This is by day 7. Plants have come out of the ground and seem to be doing well. I am a complete amateur first time grow and using 5l pots. No added nutrients, only water.
Left on holidays for two weeks so relied on my housemate to water the plants. Couldn't tell her which plants it was so not sure how she watered it. Still using no nutrients. I read that 5 liter pot is too small and am considering moving them to a larger one. Also didn't know I needed special nutrients so am also thinking about using them.
Growth seems to be fine. Hasn't grown much vertically only 4cm. But seems to be gaining a lot of stem thickness and many young leaves are coming out making it bushier. I am still considering a larger pot but not sure if it is necessary. Can anybody tell me if 5l is ok for my plant. I don't need to maximize yield and a super large plant is not needed. Just wondering if a smaller pot (5l) could still harvest a nice healthy plant with a decent yield. I am still using no nutrients and only water. I am really considering buying a booster to help out since my soil might run out of nutrients soon.
This week I repotted two of my three plants into 10l pots (2.6 gallon). I cut out the bottom of the pot and just placed the smaller pot in the larger one trying to stress the plant as least as possible. The move seems to not have stressed the plant too much and looks healthy. I wanted to start giving it nutrients right after the move but my nutrients ordered online are facing a small delay. Starting tomorrow they shall also get an extra boost of organic matter, potassium and nitrogen. Flowering has begun this week with the first pistils appearing on the top of the plant. The plant seems healthy and is starting to grow side branches. Hopefully it keeps growing well the upcoming weeks. The weather has been terrible with lots of rain and little sunshine so hopefully this upcoming week is better.
This week they continued growing at about the same pace as the week before. They are almost 40cm now (15inch) and all three are growing at a similar pace. I started using 5ml of organic boom boom spray in order to give them a nutrient boost during this flowering period. One plant as can be seen on one of the pictures is starting to growing a sturdy side branch. The other two plants are a little behind with side branches. One plant as seen on the cover foto has purple/blue buds. Will the others also turn this color? It looks pretty cool.
This week started out great with warm sunny days but the past few days has been very windy. I had to take them off the ledge of the balcony due to the wind. Some leaves have started to suffer from windburn (you can see it in the last photo). The plants are growing at a similar pace as previously weeks and are full intoflowering. You can begin to see resin on the leaves. There is still no smell at all at this point.
This week the weather has been much better with plenty of sun. The plants have slowed down growth vertically but the side branches are growing fast now and the buds have also grown bigger in the past week. Due to the cold temperatures at night one plant has turned even more purple with the leaves also turning purple. Some of the lower leaves, the older leaves are turning yellow and dying is this normal? Hopefully harvest comes soon because night temps are expected to keep decreasing in the next few weeks. Winter is coming :(
This week started off really cold. I think they have suffered a bit from it because growth has slowed down and the buds remain very small. This week the day temps shall rise back to 20 degrees celcius and shall be sunny all week. Hopefully that shall help the plants develop their buds further. Other than the cold the week has been stress free with little wind to worry about. Also I am unsure of how much water to give my plants in this phase?
Hey, I have a black blackberry going on too, mine is a bit smaller, but the pheno's looks about the same.
i'll post some pictures wednesday, the quality will be better and more tiny black bud will be visible
@DeWandelaar Hi i'm growing BGA too, I've noticed starting to flower now 5 weeks vegging, mine is about 24cm so will be interesting to see how much she stretches lovely colours on the bud you've got there!
@ibis007 Hey, just saw your diary as well, your plant looks good and healthy. Seems like our plants are growing at a similar pace also. I'm interested to see how your plants further develops. Good luck with the upcoming weeks and hopefully we can both have a good harvest
