the girls are vigorous; after 3 weeks, they are all ready for "pseudo mainlining", a kind of watered-down mainlining for autoflo involving only one topping, a little lollipopping and a lot of LST :
When the 4th node develops, I cut and keep only nodes 2 and 3, stretching the remaining 4 branches horizontally in a cross shape.
The aim is to obtain 4 large, dense and easy to manicure colas.
Over the next 10-15 days, I will cut off any side branches until the colas are far enough away from the trunk to let them grow upwards.
In general, the transition to flowering takes place at this time.
people often hesitate to do HST on autoflowers; my little experience allows me to guarantee that this single cut has never delayed my harvests, nor diminished the quantity and quality โ๏ธ
Could you have kept the first node growing from the center and still do the cross lst like you did? Iโm really interested because Iโm currently germinating an auto flower and this seems like a pretty cool and easy grow method
@OnBudNem, Yes of course, but the apical dominance would have considerably weakened the lateral colas; the main cola would have risen so high that the others would have produced less and surely popcorn buds at the bottom of the plant because of the distance of the lamps.
Here, the speed of the strain forced me to choose a single and quick manipulation, but with a less vivacious autoflowering, a double cut to obtain 8 colas instead of 4 is quite imaginable โ๏ธ
Do you ever wonder how "well" the plant would have done had it just been let go with a prune or a lollipop? And not endure any high stress or deficiencies??
@@@@Billyandbarb,Of course; this session is the 26th in my short career, and only the 7th where I have practiced such intense stress. I've been through low stress and no stress at all, and so far I have to say that HST has given me the best results ๐ I continue to look for the right balance to optimise the autos
