Sourced from someone in MI selling a lot of "souvenirs" on the internet. The price was right so what the heck, let's see what this person's been making.
Feminized, marked as Madame Poison x Shishkaberry #3
24 hours in water cup, moved to damp paper towel for observation, then moved to RapidRooter once the shell started to open. I move off the paper towel quickly before the taproot comes out and gets stuck.
This plant is showing a lot of hybrid vigor, outsizing the other concurrent grow despite being an entire week behind. Continued to use lower level nutrients since it's definitely happy where it is.
Water and nutrient change on 4/2, now on full strength nutrient regiment.
Rain has helped my poor little humidifier to keep up a bit this week.
4/3 did not care for yesterday's water change. Diluted nutrients by half (added more Hydroguard) and balanced PH.
4/4 noticed pest damage on first major leaves. Everything received a spray of soapy water and a dusting of DE. LST begins today.
4/5 looked worse today, regretting doing a full reservoir change as there's early signs of root rot. Roots received a hydrogen peroxide bath, looking much whiter after eight hours.
4/6 Starting to perk up. Removed the most damaged leaves. New growth showing good color on 4/7 but I forgot to snap pics that day.
She has certainly bounced back from the root issues we had last week. I'm going to stick with LST only since last week was stressful. I'm trying a more hands-off approach and only defoliating the worst of the leaves.
My current plan is to wait until I can take some good cuttings, then throw her into flower.
I've kept the nutes light (since the root issue) until now, back to the regularly scheduled program.
This is a pretty bushy plant that I haven't done much training to, just LST. I did plan on vegging this one for longer due to both the slow start and the upcoming pollen in the other tent, so the low height actually kinda works out.
Really starting to show some progress now. Thinned out the bushiness a bit and topped the plant. Didn't take all of the massive fans since they made up the bulk of the greenery, no rush with this one.
Not much to report. Thinned out a little bit, otherwise just letting it do its thing. It's on a booster seat since its neighbor is far taller, will likely switch to the 5 gallon bucket next week since it's starting to get thirstier.
Started to see some rapid yellowing of the lower leaves late in the week. Temps have picked up here a bit and the grow tent was over 80% humidity when I first noticed. Upped the ventilation a bit and removed the worst of the leaves. Tweaked the pH and gave a little hydrogen peroxide treatment to the roots.
Again... it did not like the bucket change last week, and by the time I noticed there was some dying off on the lower leaves. Sprayed the roots with a hydrogen peroxide solution, then added another gallon or so into the reservoir to dilute nutrients.
Not only responding well after its issue last week, she's had a growth spurt and is looking like she'll outgrow the tent if I let her. I'm going to have to kick the neighboring plants out to the greenhouse to sprawl this lady out more, but it's still regularly too cold here so I'm stuck waiting until I come up with another solution. Down to 18/6 on lighting as well.
Some defoliation this week, left branches to take clones. I tried to scion a branch of this onto my mother plant several times without success, and this plant is too damn big now to keep waiting for one to take.
I just rec'd. my package from the same seller,
and since I'm a hydro grower also, I'm closely watching your process.
Appears you're off to a great start!
@WETTYkruger,The ones marked Jack are Jack Herer, I asked the seller. Numbers would be different plants..
Pretty sure 'feminized' was removed because of site policies over there, this seller has relisted his stuff several times being more and more obscure so they'd stop getting delisted. When I bought it said 'feminine' and now it says even less. I hope someone screencapped one of the early listings.
@Gogettalif, I believe I bought the same pkg. I noticed they removed the word feminized from the post like the day
after I bought them. XD Lil worried bout that. Even if they aren’t fem I know a bit about the genetics, they’re great if they are what they claim even if not fem. It’s valuable to stay in touch about what we learn I’m working with the Jack #2 bc what even is that maybe someone just got a male since it’s a stress/herm situation, sorta ideal for hybrid vigor. I’m praying for gals
@Gogettalif,
I've only made best guesses as to origin with a few of the strains, Mme Poison seems to be from Canadian Bred Seeds, Shiskaberry from Barney Farms. These are fem, on the seller's original listing they said a few branches of Mme Poison freaked out and pollinated everything. I didn't press them for all the details but they did respond to me pretty quick when I did ask something.
Definite indica, Shiskaberry is apparently 100% and Mme Poison is 50/50
