I'm very excited to be trying the reputedly, hard-hitting, Alien Moonrocks, another strain kindly provided by the fine folks @OriginalSensible 🙏
I had a heck of a time germinating seeds for this run, but was finally successful and got 2 of 4 beans to pop. I have the second seedling in soil and will likely use that as a mother for future projects.
I soaked the seed overnight in distilled water and then put it between two pieces of wet paper towel the next day and placed the package inside a ziplock baggy. I put the baggy inside a folded towel and rested that on a germination mat heated to 75 degrees F in a darkened tent for the next 48 hours. Following this, I put the seed into a pete plug and set her in a germination tray. Seed sprouted the next day and rooted through the pete plug three days after that. I transplanted the seedling to a net pot in a 5-gallon DWC bucket today, 7 days from the initial soak.
We're finally underway! 😅

The Alien Moon Rocks has taken off and is looking strong and healthy.
Her roots are nicely established and she got her first rez change today.
At the rate she's growing, I may be able to FIM her by the end of the week.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is growing very well.
I gave her a pretty good defoliation 6 days ago and you can see that she's filled in again quite nicely.
I'll likely switch the lights to the flower cycle in the next couple of days.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is thriving.
She's eating and drinking steadily and growing enthusiastically.
Switched the lights to 12/12 a few days ago and she got a rez change today with some flowering nutes added.
I threw another Alien Moonrocks I had growing in soil into the tent. She had a tough time after being transplanted and FIMed but it looks like she's starting to bounce back.
Moe news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moon Rocks has become quite the beast. She's more wide than she is tall at this stage of the game, but the stretch has just begun.
She's been feeding well and she got a rez change today - no regime changes.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is popping bud sites and rolling through her stretch.
She's been eating and drinking very well. She's getting about 2 litres of water with nutes daily. PH has been between 5.9 - 6.4 the past week and her EC has been around 1.1 - 1.2.
No detectable issues so far - she's looking strong and healthy!
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is rocking and looking niiiiice.
She was getting a little lanky in her stretch so I super-cropped 4 or 5 of the taller stems and gained about 5". She's recovered nicely and canopy is more even.
The 'pom-poms' are getting bigger and the frost is setting in. All systems are go.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is looking really good.
I think she's done her stretch and is now 38" tall. Buds are swelling and already getting impressively frosty.
Rez change today.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moon Rocks keeps on rocking.
Buds are swelling and the frost is thick and sticky.
I did a little bit of defoliation, removing some of the larger fan leaves around the top third of the canopy as well as pruning a couple of lower branches.
Her smell is super pungent, stem rub has a subtle fruitiness. Very intriguing.
A few weeks to go. Very much looking forward to this harvest 😎
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in. ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks continues to rock 🤘
Buds are continuing to swell and vibrant red hairs are adorning the buds at the top of the canopy. There is a generous layer of frosting throughout the plant. Sticky goodness.
Rinse, lather, repeat for a few more weeks.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Just a waiting game now.
Buds are continuing to swell and ripen. This plant is frost-bitten in the best possible way.
Plucked a few more leaves this week to allow more light to the lower bud sites. A couple of more weeks and we should be good to go.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks is continuing to ripen and nearing the finish line.
Buds are getting firm and hard and are dripping with frost.
Rez change yesterday and gave her a light feeding. Water top-ups only from here on out. I'm looking to chop her within a week me thinks.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Alien Moonrocks was a pleasure to grow.
She was an enthusiastic grower from the start and cruised along trouble-free until the end.
I'd definitely give her another spot in my tent in the future - thanks @OriginalSensible for the opportunity to grow this wonderful strain
