So I decided to drop a berry cookie into DWC for ol time sake. Trying to squeeze one more grow in before the summer.
Anyways she's been in her basket for a week now and she seems to be digging it so far. No roots showing yet but she's young yet. New growth coming in for sure so the roots are definitely growing just a long the basket and the clay pebbles. Probably getting adequate water for now but I'm sure by next week we'll be seeing some nice beautiful white roots!
Whoo hoo! We have roots! Lol
A few anyway. That's definitely a good a sign. Last week I was getting worried about root rot so I added some hydrogen peroxide and sure enough not even two days later she starts showing roots and everything is better.
So I changed her res and gave her week two nutrients which seems to be a little on the strong side for my liking but I'm just following the feed chart for the flora series. If I notice any drastic signs of burn I'll lower but all in all she looks like she can handle it.
Not much to comment on this week unfortunately. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the new nutrient line or maybe it's the pheno/strain.
Either way she's a slow poke for sure. At least it seems like it to me. I did have some minor root rot but I took care of it so maybe that's why she's a little behind in her veg...
Anyways I hope the next week shows a lot more growth because I usually go into bloom after week for. Sometimes even after week three but not for this lady.
I got rid of her bullshit bottom shoots and leaves so she focuses on the real work at hand lol.
Good friggin week for sure. No more root rot. She's definitely starting to take off so that's a relief because we're a week behind schedule because of that little hiccup.
These things happen though with DWC so it's always good to know what to do and be prepared for it.
One more week of veg and then it's off to the races!
Alright, so I'm done veging her. Gonna start bloom nutes and the 12/12 cycle for the upcoming week and yeah...all's well for the most part.
Still fighting minor root rot in the upper roots but it's nothing to crucial. Still extremely annoying buts it's because of my fluctuating water temps.
Did a little LST to get a better canopy for flower. We'll see.
So the start of bloom for this little lady.
I'm not going to veg her any longer because honestly I just don't have the time to do so...she was a slow poke.
The roots are looking a ton better but still have to treat her with h2o2 every reservoir change to keep it at bay unfortunately.
But it's gotta happen. Need healthy roots for healthy buds!
I'm hoping she stretches a bit more since she has a 10 week flower...we'll see.
Alright so shes definitely filling out nicely and getting a bit of decent stretch going.
We're definitely looking for more though lol...she is a long flowering plant so I figure she has another week or two of stretch and preparation in her before we start to really see any pre flowers.
Wowza! Now we're talking! Look at that bad girl go ladies and gentlemen lol( realistically like a solid 3-4 people actually interested).
Like I figured with how shes been growing, we ended up getting another week of stretch out of her and shoot i might get another before any real magic starts to happen.
I gave her an extra week of transition nutrient feed and that looks to be paying off. Changed res with increased phos and potassium for the following week.
So we're all caught up now and everything is looking great, from the roots to the canopy! Beautiful 😍
Nice deep, rich coloration in her leaves and nice pure white roots. Can't ask for anything better going into flower.
She's finally done stretching from the looks of things. Definitely a smaller plant but I'm sure shes going to produce for me.
We have a bunch of new pre flowers popping up everywhere and I did a little defol to help the light shine through to them.
So it looks like my slow little lady isn't so little anymore!
She done stretching and has popped preflowers everywhere, which are already covered in frost!
So we'll probably get to see some real magic start happening in these next 3 weeks coming up...can't wait to see this girl in full bloom.
I did a defol on her and I don't think she's going to need anything else from me from here but to upkeep her reservoir.
Shes definitely starting to come into her own from the looks of it.
Week 6 is over and we have some decent stacking but I'm a little worried lol...not really. Ethos baby, I know she'll come through. Just a slow pheno, I'm sure.
Hopefully these weeks coming up show some real bud stackage!
Allright so its looking like she's finally stacking up some flower for me.
She smells like musky incense and strawberries which is awesome! Definitely got lucky with the terp profile as long as it stays anyway lol.
Hopefully we see some improvements with these next weeks. I mean she's a long flowering plant but I've never seen plant this slow. Especially in DWC! This is definitely a first for me.
So this lady is giving me a headache for real smh...idk what her deal is to be honest. She has everything a plant could want lol but she's just not really amounting to much from the looks of things.
I'm praying for a DWC miracle 🙏. Its happened before so, you never know. Ten week flowering plant but It looks like she's going to need at least 12 unless like a said, something spectacular happens in this next week or two.
Fingers crossed 🤞
So long story short, I had a busted pH meter...SMH
Thats what was wrong with my plant unfortunately. The whole time I was bringing my pH way too low and that was causing a lock out of much needed bloom nutrients. It looks like she was only getting mostly nitrogen. Her leaves were tucking which gave me concern to check my pH meter and sure enough...
Anyways we're back on track but she only has a couple weeks left in her cycle. I'm hoping I didn't mess her up to bad.
We'll see.
Alright, well its looking like we're starting to get to the finish line on this lovely lady here.
She looks to be putting on some decent weight but nothing super exciting lol. Still, her flower look amazingly frosty so I'm sure they are going to pack quite the punch!
I'm pretty much just filling her res day to day as she depleats it and I might add some p and k here and there just to get her through this week or 2. I really don't see her needing much more than that.
I had a busted pH meter which I'm thinking is what lead to a lot of her growth problems but everything is on point for her harvest.
Alright Alright Alright...lol
So its looking like she's finally had enough of me! Probably give her one more week since I'm still seeing an abundance of milky trichs and a bunch of white pistils still. I'm really impressed with how she's turned around for me though, big time. I was a getting worried that I might have ruined her with my bad pH meter but she's a tough one.
I lowered her ppm and hit her with some potassium to bring out her terp profile so I'm hoping we get a nice stanky crop come next week.
Thanks for stopping by
Well here we are again and unfortunately its not for harvest my friends...yeah I'm disappointed as well but I will be chopping her down within a week. Her trichs are actually past the point of where I usually like to harvest but she's still growing...
Anyways ill give her a week more if that.
I lowered her ppm to about 500. Dropped the gro completely and am basically just riding it out.
Thanks for stopping by.
Like I said the plant did great with everything that was going against her. By the end of the cycle we had 420 something grams of some of the strangest looking buds I've ever seen lol. They really don't look all that dense but they are.
Covered in front from head to toe! That's always great 👍. I'm really looking forward to the smoke report because the terps are amazing 👏...heavy kusk incense with fresh strawberries and melon 🍈 😋.
