3 seeds between damp paper towel placed inside a ziploc bag. Wrapped in towel and placed on heat map.
All 3 popped within 16 hours. They were placed in soil and broke the surface the next day.
This soil is Fox Farms CocoLoco with added perlite (66/33).
It’s my first time using this medium and first time with this new light. Hoping to get some good results.
One week since breaking surface.
This new light is more powerful than my old one. I was concerned with the tiny seedlings getting too much light.
Well, I ended up dimming too much and they got a little leggy on me. Power has been adjusted.
I was also concerned about overwatering as my last grow attempt dampened off. I’m certainly not overwatering this time but am concerned I may have been under watering. About a cup every 2 days.
This week I will start to increase the amount of water. The soil is a coco base so I would assume it’ll take more watering anyway.
2 weeks above ground.
This week I was still figuring out my new set up but I believe I have it pinned down now.
As a result one plant got a bit of wind burn. This damaged the single finger leaves a bit but not too bad.
Overall I was concerned with the growth rate but it’s picked up the last couple days.
I’ll be adding silica to the watering schedule once it arrives in the mail
3 weeks above ground.
2/3 plants have really started to increase growth rate over the last week. Those 2 have both pushed out their 5 finger fans and working on 7.
I have 1 plant that is a little runty. It’s smaller than the other 2 and has only put out 3 finger fans so far.
I’ll have to add the carbon filter in the next few days. The room doesn’t stink but when I walk past the exhaust vent there’s a distinct cannabis smell.
Excited to see these continue progressing
Today marks 28 days above ground. 2 of the plants are going strong with 1 still being a little runty.
The 2 strong plants started to preflower a few days ago. The runt is showing no signs of preflower yet.
I started LST on all 3 plants. The strong plants are showing some really nice lateral branching. It’s taken a lot of leaf tucking but we are on our way to a nice canopy.
The medium used is FF CocoLoco which is supposed to be pretty nutrient dense. This seems to be the case as these plants have had no nutrients other than silica and calmag.
I’ve been watering with purified water fe the store (hence the camag and low ppm) but will be switching to tap soon as watering needs increase. My tap is around 300ppm so I’ll be dropping the calmag once I make that switch
Today is day 35 from breaking ground.
The 2 stronger plants are in full on flower mode. The runt is still in preflower but right behind the other two.
The growth for all 3 plants really has been explosive. With the help of LST I’ve been able to create a pretty decent canopy. I’m hoping that’ll result in multiple thick colas.
A carbon filter is a must with these plants. When I open the tent I’m hit with a wall of pungent, skunky chemicals.
As far as water and feeding the plants’ needs have increased. I’ve started feeding Gold Leaf fertilizer but have been very light handed. I’ll start to increase the dose as flowering continues.
Week 6 is here and we are really filling out this 2x2 tent. All 3 plants are really in the stretch phase. The main stalk on the tallest plant grew an inch a day from 9” to 16”! Taking LST into consideration I think these plants are about 22” tall currently.
This week I started giving the plants a full amount of nutrients as the leaves started getting a bit light green. The nutrients in the CocoLoco lasted about 5.5 weeks which is impressive.
I also started watering until runoff this week, about 1 gallon for each plant. I was a little concerned this would be too much but the plants exploded with growth.
All 3 plants are flowering and the tent is pungent. A carbon filter is a must. The smell right now is an old school skunk. Interested to see how it progresses
Well, the plant I was affectionately calling the runt has surpassed the other plants. It’s now the tallest of the 3 standing at 26”. I’m hoping its stretch is done soon because I only have another 6” of vertical space.
As you can see this tent is really being filled out by these plants. Ethos described this strain and
Last week my text got cut off and I didn’t feel like redoing it. What I was saying is the runt plant wasn’t a run, just a little slow. It’s now by far the largest plant.
All 3 plants are well into flower. I noticed one of the plants had some heat damage on the developing flowers from my heat source. As a result I clipped the damaged flowers and discontinued heat.
Day time temps are around 65 with night reaching 60. This created some humidity issues during lights out as the RH peaked to 63%.
To counter this I’ve added a dehumidifier in the tent and have had good luck so far. I’ve also added an additional fan which greatly increased the airflow.
As far as watering, each plant is taking a gallon every 4-5 days. I discontinued the silica last week once the stretch phase stopped.
Really looking forward to this harvest as I think I will have both quantity and quality
Day 70. Not much to report.
Flower are starting to swell nicely. Also an increase in smell. They’re a nice sweet scent.
Some yellowing happening on upper leaves. Not sure if it’s fade or a deficiency starting. Keeping an eye on it
Day 77. Again, not much to report. The plants are filling out nicely and are starting to show some color.
I did find a couple of sacs on on plant. I pinched those off without issue. I’ll be keeping a close eye on herming for the remained of the grow
Day 85. Only a week or two left. The lower bud sites are still mostly white pistils but man oh man are these mains looking nice.
One of the plants is a different pheno which has crazy frost. Pictured above.
Super excited for this to finish as we’re in the home stretch
Day 91! Fall foliage and purple buds!
I’ll be switching to water only as it’s obvious the plant is starting to be on its last days of life.
I’ll expect these plants won’t go for another full week but who knows. I have a habit of chopping early so I’m trying to be sure that doesn’t happen
I took a sample bud to smoke before the cure. The effects are very nice for daytime and late afternoon. The feeling is lifted without being too impaired
