deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 I'm kicking off the spring/summer growing season with the same enthusiasm and excitement as always, lots of dominant sativas to take advantage of the fantastic spring sun throughout the entire vegetative growth stage. I'll be growing in mixed indoor/outdoor mode until flowering, making sure the plants get as many hours of light as possible. Since I'll have to move the pots a lot from indoors to outdoors, I'm going to use 10L pots to avoid breaking my back. I'm also going to try out three new Soluble Bio Ferments based on Mountain Microorganisms (MM) and Fermented Grass for vegetative growth, and two others for flowering that have been in anaerobic fermentation since 06/18/22. Additionally, I'll be using enzymatic hydrolysates of amino acids and complex potassium hydrolysates of humic and fulvic acids with minerals. As I open them, I'll talk about them... but just a heads up, this season I'm going all out, no mercy! I want to experiment to see how far I can go with forced feeding in pots; I'm not looking for friends, I'm looking for massive crops to fill my bag with marijuana... ===================================================================== Durban Poison, a 100% sativa of African origin, another classic and legendary strain that I couldn't resist growing because I love African sativas—they take me back to happier times. I've never tried a Durban Poison, and now thanks to MSNL Seeds, I'll be able to... I'm going all out with this girl! I've prepared a light, well-aerated substrate with perlite, coconut fiber, seaweed bokashi, Biochar with MM, and worm humus; I put it in 0.45L fabric pots (7x12cm) because I want to transplant to the final pot as soon as possible. I made a watering mix to moisten the entire substrate: Mountain spring water with natural heather honey (sugars, enzymes, minerals, vitamins...), homemade auxins from black beans (hormones, rooting agents), and 1% of my Bio Mix for vegetative growth with Effective Microorganisms (EM), minerals, and basic nutrients. With this mix, I start inoculating the microbiology into the substrate; honey is an excellent rooting agent and provides energy to the Microorganisms to propagate... next, I chose the prettiest seed and buried it in the substrate, and it showed itself after 8 days. The low temperatures delayed the germination of all the seeds this season, but they have all germinated! At first, I encapsulate the pots to keep the humidity very high in the pot and thus favor germination. I keep the encapsulation until the seedling has completely shed the seed shell. After 24 hours of cheerfully peeking through the substrate, I started exposing it to light, at night under the Vipar P1000 lamp at 20% power (20w) and about 15cm from the pots, during the day near a window, avoiding direct sunlight... all for the cause! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾😄 Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 It's the second week of life for this seedling of African origin, and the rising temperatures are doing wonders for the grow. I'm expecting a lot of growth this week. Yesterday, by accident, the fragile stem bent, so I've been supporting the seedling, and this morning it was standing on its own. I'm hoping that good node forms at that bend; we'll see. For now, I'm keeping the substrate moist, and at night, I use artificial light, while during the day, it gets the warmth of the spring sun filtered through a window... all for the cause. Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 Third week of life for this strain of African origin, the seedling is striving to establish itself in the small fabric pot, the stem has recovered after the accidental bend it suffered last week. Today I started exposing all the seedlings to direct sunlight, I just have to be careful with the overheating of the pot and the moisture of the substrate. Since the initial watering, I have only watered with pure mountain water, starting from the next watering I will begin to nourish the seedlings, for the more advanced ones, those that already have true leaves, I will start with varied foliar applications, results will be seen next week. deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be!✋👨‍🌾 This season is all about cultivating legends and sativas... all for the cause! It's the fourth week of life for this African-origin strain, and the seedling is striving to show its first true leaves. The compactness is very good, and the first leaves are broad, tough, and serrated... I've always wanted to grow this strain! This week I've started fertilizing the seedlings, and the difference was immediate. A mix of natural Honey (sugars, enzymes...), Fresh Blood Hydrolysate (amino acids), Bio Mix EM is a blend of leftovers from other bio-fermented growth (Bio Fish (N, Ca, P...), Bio Coco (Hormones and minerals), Bio Blood (amino acids), Bio Mealfrass (N, P, Mg) and a bit of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea to raise the pH and provide minerals (Mg, S...). I did a deep watering and several foliar applications; the plants reacted immediately, the sprouts went into a praise position, and all the seedlings have shown evident growth... let’s play! Since these first weeks of the seedlings' life are easy to manage due to the small pots and cheap to maintain because they need few watts to grow, I'm going to wait another week before transplanting to the final pot. This way, I also ensure a good root system that will explode in the big pot. In short, I don’t count these first weeks as seedlings because they haven't entered the big game yet.✋😁 Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season is all about cultivating legends and sativas... all for the cause! Fifth week of life for this African-origin strain, the seedling continues to strengthen, it's just 3 days away from being transplanted into its final pot. The compactness is very good, and I expose it to direct sunlight whenever I can. I'm happy with the progress; once I transplant it, it's going to explode. I've noticed some issues with the small grow bags (0.45l) that I've started using this season; they tend to dry out the substrate very quickly due to the evaporation from the bag, especially when they're in the sun, and that delays root development. I've seen this when transplanting 4 other seedlings this week; I expected a larger root system, but there were no roots at the edges of the substrate due to the lack of moisture. So, I've looked for a glass container to maintain humidity in the pot and prevent evaporation. In the meantime, I've moistened the bags... all for the cause! Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️🌱 This season is all about cultivating legends and sativas... all for the cause! It's the sixth week of life for this strain of African origin. Four days ago, I transplanted it into a 10L fabric pot with a stone base. Now, the plant, comfortable in its new home, is striving to expand its roots through the substrate. This week, I expect good growth. Today, I hope my pH sensor arrives, the fourth one I’m breaking in, to start the great game of Bio Nutrition... For the substrate in the pot, I made a base mix with 25% recycled substrate from two seasons ago, which I've had in a bag for these months to lose all moisture. Additionally, I used coconut fiber, a mix of two light substrates, bokashi from algae, worm humus, perlite, and vermiculite, and finally added a wide variety of minerals: Leonardite, zeolite, azomite, Epsom salt, diatomite, illite, montmorillonite, kaolin, basalt, rock phosphate, wood ash, pumice, and several types of clay. Once well mixed and the seedling placed, I added a good layer of mulch rescued from other crops with great microbiological activity and organic matter, to which I added rice husk, a dry material rich in silica that I usually use to make bokashi, but now I'm adding it to the mulch to see its behavior and because I didn't have enough organic matter to complete the mulch for this and other plants. Next, I did a watering with 1500ml. The mix includes a Bio Fertilizer that I'm trying out for this season. I've had it in anaerobic fermentation since June of last year. It's a Bio Ferment with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA), fermented grass, and Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), to which I added water from 4 green coconuts. I’ve called it Bio Coco EM. With this bio-stimulant for crops and for the vegetative growth stage, I tried to capture the hormones (cytokinins), enzymes, and vitamins from the coconut water, as well as the multitude of minerals it contains. The water from a coconut has enough energy and minerals to germinate a coconut seed. Here you can read all about the process of creating this series of fertilizers: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/134104-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/782852 Now this strain enters the big game, with artificial light at night and capturing sunlight during the day. Starting today, I've reduced the light hours from 24h to 20h because the plants also need rest. Additionally, I've turned on the other two canopy lamps to cover the entire area of the plants. I keep the lamps very close to the plants, allowing me to maintain the lamp power at 20%. When I transplant the other 4 plants I plan to grow in this tent, I’ll have to move the lamps away and increase the power in exchange... all for big buds! Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season, growing legends and sativas... all for the cause! Seventh week of life for this strain of African origin, ten days since I transplanted it, it has gradually settled into its new home and for the past two days, it has shown continuous growth. The compactness is exceptional so far; I’m going to wait a bit longer before giving it an apical cut. Four days ago, I did a deep watering with a varied mix of Bio nutrients, quite concentrated EC: 2.25. This time, I’m still applying Bio Coco EM for energy, along with 1% of my Animal Protein Enzymatic Hydrolyzate (Amino Acids). I add Microbiology to the substrate and a high range of trace micronutrients and minerals with my Activated Mountain Microorganisms fermented with nutrients and minerals, another 1% of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea Mg, S... and traces of over 40 minerals. I needed a bit of my Leonardite Hydrolyzate to raise the pH of this mix, and finally, a component I only use once throughout the grow and only at this stage, which is gibberellic acid, a growth regulator with hormonal action that stimulates and regulates plant development. Together with cytokinins, plant hormones that regulate various aspects of plant growth and development, such as cell division or photosynthesis, I capture these hormones from coconut water to complete this mix... doing to understand! Now this strain enters the big game, under artificial light at night and capturing sun rays during the day. If the day is cloudy, like last week, they stay in the grow tent. Starting today, I’ve reduced the light hours from 24h to 19h because the plants also need rest. Of the three lamps in my grow tent canopy, the central one is at maximum power, partly because the dimmer is broken, damn it! The other two canopy lamps will enter maximum power this week, and I’ll add lights as the plants demand. Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season is all about cultivating legends and sativas... all for the cause! It's the eighth week of life for this strain of African origin. Three days ago, I made an apical cut, and at the same time, I started training the branches, did some defoliation, and prepared a varied, stimulating, and concentrated watering mix. The plant has loved it! It has grown, and the lateral branches are starting to thicken and expand. In the soil, beautiful rice seeds are growing that came with the rice hulls I'm using as mulch. I'll keep them to delight my eyes and keep this venomous lady company! This week, I'm going to start the transition to flowering for my larger plants. For this one, I'll wait until it's well-populated and branched out, although I think next week it will have considerable growth. The cloudy days continue, and the plants are just coming out of the grow tent. I've reduced the light time by half an hour, now (18h 30'), I've added a 50w LED panel to the light canopy (2700K +660nm), and now I have 4 lamps running at full power (370w). Since I keep the lamps as close as possible to the tips to compact the plants, it turns out that the light on the sides of the lamps doesn't reach enough. So this season, due to putting too many plants in my grow tent, I'm going to play with putting a powerful canopy instead of lighting from the sides. I have two COBs with lenses waiting to be placed in the canopy, this way I can maintain a short distance with the tips and light from above all sides of the tent. Additionally, I have two bars, placed vertically in two corners (50cm) with 2100K +IR LEDs that I'll connect when flowering starts and the plants grow a bit more. I'm also waiting to receive a kit of extra spacer bars for my grow tent. With this, I'm going to recover up to 20% of the horizontal space that the tent loses due to the negative pressure from the air extractors... all for the cause! Until next time... REGARDS TO EVERYONE!! ================================= Info on the Durban Poison strain: https://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/durban-poison-seeds "A pure sativa plant that has never been hybridized..." deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season is all about cultivating legends and sativas... all for the cause! Ninth week of life for this strain of African origin, the plant grows with a very sturdy columnar structure and very short internodes. Today I made a second apical cut to see if the branches get encouraged to expand sideways. Nevertheless, it’s an easy crop to manage. After 12 hours in the grow tent, I take it out for 6 hours of direct sunlight. I’m going to extend the vegetative growth for another week; I’m excited to see the crop evolve. I’m convinced I’m growing a very special strain! The watering consumption is on the rise; for now, it’s moderate and stable. This week, I did a deep multi-component watering to which I added auxins (to redirect energy to the lateral branches), gibberellic acid (cell division), and Borax (Boron to strengthen and energize the roots). I also made a couple of stimulating foliar applications with homemade amino acids and vitamins... Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season cultivating legendary sativas... all for the cause! This poisonous lady has been in flowering for two weeks now, and these days water consumption has skyrocketed. I've done three deep waterings this week and added dry amendments cooked with mountain microorganisms (MM) covered with green leaf mulch... fresh salad to keep the substrate microbiology happy and working hard... all for my bacteria! These days the plant has greatly strengthened its branches and stems, the leaves are very tough compared to other crops, the structure is columnar and not very branched, but I hope to get buds of at least 20cm long on each branch, no matter how thick they get, it can be done, the plant is telling me so!.. yes, and I’m a hopeless optimist who loves bad girls! And speaking of girls, the plant is resisting entering flowering, it doesn’t want to become an adult... and I understand it! 😁 Yesterday I did a major defoliation on all the plants, I’m not fond of this technique, but I’m forced by the need for space and I want maximum light penetration through the canopy, since this season I’m hardly going to add side light. The loss of leaf mass takes away from the plant's splendor, but it will recover in a few days... let’s play! Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 This season, cultivating legendary sativas... all for the cause! Today, without mercy, I committed a crime... A few hours ago, while gazing at my garden of joy, I discovered with astonishment a stowaway, a lecherous intruder, an alpha male in all his glory, a sneaky bastard lurking in the corner. He waited 85 days to show his true face, my still-teenage females were in danger, this satyr, the great disguised fornicator, the fox in the henhouse, had been waiting for his chance to leave, without consent, his perverted pollen on my girls, still innocent and pure. Ah! Uncontrollable rage at seeing this infiltrated and treacherous male, a lascivious unexpected conspirator, an obscene character whom I immediately banished from the grow tent, it was night, he slept in the dew, alone, like a pariah, far from those he thought were his family, he had broken the Sacred Rule with dishonest lust: "This garden is no place for males," the law of this grow tent is clear, whoever breaks it will be executed with great pain and their remains will be scattered in the Mulch of my female plants. At dawn, in front of the profaned grow tent, I summoned the most heartless executioner, I didn’t ask for mercy, I asked the condemned for his last wish, he wanted to smoke a joint of organic marijuana, I smoked too, then I sat down, voices were heard pleading for clemency, the executioner did his job magnificently, the great conspirator stallion suffered greatly as his branches were severed from the trunk and thrown to the ground with barbaric disdain. 😈 The empty space left in the grow tent was immediately occupied by 3M ▼ La gitanilla, a plant that is going to be a big talker and that leaves her homemade tent to join the rest of the females, she comes with a 7L pot, but she is ready to compete at the highest level with her sister and companions grown in 11L pots… let the games begin. Now my little homemade tent is exclusively for the two sister and autoflowering plants I am growing this season. Today I executed a vicious male and enjoyed telling it… I’m going to roll another joint! Until next time... Fabric grow bags are excellent for air root pruning. I am extremely experimenting with mesh pots as they have bigger holes like air pots. I read a lot about air pruning and it seems like best way to give a start to the plant. By any chance you tried to make wetting agent?

@@SPRAMOAH, you'll see in my grows that I've used various types of pots, old school with holes, air-pots, and fabric pots; I like them all, but in the end, I stick with the fabric ones over stone-based. I don't use wetting agents; I combine coconut fiber, vermiculite, and zeolite for my substrates, which retain moisture and nutrients. I keep a close eye on water consumption in the pots and have raised the humidity levels in the pots; my bio fertilizers leave no mineral salt residues in the substrate, so I can maintain high levels of watering with soluble bio nutrients.

@deFharo, it's quite interesting you mentioned about high levels of irrigation because I was working on something similar to EARTHBOX. I tried to make a hybrid between EARTHBOX and hempy bucket to have high level of irrigation through bottom or top feeding like organic hydroponic feed with control of special valve similar to ORIGINAL autopots. I tried to bottom feed the plants and I find it very productive. I hope I will show it in my diaries

Looks great. Considering it's a pure sativa she will be way way taller with wide and thick branches. Feeding her with HUMATO PK (transition) you definitely need heavy duty extra space bars to give her more room!

deFharo commented3y ago
Yes, I was expecting a taller plant, although it's starting to wake up. I've used PK humate this time to raise the pH since I didn't have Ormus, which I also use to raise the pH, although PK humate is good at any time.

Looks like this Lady managed ok leaf stripping and will grow more soon. Its better have less buds than all rotten. I bet you will strip her once more time to see what she is hiding under the skirt :-). Really, I stripped sometimes two times and never had any issues BUT I did it only to HEALTHY plants when I had no choice as you! Have a great time!!! 😀

The plant wishes to not partake of the poison called "growing up", I do not blame it either.
