Hi, I'm Cino from Western Europe.
Last year, I found a seed (in the last weed I bought before growing it myself) and kept it in my tiny bank of seeds.
It was sold as Northern Lights but didn't look/taste like it. There is no way I can be sure of the strain nor even if it's feminized.
I'm starting this grow for fun, trying and learning purpose only... 🙏🙏🙏 hoping I'll be rewarded with a decent harvest.
I've only tried one exterior photoperiodic grow without any training technic and I want to give a try to HST, learn to take cuttings and get clones, set up a little SOG, etc. before using overpriced seeds.
I'll grow an autoflowering Original Afghan Kush from FB alongside with it in order to make this grow more profitable : 18h day / 6h night for both of them, so the unknown photoperiodic should vegetate for months before I let it flowering (and know if it's a girl) when OAK will be done.
I know I could take a cutting under 12h light cycle to verify in a few weeks but I don't want to... let's gamble! 😅
Still growing... leaves are already touching the edge of the one gallon smart pot, so moving to 2gal.
It's time to try my first mainlining attempt!
Let's top it.
Moving to final 5gal smartpot with philosopher seeds' organic soil recipe and going on with B.A.C. organic program (not sure of this, maybe it's too much).
Now we can see the ring with 8 main stems!
Nothing special last week, just let it grow.
This week, I want to keep 24 stems in my ring and 8 more to make cuttings...
It's growing fast, had to heavy defoliate twice in 5 days : it seems happy, so let's continue.
Last 3 weeks, I took 8 cuttings and managed to keep 6 living, now in 1 gallon smartpots.
Mother plant still have it's 24 stems, but it's a bit overcrowed : again, defoliation and lollipopping with a bit of LST to maintain the ring shape.
Don't know what to do with all this now!😅
During last month, I decided to keep mother and her 6 clones : I removed 16 of 24 stems from mother plant in order to keep only 8 of them, lollipopped and defoliated several times.
Clones are growing fast and managed to catch up their mother height (about 65cm now).
I set 12h day/12h night two weeks ago and preflowering is done now : it's official, it was a girl!
Let's hope streching is going to end quickly because I can't grow anything higher than 90cm and plants gain a few cm everyday.😐
Stretch seems done... girls are between 60 and 70 cm now. I should move up FC-E3000 from 20 to 30 cm but they look fine so I let it as it is for the moment. I bought last missing B.A.C. products in order to follow full organic photoperiodic schedule : I hope it will be as efficient as it was with my Afghan Kush! Now it looks like a SOG, tent is full. And I can see first trichromes...😀
EDIT : forgot to ask if anybody could confirm it looks like Northern Lights... as I'm still not sure. I can affirm it's feminized photoperiodic now, with hybrid caraceristics and it smells more and more lemon.
Not much to say this week so I did a few videos... B.A.C. schedule goes on : flowering week 4. Changed clones' tutors for taller ones and used them with mother plant to reshap it to fit perfectly with clones. They are still from 60 to 70 cm, mother is 65 cm : no height change since last week and I can clearly see flowers growing under pistils, stretch is officialy done.😀
03/28 : I lollipopped mother plant (maybe too gently). Clones grow faster with bigger buds and much more trichromes on sugar leaves, but mother plant keep on growing too, despite all mutilations she suffered. She may finish a few weeks after her clones... whatever, it's for fun!
B.A.C. schedule goes on with bloom week 5 : a bit more PK Booster and a drop of Final Solution. Plants drink less, RH is up to 60%. Clones look beautiful, I love them!😍
It is clearly not Northern Lights. With stronger sativa characteristics now (large internodal spaces between sets of branches, stretching), it may be Amnesia Haze finally : I bought both NL and AH at the same time and was quite sure I found the seed in NL flowers... I would be very pleased if it's actually Amnesia.
2023/04/05 : I messed up something with motherplant nutritive solution as there are burned tips and pale leaves... looks like nutrients lock. Plain rain water for the moment (pH=7, EC=20ppm).😭 I bought a bottle of B.A.C. Calmag 2.0 (1 mL/L) and I removed Tracemix and calmag from biobizz : full B.A.C. nutrition now!
B.A.C. schedule goes on with bloom week 6 : a bit more PK Booster again and no more Final Solution. Motherplant looks better after a massive plain water watering, I'll alternate nutritive solution / plain water for now. Clones buds' are getting fatter, faster than motherplant ones, and a few big leaves are yellowing. There are trichromes everywhere and smell is more powerfull.
2023/04/12 : first check on trichromes... there are already amber ones on clones' leaves, not yet on flowers. Mother plant is a bit late, only clear and cloudy trichromes for the moment. I would say 2 to 3 weeks before harvest.😊
Burned tips on clones too... Lot of plain rain water for everyone! Anyway, buds look great : they're long and get fatter.
I tried a wet sample in vaporizer yesterday : it tasted bad but it was potent enough to put a smile on my face... 😋 So I removed a few popcorn buds and put them to dry : it's covered with trichromes and it smells good. I'll vaporize this dry sample later, no doubt it'll taste better.
Still on rain water... looks better! Now in 9th week of flowering, I removed almost all big leaves from motherplant. Clones look OK, buds getting bigger and bigger.
2023/04/21 : I vaporized about 0.5g of dried popcorn buds from mother plant. I was high at the begining and stone at the end, I fell asleep watching a movie. The bad news is I found some seeds in these buds : it won't be sinsemilla! 😪
Last week with B.A.C. organic program, a big shot of Final Solution, less PK booster and no more Calmag : after this watering, it'll be rain water for everyone until the end (about a week or two).
The smell is powerfull! It killed my 1 year old carbon filter...😓
2023/05/01 : trichromes checked... still too much clear and not enough amber.
This grow was a "try and learn" for mainlining, cloning, SOG, etc. and was quite long (about 6 months for mother plant, 3 months for clones).
I'm really happy with clones (big fat colas without seeds) and a bit disappointed with mother plant as there are 8 colas but they are thinner with seeds... Forgot the wet bud weight, sorry.😓
