Just getting started with a few select Autoflower plants from Doctor's Choice Seeds.
This is Lowryder #2, the Joint Doctor's attempt to make a stronger version of the legendary first commercial autoflowering strain Lowryder by crossing his original Lowryder with another fast flowering sweet and fruity potent strain Santa Maria.
Doing great now after coming out of the seedling stage. Should start vegging very fast in the coming weeks.
We're pretty much in full veg mode now, the autos have doubled in size and are setting up new nodes and side branches quite nicely now.
They're all looking similar but slightly vary with leaves showing different ratios of sativa/Indica genetics through their builds and thickness of the leave fingers between the 3 different plants.
I was a bit worried these would be some micro plants as they are known to be more compact autos and they seemed to be somewhat slow starters through the seedling stage but they've really taken off this last week and they're looking like they should get to decent sizes by the end of the grow.
Super easy so far, no issues or troubles at all.
Lowrider had a great week 3 putting on some size as well as hitting early flower and starting to stack bud sites. She's pretty small but has a nice build and structure.
Kinda wish I went straight into the 3 gallon buckets from seed instead of starting them in cups. You only have so long with these autos before they go into flower, so everything you do is crucial to how they end up. Time to start turning the lights up to get these babies stacking.
Lowryder is quickly becoming the thickest girl in the tent with super tight node spacing and fat buds beginning to form all over her. Lowryder and DC #1 grew exactly the same at first but now they're starting to show their differences while they flower.
Anybody could grow these Doctor's Choice autos. Just feed proper nutrients and water and they'll pretty much do the rest without giving you problems.
Starting to smell sweet with the old stem rub. Excited to see how this one finishes. She's short and very tight but I love that look and ease to work with in a grow, especially with a smaller personal home grower setup like I run.
Stay tuned!
She keeps on stacking. Lowryder looks like she's setting up to head for the finish line here soon. Can easily tell she'll be the first to come down. Trichomes are starting to build now, few more weeks and the pistils will be changing to orange and red.
I totally hit the autos a bit hard with nutes in one of the last feedings. There's a tiny bit of tip burn going on but nothing I'm overly concerned about. Just gonna dial back a bit and let these gals finish up.
Lowryder #2 is showing me why she earned a spot amongst the Top 10 Canadian strains in a 2010 Hightimes article. She's a beautiful, super fast growing, delicious citrus berry smelling little autoflower strain.
She's starting to sparkle like a Lowrider with a metal flake paint job in the sun with frosty trichomes thanks to Rhize Nutrients Bloom AB
Should make for some more nice shots while she finishes up over the next few weeks
Lowryder is cruising towards the finish line. Really good frost production now as the pistils turn orange and the buds tighten up. I'm excited to see how she finishes.
Lowryder was up there with the easiest strains I've ever grown. Pretty much autopilot aside from feeding and watering. Took close to 10 weeks from seed to weed and she put on quite a show.
Was a pleasure to watch how fast these autos do their thing.
