Wow, the Dutch Passion Critical Orange Punch seeds both germinated in ~36hrs. Both of these plants will be put to a slow Veg under the 200W along with the 2nd 34 Street Co Pineapple Express germinated Jan 5. The plan is to keep the plants as small as possible until they're let loose in May. Still a couple more strains to choose for 2023 but no rush.
Took some time this week to tend to the outdoor destined Pineapple Express. Tie downs pulled her back to 16in high but growth has only sped up due to the 400W LED moved from the tent grow. This is going to be a challenge, holding back these plants until they're moved outdoors in May but the chance for some huge plants can't be missed. 😁
Put in a tsp of Fox Farms Cultivation Nation Veggie to go with the 50/50 soil/Promix in the PE pot. Time to get er used to it as I'll be using it outdoors in the garden.
Left the Critical Orange seedlings alone, no water, no nutes. They're looking good. 😁
Pineapple Express is looking good and will be over 100 days in veg by the time it sees outdoors this year. Time to make it wider with more tie downs.
Didn't touch the Critical Orange Punch. Still just vegging out since I put the plugs in. 😁
The Pineapple Express is now 42 inches wide and 26 inches tall. No watering this week. It'll be all I can do to hold it back until it's finally moved outside somewhere around Day 120 of Veg 😁
Topped one Critical and FIMed the other. Failed the FIM and only got 1 branch but with plenty of veg time ahead it shouldn't be an issue. Skipped watering again as the half soil, half Promix is really holding the moisture.
Defoliated the Pineapple Express and adjusted the tie downs. Looks great. 😁
Outdoor temperatures are hitting 25C this week so the garden prep has begun but it'll still be another month before they're moved outside. The Pineapple Express was heavily defoliated (again) and ties were extended. The Critical Orange Punch has recovered nicely from topping. 😁
A month to go before I can transplant outdoors, snow is coming down as I type. But this week was clear and 80F. The plants thrived in the heavy spring sun and sucked up water and nutes in half the time. They appear to have adjusted to the Cultivation Nation Veggie and once they're in the ground fertilizer care will be as easy as it gets. The Pineapple Express has a strong intense smell, especially if agitated and just before dawn. I need to get er outside, another month seems like a long time away, still snowing 😁
They're all sucking up the Fox Farm nutes nicely so I have no worries of pouring it on once they're outdoors. Hopefully I can put them out beginning May 15 as they've already maxed they're pots. The Pineapple Express is 48in wide and on Day 105 of Veg with the plan to get it to 210 days of Veg before flower, so half way there! 😁
Stepped away for a bit and the Critical Orange Punch got a little dry and deficient. Watered with a fresh dose of Fox Farm so I'm counting on it perking up soon. The Pineapple Express held on longer due to its bigger pot. Its' smell is strong and I'm leaving it dry for an easier transplant outdoors in the next couple days. The temperatures are a week ahead of last year which were a week ahead of the year before.but I'm thinking PE is big enough to take a round of cold if it can get established in the next 4 or 5 warm days. We'll see. 😁
The extra Pineapple Express seed planted Jan 5 alongside its'indoor flowering sister is now 36" X 48" and the earliest plant to date that I've started outdoors (May 6). It's Day 97 of Veg for this plant and it now sits in a bottomless pot filled with Promix and soil. Just beneath the pot is a nice mix of 10/10/10 dry fertilizer leading into the open garden. She's already seen a good bit of rain and 6C but seems solid.
This year I'm opening a Bush Grow to go along with the Diva garden. The original Critical Orange Punch plants are getting a little large for the trip so I'll choose from the pool of backups shortly, maybe another PE and a Critical 😵
Still deciding which plants get planted when and where. Three started flowering, I expect they got over stressed from the cold nights. But the big Pineapple Express is hanging in there even though its struggling to adjust to the new location. Started germination of 3 new strains just in case the current batch doesn't pan out. looking forward to warmer nights 😁
Pineapple Express has survived its' first couple weeks outdoors. Looked a little touch and go for awhile but it's caught now and thriving in the heat. Two Critical Orange Punch and another PE are still waiting for their final outdoor locale 😁.
Topped the Critical Orange Punch one last time to slow them down for 1 more week before transplant. They look great, watering 1 tsp/gal and every 3rd watering is plain water. The pots are too small so the watering is almost daily.
Did another round of tie downs on the big Pineapple Express and noticed it was flowering on every branch. And then I broke a main branch during tie down, inadvertent HST. I quickly tied the branch back up and tarred the break, we'll see how that goes. But the fact that it's already flowering may mean its toast. If it continues to try to flower in 30c with 16hr sunny days it's likely to bolt. Hoping it switches back to Veg or the flowering stays light til August.. 😁
Finally cleared a space and got the Critical Orange Punch and Pineapple Express planted in garden North on June 6. Used bottomless pots leading to 10-10-10 dry fertilizer in native soil, clay, and roots. They're getting 9 hours of direct sunlight and a couple more of dappled light. A little more clearing and it should be a great spot next year. 😁
All the plants are looking happy. No real need to water or fertilize. The Big Pineapple Express is 54' H x 50' W x 63' L. Its still lightly flowering, likely due to the broken branch which appears healthy as ever now. The smell is intense and after refreshing tie downs and defoliating the bottom foot my hands were very sticky. 😁
Watered 3gal full nutes today after 6 days dry and the Pineapple Express looks great. Back into hot temps so I expect some significant growth north and south. But it'll be awhile before I get another look at the Critica;l Orange Punch. 😁
Garden North was still kicking so I added a Dutch Passion Purple #1 to the mix. The heat has been overwhelming and the thick wildfire smoke is harsh, especially when your smoking all day. 😁. Got a homemade water system going so I don't have to be lugging water from the river.
Garden South has seen high temperatures, heavy rains and some serious growth on the Pineapple Express. Trunk has exceeded 2" in diameter and I can barely tell I defoliated and cleared a bunch of branches. 😁
The big Pineapple Express has been growing since Jan 5 and has another 30 or 40 days to go before flower although its been trying to flower since it came outdoors. It's Huge.
Flooded Garden North a couple times in anticipation of a lot of heat The Purple #1 is only 18" so we'll see how it does but the other 2 are deeply rooted and now held by some supporting ladders. Tied em back a bit to the ladders to get a bit more sun in. They're growing an inch plus a day. 😁
The big Pineapple Express is Big, hitting 68" H x 72" W. It probably didn't need any water but I hit it with 2gal and Veg mix just for fun. It continues to flower lightly and the once broken main branch is now fully repaired. Finished defoliating the bottom branches. 😁😁 Can't wait to check in on the Critical Orange Punch 😁
Garden North is rolling right along. Everything is healthy and the Purple #1 is catching up in height to the other 2. Unfortunately this garden is only getting 8hrs full sun per day. Combined with 3 weeks of forest fire smoke and now literal inches of rain and cloud, the growth hasn't been as hoped. But Hoping for a dry Fall 😁.
The big Pineapple Express is 80 inches high and sturdy as a tree. Can't wait to see it 8/9 feet tall in full flower. Heavy heat, thunderstorms and heavy rain has made watering all but unnecessary. Hoping for a dry Fall 😁
Last week of Veg for the big Pineapple Express. It and it's Northern sister are still holding out while the Critical Orange Punch is in the first week of flower. Two other after thought plants, a Cinderella99 Fast Flower and Sugar Diesel, are a full two weeks into flower. Switched the Nutes to flower and cranked em up to 1200 ppm.
Heavy defoliation of the Big PE completed on Veg Day 214 (I think) but another round required. This one doesn't want to flower and I'm sure it would need months to finish if I left all the branches on so clip clip. Of course the other two not cared for are in full flower and look like they'll finish for sure. The PE in the Bush garden is in the same state but the Critical Orange Punch and Purple #1 are rolling.
The Pineapple Express in the Diva Garden has hit 8 feet tall and 7 feet wide. Its finally in flower but who knows how long it will need to fill out and finish. The Sugar Diesel finished week three of flower and the Cinderella99 the end of week 2, looks like these two are going to finish easy. The Bush Garden has all three in flower, first week finished. It's all about the weather now 😁
Finally coming into some heat and sun again. The Sugar Diesel is in its week 4 of flower and has bulked up considerably. Cinderella99 is about a week behind it and the giant Pineapple Express is finally showing flower. Hours of defoliation have gone into the Pineapple Express and its still too dense but looking healthy. Not much to do now but wait and watch.
The Diva garden is in full flower with the Sugar Diesel furthest along finishing Week 4. Cinderella99 has become a 40 armed behemoth, finishing week 3 of flower and showing real promise. Have to keep reminding myself these two plants were after thoughts and given little care. The Pineapple Express has finally finished its stretch to 8 and half feet. It will likely get a bit more throughout flower but it's hit a height the top is catching the late season setting sun. Im guessing the PE will be seeing the snow flying for sure. Still pushing plenty of nutrients through em, hard to give them too much at this point. Getting time to check in on the Critical Oranne, PE, and Purple #1 at the Bush garden. High hopes given the current perfect 30C weather 😁
The Bush garden Critical Orange Punch 1 and COP 2 are thriving in the warm fall days. They have stayed green while the Purple #1 and Pineapple Express are yellowing. No sign of rot yet unlike the Sugar Diesel which is definitely ready to come down. 😁
Big Pineapple Express flowers are starting to fill in nice, just needs a couple weeks. Harvested the Sugar Diesel. It's as mature an outdoor flower as I've ever had. 4oz of flower lost to rot but an amazing 300+ grams drying. Dense sticky flower. Cinderella 99 is an amazing Sativa hybrid. The whole plant structure and flowers have a strong sativa lean. Amazing to see flowers like these this far along, this early. The label said flowers fast but wow.
It's all looking great.
Nothing to do but
watch, wish, wait,
and defoliate 😁
The Sugar Diesel is in the Can at 340g dry. It was harvested a week ago and is already smokeable. The smell of skunk over lemon is intense and translates thru the smoke 😁.
It was a great fall finish with sun, heat, snow and rain that took the harvest to Oct 18. Not as long as last year but a bigger better crop for sure. Surprisingly clean mature flowers, no mold or mildew just sticky.
Weird not seeing the big Pineapple Express in the garden. Jan. 5, 2023 to Oct. 18. 2023 RIP

Cinderella 99 has been defoliated and is coming down today at 4:20 😁.
Pineapple Express flowers have doubled in size over the last week in this fall heat. It;s been great weather and I hope the plant can endure the weather come.
Critical Orange is chugging along in the Bush Garden taking every sunny day they can get. 😁
