AMG (Amnesia Mac Ganja) is a sativa-dominant hybrid with a THC level of 22% and stimulating effects... I love the name of this strain, I'm all in, silver or lead! After 24 hours, the tip of the root peeked through the substrate, so I carefully turned it over and there it was, fighting to survive... but days later, the seed didn't make it (06/04/23), so I threw another seed into the substrate to see if there's better luck this time... all for the cause! =========================================== I'm starting the spring/summer growing season, with the same enthusiasm and excitement as always, many dominant sativas to take advantage of the fantastic spring sun throughout the vegetative growth stage. I will grow in a mixed indoor/outdoor mode until flowering, trying to give the plants as many hours of light as possible, and since I will have to move the pots a lot from indoors to outdoors, I will grow in 10L pots to avoid breaking my back. I'm also going to debut three new Soluble Bio Ferments based on Mountain Microorganisms (MM) and Fermented Grass for vegetative growth, and two others for flowering that have been in anaerobic fermentation since 18/06/22, as well as other enzymatic hydrolysates of amino acids and complex potassium hydrolysates of humic and fulvic acids with minerals. As I open them, I'll talk about them... but I warn you, this season I'm all in, no mercy, I want to experiment to see how far I can go with forced feeding in pots. I'm not looking for friends; I'm looking for massive crops to fill my bag with marijuana... I've prepared a light, well-aerated substrate with perlite, coconut fiber, seaweed bokashi, Biochar with MM, and worm humus; I put it in 0.45L fabric pots (7x12cm) because I want to transplant as soon as possible to the final pot. I made a watering mix to moisten the entire substrate: Mountain spring water with natural heather honey (sugars, enzymes, minerals, vitamins...), homemade auxins from black beans (hormones, rooting) and 1% of my Bio Mix for vegetative growth with Effective Microorganisms (EM), minerals, and basic nutrients. With this mix, I start the inoculation of microbiology into the substrate; honey is an excellent rooting agent and provides energy to the Microorganisms to propagate... next, I chose the prettiest seed and buried it in the substrate, and it showed itself after 7 days. The low temperatures delayed the germination of all the seeds this season, but they have all germinated! At first, I encapsulate the pots to keep the humidity very high in the pot and thus favor germination. I keep the encapsulation until the seedling has completely detached from the seed shell. Today I've started exposing all the seedlings to direct sunlight; I just have to be careful with the overheating of the pot and the moisture of the substrate. During the night, I keep the seedlings under the Vipar P1000 lamp at 20% power (20w) and about 6-7cm away from the tips, since this week I start exposing the seedlings to the sun, I will also increase the power and proximity of the lamp. A total of 24h of indoor/outdoor light. Since the initial watering, I've only watered with pure mountain water; starting with the next watering, I'm going to begin feeding the seedlings. For the more advanced ones, the ones that already have true leaves, I will start with various foliar applications; results will be seen next week. Until next time... It's the third week since seed, the seedling is evolving, and it has started to show its first true leaves, which are broad and short. The seedling is showing a good tendency to compactness, and I keep it in the grow tent while there's no sun. This week I started fertilizing the seedlings, and it was immediately noticeable. A mix of natural honey (sugars, enzymes...), fresh blood hydrolysate (amino acids), Bio Mix EM is a blend of remnants from other bio-fermented products for vegetative growth (Bio Fish (N, Ca, P...), Bio Coco (hormones and minerals), Bio Blood (amino acids), Bio Mealfrass (N, P, Mg), and a bit of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea to raise the pH and provide minerals (Mg, S...). I did a deep watering and several foliar applications, and the plants reacted immediately. The shoots went into a position of praise, and all the seedlings have shown evident growth... let’s play! Fourth week from seed, the seedling has strengthened and doubled in size, the compactness is very good and the leaves show a lot of firmness, it’s ready for transplanting, I’ll do it in 2-3 days. I've noticed some issues with the small grow bags (0.45l) that I’ve started using this season, they tend to dry out the substrate very quickly due to evaporation from the bag, especially when they’re in the sun, and that delays root development. I noticed this when transplanting another 4 seedlings this week; I expected a larger root system, but there were no roots at the edges of the substrate due to lack of moisture, so I’ve looked for a glass container to keep the humidity in the pot and prevent evaporation. In the meantime, I’ve moistened the bags... all for the cause! Until next time... Fifth week from seed, transplant week, four days ago I moved the seedling to an old-school 11L pot with side aeration, the plant looks happy, now she is focused on expanding her roots through the substrate, tonight I will give her a good stimulating watering to help her settle in the pot... let the game continue! For the potting substrate, I made a base mix with 25% recycled substrate from two seasons ago, which I’ve had in a bag for these months to lose all moisture, plus coconut fiber, a mix of two light substrates, bokashi from seaweed, worm humus, perlite, and vermiculite, and finally added a wide variety of minerals: Leonardite, zeolite, azomite, Epsom salt, diatomite, illite, montmorillonite, kaolin, basalt, phosphate rock, wood ash, pumice, and various types of clay. Once well mixed and the seedling placed, I added a good layer of mulch rescued from other crops with great microbiological activity and organic matter to which I added rice husk, a dry material rich in silica that I usually use to make bokashi, but now I’m adding it to the mulch to see how it behaves and because I didn’t have enough organic matter to complete the mulch for this and other plants. Next, I did a watering with 1500ml, the mix includes a Bio Fertilizer that I’m trying out for this season, I’ve had it in anaerobic fermentation since June of last year. It’s a Bio Ferment with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA), fermented grass, and Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) to which I added water from 4 green coconuts, I’ve called it Bio Coco EM. With this bio-stimulant for crops and for the vegetative growth stage, I’ve tried to capture the hormones (cytokinins), enzymes, and vitamins from the coconut water, as well as the multitude of minerals it contains. The water from a coconut has enough energy and minerals to germinate a coconut seed. Starting today, I’ve reduced the light hours from 24h to 20h because the plants also need rest. I’ve also turned on the other two lamps in the canopy to cover the entire area of the plants, I keep the lamps very close to the plants, which allows me to maintain the power of the lamps at 50%. Six weeks from seed, the plant is showing its joy in the new pot, the great growth this week forced me to do an apical cut three days ago, and soon I'll start training it to shape it. The plant, besides being vigorous, shows good compactness and responds positively to all the food I give it; the leaves have expanded a lot, and everything is going very well! Today I decided to measure the substrate temperature, and it reads 24°C at 10cm depth, practically the same as the ambient temperature with the lights on. Today when I turn off the lights, I'll wait a couple of hours and take the temperature reading at night to see the difference and if the substrate cools down as quickly as the ambient temperature. Four days ago, I did a deep watering with a varied mix of bio-nutrients, quite concentrated EC: 2.25. This time, I'm still applying Bio Coco EM to provide energy, along with 1% of my Animal Protein Enzymatic Hydrolysate (Amino Acids). I add Microbiology to the substrate and a high range of trace micronutrients and minerals with my fermented Activated Mountain Microorganisms with nutrients and minerals, another 1% of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea Mg, S... and traces of over 40 minerals. I needed a bit of my Leonardite Hydrolate to raise the pH of this mix, and finally, a component I only use once throughout the grow and only at this stage, which is gibberellic acid, a hormonal growth regulator that stimulates and regulates plant development. Together with cytokinins, plant hormones that regulate various aspects of plant growth and development, such as cell division or photosynthesis, I capture these hormones from coconut water to complete this mix... just to understand! Now this strain enters the big game, during the night with artificial light, during the day capturing rays of sun. If the day is cloudy, like last week, they stay in the grow tent. Starting today, I've reduced the light hours from 24h to 19h because the plants also need rest. Of the three lamps in the canopy of my grow tent, the central one is at maximum power, among other things because the dimmer is broken, damn it! Seventh week from seed, the plant is fully fused with the substrate, growing and strengthening. Two days ago, I started some serious training to shape the plant and curb vertical growth. I also did some defoliation; this growing season, I'm going to do more defoliations than usual because I like plants with lots of branches and large leaf masses. However, this time, since I have the tent packed with plants, I'm going to concentrate all the energy on the top, pruning lower branches and cutting leaves to facilitate light entry. This week, a stimulating watering with varied components, I'm also debuting a Bio Fertilizer with Nitrogen, Calcium, and Magnesium. Additionally, this week all the plants received a good dose of my Bio Silicon Ferment; I want to strengthen branches and trunk because they will have to support a lot of weight this season ✋😁. El Patrón has responded immediately to the watering, growing, thickening trunk and branches, consuming more water, and expanding above and below the soil... silver or lead! This week, I'm going to start the transition to flowering for my biggest plants; this one is probably one of them! The cloudy days continue, the plants are just coming out of the grow tent. I've reduced the light time by half an hour, now (18h 30'), I've added a 50w LED panel to the light canopy (2700K +660nm), and now I have 4 lamps running at maximum power (370w). Since I keep the lamps as close as possible to the tips to compact the plants, it turns out that the light on the sides of the lamps doesn't reach sufficiently. So this season, due to having too many plants in my grow tent, I'm going to play around with putting a powerful canopy instead of lighting from the sides. I have two COBs with lenses waiting to be placed in the canopy; this way, I can maintain a short distance with the tips and light from above all sides of the tent. Also, I have two bars, placed vertically (50cm) in two corners with 2100K +IR LEDs that I will connect when flowering begins and the plants grow a bit more. I'm also waiting to receive a kit of extra spacer bars for my grow tent; with this, I will manage to recover up to 20% of the horizontal space that the tent loses due to the negative pressure from the air extractors... all for the cause! First week since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h, you can especially notice the decrease in metabolic activity due to the 6-hour reduction in light, water consumption drops a lot during these transition days, and in old-school pots, this phenomenon is more pronounced compared to fabric pots. When the plant begins flowering, water consumption will resume, as the intense hormonal change that comes with the transition to flowering will have been completed, and from then on, the plant will start asking for more nutrients. With this grow, I wanted to push the flowering transition forward by a week, as I see a very strong and compact structure that will stretch just enough, maximizing exposure to the lights. This week, a deep watering with various components, including auxin hormones, Borax, or Bio Silica. I've also made a couple of stimulating foliar applications with Amino Acids (Hidro Blood) and fruit vitamins... life goes on! Until next time... Third week since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h, El Patron claims its territory in the grow tent... El Patron commands and I obey!! Explosive flowering of this proud plant, beautiful and immaculate floral buds are furiously and eagerly peeking out to take a good spot in the canopy, I think this is going to be a fast and... monstrous grow! Yesterday I did a major defoliation on all the plants, for this plant it's a bit forced, as I don't like to defoliate when the plants are already in flowering but I think it will hold up well given the vigor it shows, in general, I'm not fond of this technique, but I'm forced by the need for space and I want the maximum light penetration through the canopy, since this season I'm barely going to add side light, the loss of leaf mass takes away splendor from the plant, but it will recover in a few days, but in return, the floral buds are more exposed to light... let’s play! The plant is fully focused on flower formation, dominating its corner of the grow tent from a pedestal, worthy of its rank, as the final size of the plant has forced me to raise it to bring the flower buds as close to the lights as possible. For me, the combination of organic feeding with high light intensity is vital for the plant to generate a lot of energy and nutrient consumption... we are in the great game of photosynthesis! Water consumption is acceptable for the type of pot, I water deeply every four days, this week stimulating waterings to further strengthen the crop for what’s coming from now on. The crop is more or less halfway through the flowering game, from now on I will start with stronger components for fattening and flowering. Great metabolism and water consumption, this week raising the EC level for the watering of this plant, plus trying two new Bio Fertilizers for flowering, one is a Bio Fermented with MM that contains four important elements for flowering: Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium, the other is a Potassium Hydrolyzed from bird and bat guano with Azomite (Guamato AZ), plus this alkaline preparation helps me regulate the pH of the mixes. Eleven weeks of flowering, this Santa Patrona, daughter of El Patron, has been executed... Today, 137 days after throwing the seed into the substrate, this great strain has proudly reached the day of its sacrifice. After a final purifying watering with mountain water, the last two days enjoying all the possible hours of light, and when it was still warm from the last rays of midday sun, I mercilessly cut the neck of the trunk. The plant fell heavily onto the substrate, collapsing onto itself, without complaint, without pain, without tears... Not having space in the drying rooms, for this plant I preferred to do a defoliation and cut it whole. Now it hangs upside down and in peace until I put it in the curing jars... It's clearly seen that trunk become a large pipe transferring all the goodness you feed her with. She definitely needs a silicone to keep heavy flowers. BIO SILICONE fertilizer is one I need to make too. Do you use particular minerals? Thanks

@FarmerJon, Hello, I answer you with pleasure. Humato Blood is the name I have given to a new irrigation formula that I am testing this season. Humato is known as the Potassium Hydrolyzation of Leonardite, I do it at home, I add phosphoric rock and I have used it intensively in the flowering stage for several seasons. In a similar way I make Hydro blood, but this time through Enzymatic Hydrolysis, I convert fresh pig or cow blood (70% protein) into amino acids. Humato Blood is a mixture of Humato (70%) with Hydro Blood (30%), both are fully integrated and the intention is to use this product as a Bio Stimulant, when needed, from vegetative growth to the end of the crop.

@FarmerJon, to enhance the aromas and flavors, even colors in cannabis, I use a different type of components; Humato Blood won't be a Fertilizer for the last weeks of flowering either. It's true that the enzymatic hydrolysis of fresh blood has a strong smell, but it's not putrid since blood doesn't rot; rather, the enzymes break down the protein in the blood into very potent amino acids, and this releases a strong odor. With the mixture I've made with the Humato, I've managed to greatly tone down the strong smell, as the humic acids in the Humato chelate or incorporate these amino acids; however, the quality of the product for the plants is superb. Personally, I don't like putrefaction, but I recognize that it's a cultural issue; in much of Asian agriculture, they work with putrefaction, because the truth is that the greater the putrefaction and odor, the more nitrogen the product contains.
