During this week, I managed to recover the plant after an overdose of fertilizers. As a result, I was forced to resort to the defoliation technique to remove the most affected leaves and changed the growth direction of the lateral branches, so that the lower ones would be less shaded by the upper ones.

At the beginning of the week, the upper cola started growing faster. And it began consuming more than a liter of water per day! By the end of the week, I realized that I need to apply topping to the next plant. The central cola gained 25 cm of growth in a week!

14.05.2023 I added some light (4 sources) to better illuminate non-main colas and foliage in depth (there are no sources of additional lighting in the photo). 15.05.2023 The girl began to drink even more. 18.05.2023 Changed the nutrition plan and my own ideas about the life cycle of the plant. I am happy to continue to take good care of the girl. Thx to @massivetids

Why is my bud size growing very slowly by the end of week 8/10 and I don't see very many trichomes? Should I add fertilizer or reduce the amount of water? Should I defoliate again?

This strain got a flowering period of 70 days so 10 weeks. They still need to flower for 7 more weeks till they are ready for harvest. I think that you misunderstood it and that you tought that the full grow would take 10 weeks. But the time given by the seed company is only the flowering time. And it will start counting from the moment that you see the first pistils (white hairs). Your plant just finished early flowering and still got to mid and late flowering. Download the feedchart from advanced nutrients and continue from mid flowering.

21.05.2023 The smell is starting to become a problem. 21.05.2023 Successfully resealed the grow box and improved the ventilation. One more problem solved! 22.05.2023 I think i need larger growbox size. But creating this one (600 mm x 600 mm x 1500 mm) took a lot of energy and nerves. I'll try to complete the cycle of this plant in it. 24.05.2023/1 Smell becomes insane. Thanks to ventilation and filters. 24.05.2023/2 From one extreme to another. From the fifth to the eighth and a half week, I've been underfeeding the girl with fertilizers, and after changing the feeding plan, I started overfeeding. Thanks to the advice from @1882Bean, I measured the saturation of the solution with salts and got a significant 1776. This falls within the permissible level according to Jorge Cervantes' Grower's Bible, but it's better not to exceed 1300. Now I will not exceed the level of 1300. 24.05.2023/3 The next issue is typical for novice growers like me - overwatering. It seems that I've started facing its consequences. I will reduce the amount of water for irrigation. Today, I'm leaving the plant to dry the soil overnight and starting tomorrow, I will water it with a fixed amount of water only in the morning. When I started, I did not think that this is such a complex and technological process. 25.05.2023 Starting the treatment for nitrogen excess and potassium deficiency. 1. I flushed the soil with 10 liters of spring water 2. Made a medicinal solution with high potassium content and minimal nitrogen content (4 ml/1L Big Bud 0-4-4 and 4 ml/1L pнPerfect Grow 1-0-4) TDS 900 ppm. 3. I hope everything is correct. 26.05.2023 She continued growing and seems (and smells) better, then yesterday. She started to drink again, bud size grows. Will make a conclusion about the medicine in a couple of days. 27.05.2023 Thanks to @m0use, @Terp1, @massivetids and @MisterAeroponics. I dramatically reduced Nitrogen and added more Potassium and Phosphorus. It's helped my girl to be strong and continue happy grow.

28.05.2023 Calculated and mixed new nutrient proportions with a minimum of nitrogen. Reduced the amount of water for irrigation. 28.05.2023 Before, I thought the smell was strong. Now, I realize that the strong smell is just beginning. It permeates through any, even small cracks. The ventilation just can't cope. 29.05.2023 I managed to deal with the cracks through which the smell was coming. And another interesting observation for me - the main cola has stopped growing, but the rest are stretching upwards trying to catch up with the main one. 31.05.2023 Replaced 4 led's to more powerful and with another light temperature (3000K). Started measuring ph. 31.05.2023/2 It's getting hotter. It's about 25° degrees in bottom of the bush and 30° on main cola 31.05.2023/3 While it's to hot my girl drinks more. Decided to increase water to 2L per 24 hour. 01.06.2023/1 The smell is getting insane. It's everywhere. If I can't handle it, I'll have to end the plant cycle prematurely. (( 01.06.2023/2 Automating plant condition diagnostics backfired - the sensor was placed in the air exhaust pipe, reducing its efficiency by 50%. I'm suspending the use of this device. The smell problem has been resolved again. 01.06.2023/3 Now, I'm planning to split the watering into two parts - morning and evening, to reduce the amount of aromatic terpenes and insane smell. 01.06.2023/4 And I'm testing bottom light to increase bottom bud development. 01.06.2023/5 Chloroplasts are located on the upper side of the leaves, hence, lighting from below won't stimulate photosynthesis. However, it should promote bud development. If so, it might be worth defoliating the lower leaves for better lighting of the buds from below. 02.06.2023/1 Fractional watering is working - smell goes down. I'm already confused of entourage effect and will learn deeper. I'll be use fractional watering for a few days until I upgrade my ventilation system. 02.06.2023/2 To enhance the development of the lower buds, I added bottom lighting (4*27 = 108 Watts). To improve cooling, I also added a 150 mm output ventilation and a 100 mm input ventilation. 03.06.2023/1 This girl is smart. She turned the bottom-lit foliage, with its chloroplasts, towards the light and began to develop the lower buds more actively. Weekly conclusions: This week was very interesting. - I managed to deal with burns from nitrogen excess, - I learned that the nutrient ratios provided by manufacturers need to be checked with your own calculations, - I increased the top lighting for the plant from 150 watts, half of which was at 6500K, to 187 watts of pure light at 3000K, - Faced with slower development of the lower buds, I added bottom lighting (108 watts, 3000K), - I learned how to combat odor using fractional watering, - I significantly improved the exhaust and intake ventilation. Big thanks to growdiaries and its growers for their help and support!

Limited space in a 60x60cm grow box leads to uneven bud development. Top buds flourish, while lower ones lag in growth. With 4 weeks of flowering left, I'm debating: removing lower buds, leaving everything as is, or sequential harvesting. Suggestions?

You can cut them known as lollipopping before switching to flower, you could probably cut a few off now but if you'd like to keep it, yes adding extra lights to hit the side would definitely help. Certain lower bud sites will never have much potential though. You could also Defoliate some of the fan leaves covering up other bud sites. Dont over do this though as you're done producing leaves. Usually the leaves covering inward of the canopy gets cut, pointing outsides of the canapoy stays

I've noticed that after morning watering (I water once a day in the morning) the intensity of the smell decreases. However, at night and early in the morning, when everything dries out, the smell sharply increases. Is this a normal condition?

04.06.2023/1 I don't like the changes in the girl's development. It seems to me that her growth has slowed down significantly. I will refrain from using fertilizers for a couple of days and have added a 35 Watt 6500 K lamp to broaden the spectrum. 04.06.2023/2 Reconfigured lighting. It's now 8*27W 3000K + 1*35 W 6500K (total 251W) on top and 3*20W 3000K + 1*25W 3000K (total 85W) on the bottom. 05.06.2023/1 Started with new nutrition's plan. On plain water with pH 5.8/33 ppm, the drain water shows pH 6.5/609 ppm. This means the soil is becoming too alkaline. I will be flushing the soil until it reaches the desired purity. Also, I now genuinely understand why hydroponics is preferred - the cost of mistakes and lack of skills handling it is much easier to correct, simply by changing the solution. 08.06.2023/3 Asked ChatGPT about my case. Here is a plan:   Week 1 (days 40-46): Continue flushing the soil. Do not add any fertilizers during this period.   Week 2 (days 47-53):     pH Perfect Grow: approximately 2 ml per liter of water     pH Perfect Micro: approximately 1 ml per liter of water     B-52: approximately 2 ml per liter of water   Week 3 (days 54-60):     add Big Bud: approximately 2 ml per liter of water     add Overdrive: approximately 2 ml per liter of water     reduce B-52: approximately 1 ml per liter of water   Week 4 (days 61-64):     Begin flushing again to remove residual fertilizers from the soil before harvest. 08.06.2023/4 I believe that the excess phosphorus contributed to the accumulation of calcium in the soil, which couldn't be assimilated due to phosphorus blockage. As it turns out, calcium is indeed an alkaline element and pure water ph grows. 09.06.2023/1 Day 76/93 Flowering 41/58. UP: 216W 3000K, bottom 79W 3000K.   - Began logging data along with watering: volume, pH and TDS of the solution and in the drainage   - Decided to increase the amount of phosphorus which led to a calcium deficit   - Over-alkalized the soil, was able to identify this through pH and TDS measurements in the drainage, and started a flushing cycle   - Began documenting the calculated amount of fertilizers for each watering   - Realized that the plant's cycle is nearing its end, and the most important thing for me now is to preserve and support what has already grown.   - Tested the operation of the CO2 generator. With my current air exchange protocol, the results are not satisfactory yet

Though, a shorter cycle with a change of fertilizers could have been enough.   - Made another mistake with calcium after flushing, which I immediately corrected.

Happy Harvest Day!

An incredibly productive strain. Growing up to a meter, it produced around 21 colas, from which I harvested 243 grams of beautiful buds. After curing, their flavor became even more citrusy, with effects reaching cerebral levels. I definitely recommend it for cultivation.

Feedback: Well, this is my first bush in a home growbox from start to finish. The whole process turned out to be a test that required a lot of effort and time from me.   - I handmade a grow box with top and bottom lighting and height-adjustable light. It has an inlet ventilation system and two outlet ventilation systems.   - I studied a lot of materials and was happy to gain knowledge and get help from GrowDiaries and its users.   - I learned the LST technique, faced nitrogen excess and soil flushing, soil calcination and the decalcination process.   - I assembled and tested the operation of a home yeast-based CO2 generator.   The name of this girl was Hope, and she lived up to it.   Despite all the difficulties, lack of experience, mistakes, I got 1259 grams of beautiful raw cones on the scales (it would have been a bit more, had I not taken samples in the process ))) Mistakes made:   - absence of all necessary devices from the very beginning   - nutrient burn from pure fertilizers during the vegetation stage (week 4)   - use of Overdrive as the only fertilizer from the 5th to 8th week   - transition to a new, enhanced feeding schedule without flushing the soil   - approximate selection of my own fertilizer complex   - added calcium after soil decalcification Made conclusions:   - The bottom light works - the plant turns the lower leaves towards the light and carries out photosynthesis   - LESS fertilizer is better than more   - Growing on soil is technically more complex than on water (although I have not yet tried on water)   - Without measurements and devices - it's a matter of luck and chance   - Root must be in dark. Before the lower lighting was connected, the roots grew into the drainage and drank from it. Once the light appeared, they degraded.   - Learn, learn, and learn again. Plans:   - Now I want to implement ideas about an automated control system for all water supply cycles, fertilization, lighting, temperature and humidity regulation.   - I'm looking for opportunities for professional development in the field of marijuana cultivation. Ideas:   - Perhaps it's worth trying again to artificially slow down development at the end of the vegetative stage, so that the plant grows even more before flowering (as it happened to me this time).
