Aaaalright. Forgive me frens for I have sinned. But I just couldn't help myself. I've always wanted to grow and had some half-assed dorm room vegs aboot a decade ago. So when I went to throw some dog shit in a dumpster and stumbled across a relatively handsome lady plant, you bet your couchlocked hindquarters I carried her home. Scheming the whole damn way. I'm starting this GD on 8.31, but plant was rescued on 8.5. I'll try to catch it up right quick. Up front, I know I'm a fucking idiot and bringing a plant indoors is the worst idea ever. I assure you I have suffered accordingly, have struggled with root block, lockout, mites, etc. But the bitch is still standing and I think I just might get a bit of weight off it aside from the valuable learning experiences. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this community and promise to post other projects I have undertaken since👍

The plant grew fairly well over this week, but the leaf health started to deteriorate and the fretting/struggling began.. It’s ok. Thanks to the communities like this I was able to start addressing my issues quickly in hope of taking this POS thru flower in a week or so.

Suffering continued and I did my best to read the plant give it what it needed. I transplanted…again… to a 12in pot, the 10in was definitely too small. I noticed my tap pH was fucking 8.7ish and started pHing my water down properly. My neem oil came in and I started treating with spray and in water with nutes. Hanging on for our life here, as I noticed deficiencies and progression of mite damage.

I figured some stability might have been achieved and flipped to 12/12 on 8.27. The beginning of the week involved trimming a lot of undergrowth and stuff near the budsites that had been affected by the mite, lockout, and root damage from not having drainage for like 5 days last week. I LST'd it around abit to get the canopy shaped up for the new 1000W LED that came in. For my first “real grow” I plan to use Nature’s Living Soil super soil concentrate all the way through with some dank seeds I bought. It came in (but the seeds haven’t) and am using it for top feeding while backing off nutes and hoping this shit is as good for plants as it smells. Seriously, it has to be good for the plant bc it smell like something that comes from your bowels after a heavy night of Rolling Rock and Curry and froyo. 666% the most powerfully odiferous and sinister smell ever. But idgaf, it’s growing on me. I would love your thoughts on this “rescue method”. We will see if it shows and deficiencies moving forward. Maybe should have let everything veg another week healthy, but honestly kind of hate this thing and want to finish it as an act of dominance, raw stubbornness and spite.

9.2 - Second week of flower is looking ok. Plant has had its 4th or 5th neem oil treatment and not finding any new mite damage. All new growth seems pretty healthy. Would love some input on how to judge whether a lower bud site is worth saving or not. The nature's living soil concentrate I applied last week seems to be doing brilliantly and it stopped stinking after a couple days (or I got used to it). On 9.5 I got the feeling it needed a bigger container to finish in, given the plants size. I added more Nature's Living Soil super soil mix. Also had to train pretty hard to get the canopy relatively even and low enough to have room to grow into the tent space. 9.7 I'm seeing good growth and gave another Neem oil treatment last night. Starting to see some frostyness, fingers crossed for the next few weeks. 💀

Things are looking good this week. 98% of the new growth is super healthy, thanks be to the Nature's Living Soil. Kind of incredible to see a plant bounce back like this, which makes me all the more excited to get my other grows off the ground with it :) What do you guys think of this plant at this stage? It's been through a lot, but is it my naivety, or does it look ok? Care to shoot me an estimate yield?

I caught up on some reading and decided to defoliate before chasing the second half of this flower. I'm pretty confident that after being in the Nature's Living Soil for a few weeks that she is strong enough to handle the defoliation, but hell, whadda I know?? 9.19 - The DumpsterQueen didn't even flinch at the defoliation. Yay! 9.21 - Just enjoying the show :) 9.22 - Figure I better learn how to best take and edit photos. Probs need some auxiliary non-grow light 😝

9.26 - The Dumpster Queens is really starting to stank good. Very diesel and earthy! The buds are still putting on weight and are dense, very little squish or give when I give em a moderate pinch. I am imagining I have ~3 weeks left before chop.

9.30 - I build a little fermenting CO2 generator this week, mostly for shits since I'm not going to seal the tent up. Otherwise things are going as expected. Noticed a really big change in bud structure and how they are densing up. Really enjoying the show and the change in colors and pistil behavior. Got her propped up to increase circulation and get a better idea of when she needs water. 10.1 - Just documenting the bud evolution for fun :) 10.4 - Whatchu guys think of my rescue marijuana plant!? Not bad, huh?! 10.6 - Plant grew some new whites and oranges and buds are bigger 10.7 - changing every day. What a wonderful thing

10.8 - Hard to believe we are in week 7 of flowering!? We've come so far! And I have no clue how far we have to go. Just watching closely for the leaves to start yellowing and the trichomes to cloud up. 10.10 - Going through a heat wave, flower tent crept up over 32C during the past two days. Probably not an issue for this lady. Let me know how close you think I am to harvest! I still see new whites coming in every day and the buds are still visibly plumping.

What should i be looking for exactly!? 10.27 - We shall give her another week :) Getting really excited to hang her upside down in this tent! I am also stoked to clean this tent and move some other plants in here haha. Let me know your favorite drying method! I don't think I planned to wet trim is about as far as I have considered.

D86 - 10.30 - Looks like fall in here. Still monitoring the trichs. Gonna giver a 48 hour dark period soon. D87 - 10.31 - Happy Halloween! 👻 I just got a back ache from trying to take pictures through the 40x with my iphone. Also discovered the digital zoom function. Got maybe 10% amber trichs 👍 D91 - 11.4 - Some leaves are really going now. I took a small branch to test dry about 5 days ago and rolled up a J just now and I gotta say: Woah👽 – My first impression is that it is sticky as hell. Like suuuper sticky. Lemongrass, diesel, earthy flavors come too mind. I really don't want to exaggerate and overstate because I’m biased, so I need some buddies to try it, but it is such a smooth smoke. I was super surprised at a lack of harshness I’ve always associated with smoking. I’m not saying it didn’t make me cough a bit, but the drags were super pleasant. The high is super pleasant. Uplifting, time dilating, def got a bit of lock to it but I like that. I medicate for adhd and mdd, so nugs that quiet and slow my thoughts down a bit help bring things into focus. I watered her tonight, maybe for the last time? I’ll see how patient I can be. I’ll most likely start pulling branches for the next week so I can see how the development changes the look and smoke and learn me something. Let me know if that is a terrible idea though.

What is your favorite way to finish a plant at this stage? Dark period? Starving? Get wild with some stem splitting? No need for flush cuz super soil 👍

Hello @NullHypothesis ! I always flush before harvest. Super soil or not there are always minerals in the soil for the plant to absorb no matter if they came from dried amendments that have been broken down by microbes or they came from bottle nutrients organic or not. Its a huge misconception that super soil doesn't need flush. As for dark periods before harvest, ice cubes in the soil, cutting the leaves at half and stuff don't have any scientific buck up. What has scientific buck up is that when you harvest the plant at the dark time of the light/dark cycle you get more terpenes. Happy growing ! 👍

As my first plant, this thing got the hell beat out of it. 1) It was found in dumpster with a split stem.. 2) In hindsight, not trained with poor internode spacing 3) Kept in absurd curtain clandestine grow space in my living 4) spider mite and me learning out to use neem oil and other treatments like pepper sprays 5) I transplanted (and cut roots) into far too small pot 6) Transplanted again into a bigger pot where the drainage plugs were not discovered for over a week….. maggot like things in water. 7) Absurd amounts of defoliation and branch trimming and lst and super cropping to make plant ready for real tent After all of this SHE THRIVED in the proper environments provided by the 3x3 and didn’t flinch much at a pretty decent heat wave. Most resilient plant ever maybe? Only wish I knew what it was or cloned it.

D93ish - 11.6 - I found her in a dumpster with a split stem and no grow equipment and our journey began. From the clandestine tent and trying different lights to spider mites and super cropping. Me and this baby been there. She was a great teacher and I loved her dearly. I'm incredibly grateful for her resilience and patience with me as learned my way around this new skill. I killed her last night, cut her into pieces and put her in a box to dry. I havent smoked any of the newly harvested Dumpster Queen and won't test it until it goes into cure jars, but the sample I took off over a week ago was divine and opened my eyes to everything I've been missing in organic grown nugs. Thank you all for you support. I'm so stoked moving forward with this newfound hobby and passion. Will update in a week or so on the dry weight, cuz I'm really interested too. Expecting about a QP, just enough to give as gifts to some awesome friends and keep me going until my next harvest! 11.9 - stems were snapping i trimmed her up further into jars and weight came out to 80g. The nugs are not very dense or large, but are very very sticky and full trichomes. Smells of sweet dank floral and pine and the dank and floral notes really come out in a joint. I just got bubble bags from BubbleBagDue and will practice extraction on some the the trim and super larfy stuff : Thanks again for the support and following along everyone. My other diaries are where Im implementing all the lessons I learned with DQ and where I'll continue documenting my ongoing pursuit of growing grade A organic meds! 11.19 - D106ish - Our cure with the boveda 62% bags has been on for 10 days and the bud is about perfect. Been smoking hard on it and is still thoroughly enjoying it. Notable changes in flavor is the shift of that floral scent to more berry. It smells soo good I bury my face in the jar haha. The effect is still very uplifting and creative, which is great since I'm writing my phd dissertation. Anyhow, be well. Tons of love!

@Fullmeltalchemist, how are the tricomes looking? I like the idea of the dark period, but it doesn't seem to be backed by much science. Either way, I think I'll try it on my harvest, also the starvation method where you stop watering before harvest (on soil grow).

@BeefWellingtons, 🙏👊 TYSM for following along! I had a itty bitty larfy branch break 10 or so days ago, so I dried it. Smoked it last night and it was really really tasty. Citrusy diesel. Oddly, the SMOOTHEST J I have smoked in a while. The stoke is real rn.

@BeefWellingtons, 😂 I really appreciate it. This plant is a metaphor for my whole life pretty much lol. Really though, I'm so fortunate. This thing has taught me about rehabbing sick plants, transplanting, LED lights, ventilation, mites(!), training, defoliating, overwatering, patience in flower. All before I really had enough confidence to buy my tents and get going with seeds. She gave me a crash course <3
