed in. Drying out roots is safer than drowning them too. Be careful with the B-52 because it is also N-P-K. Shoot for around 500ppm if you have a meter as a suggestion for a few days.
@Hellhazard My seedlings stretched like crazy but only because the light was way high. I’ll back fill them by the end of the week when they next need a feed. I’ll keep your comment in mind but I’ll try and flower early as I can. I’m hoping to find a keeper I can mother out, but we’ll see! I’m using a 5x5x7 tent. 👍
Yes, they look ready to seriously explode now, plenty of foliage started. Would be a good time to transplant out of those 3gallon. Silica supplement would be beneficial also for strong branches and stalk
@HouseOfGas, I am not sure if it works or not because I never did any side by side comparisons..... I just use it. What I do notice is the liquid has a same sort of sweet scent as the Advanced Nutrients Big Bud...kind of citrus scented/sweet.
Same answer goes for any of the nutes I have listed. Its impossible to tell if they work or not when you don't do experiments from clone of a mother plant in the same environment.
@Hellhazard, also I Forgot to ask... how do u like terpinator? I’ve just been watching Kevin jodrey on you tube mention this saying there was a couple% increase of terps when used side by side with the same variant without it. Have you used it before?
@Hellhazard, yes sir they are beefing now! Upped the amino treatment to .5 today to build some thickness on those stems. I’ll be potting up next week when I can grab some more substrate. ✌️
Great job brother!!! I think you'll be putting in 2 more trellis because these suckers stretch like mad.... I topped mine and then the two branches that came off of that were topped again in early flower.. it grew like crazy.
Finally another Kush Cake grower. Due to my limited space I popped 2 beans and culled one early on because it was dwarfed. The remaining plant is very vigorous and stretches even with topping much more than other genetics I've worked with. It has a very appealing structure for indoor because it wants to spread open and doesnt fill in with as much leaf as other plants. The only issues is if its a short tent because of the stretch. Seems to be taking full on nutrients well and I had a massive rootball at transplant so that probably helped.
Good luck, I am following :)
