I’m moving in the middle of April so I won’t have enough time to start a new run. In the mean time I decided I want to have complete control and as much data as possible for the next run so I don’t run into the same problems.
All this can be found online via “ledgardener” GitHub for his schematics and rollit up forum search “ac infinity dc fan control esp32”. As you can see this can be done with the mars hydro as well. Mars hydro alarm will constantly run once you do this so h just cover it up with some cotton.
-Sensors in the tent: Bme280 for temp and humidity, scd30 for co2 ppm, mlx90614 ir leaf temp senso. Dallas water temp sensor.
I’m using a Broadlink IR/RF controller, it copies the codes from a remote and then you can use an app or like me home assistant to turn ac on and off that way. It’s automated to keep temps below 78°
Bought an old ecoplus chiller 1/4 for only $100 but guess what didn’t work. After messing with it I found that it was the control panel. Hard wired all the high voltage together and it works. Have it hooked up to a Kasa TP-link so it’ll turn it on whenever water temps are sensed above 68° and will turn off at 62° using a DS20B18
Bought 2 new Viparspectra XS1500 Pros for a total of 450W
-Future sensors, ph and ec meter from atlas ($200 each *dead emoji*), ir transmitter and receiver to control AC with esp32 via ir remote eliminating ac remote.
Future projects before I start the grow in April:
-RDWC 2 pot or 3 pot RDWC depending on space
1) correct size fittings, piping, pump, spacing
2)RO buddie in-line with res, so that a hose just needs to be connected
3) alarm system for water change outs and ec reading
Add a live “webcam”
Very future/my own crazy ideas.
-Add a distance sensor to the light,
Add a 12v dc motor to light pulleys
Have home assistant maintain 14.5in level from top of canopy.
-home made AC/Chiller combo(I work in refrigeration for a living so this is possible)
-Disease detection of plants (need more coding experience)
This would allow a camera to take pictures periodically throughout the grow and compare them to a data base, if the plant resembles a disease I’m notified immediately
If you have no idea what’s going on here but you’re interested look up ledgardner automated garden on YouTube.
Of course I’m here to help.
Plan on growing PCG Pineapple Breeze
@WoodsonCult, hope you didn't think I was being OTT. Just something I myself would consider. Great job she's all locked down. I hope one day it will be legal in Europe. Hats off to you. All the best
From an IT point of view. I hope you will secure that network, you don't want anybody war driving and hacking your system and then using this as potential blackmail.
I'd never connect my grow to my network with a camera, but you do you bud. Good luck with the grow and all the best =)
@Szczebrzeszyn, nah you’re cool, I get a lot of flack about it on forums, people forget it’s legal to grow some places hahaha, no big deal man, you’re just looking out ☮️

@Szczebrzeszyn, home assistant is all localized. I have a pi4 as my server and all my devices are locally to the server. No way of accessing this information without logging into my Home Assistant and knowing the IP. I’m also in a grow legal area so my concern is non existent. Thanks though, cheers
Geez man how were you able to make it so far with such a massive grow with no experience on issues like these?? No offense, just asking in general. It was starting from the bottom, so probably was a deficiency. Whenever you see the first signs of issues, get some runoff from her and test the PH and EC/PPM to see if it's eating properly or not. If it ain't eating the nutrients then it's locked out. A flush with correct PH helps a lot. Spotting issues as soon as first stage signs is important to avoid this
