Terp1answered grow question 3y ago I would always defoliate if the leaf costs the plant more energy than it brings in. This is always the case when the leaf hardly gets any light. LEDs don't penetrate the leaf canopy like the sun does. Outside, it may be right that the plant doesn't shed its leaves because they all bring it energy. But the sun also penetrates the plant. LEDs don't do that. So indoors, it's a whole different story. Make your own experiences. I definitely defoliate leaves that I can't tuck away and leaves that hardly get any light. Even with autos. The plant will thank you for it. Every photon that your buds get from defoliation will ultimately bring you more yield.
