You are probably here because this diary won 1st place in the 2023 Seedsman Outdoor Competition. I have a few things to say about that.
This plant fell over, its roots damaged and died, before it could be harvested. It was my own foolish fault, only tying it off to the fence it was growing next to. All my stakes and fencing were being used for other large bushes at the time.
I did not deserve this win. I didn't succeed in growing an outdoor cannabis crop. I took a few nice pictures, and that I suppose was all they (the contest organizers) were looking for. I spent a good two hours today looking over many many diaries that were entered into this contest, and there are some incredible entries, most of which belong above this one. Congratulations to everyone else. Some of you really have a talent for outdoor. I've been doing it for a long time, but it's just a hobby on a small scale, trying to make medicine for me and my dad.
This is the first contest I even placed in. I was surprised when I found out I won. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I wish I could share my winnings with some other great entry growers from the contest. There are so many growers on this site that inspire me, and I am still trying to learn some of their expert techniques. I've come a long way, still not to where I need to be, but getting better. Thanks for all the support to everyone that pushed me to keep improving and not to give up!

So, unfortunately this plant died last week, but I never got a chance to updating it.
She actually got destroyed by two causes.
First, her largest cola started to die. The leaves on it turned yellow on the first day. On the second day, nearly all of the bud had bud rot on it, and new colas were starting to decay. The reason was not mold this time. It was butterflies. Yes, stupid butterflies killed my plant. Butterflies lay eggs at the end of summer, and bud worms, aka caterpillars hatch. They eat leaves, stems, and buds without stopping. This damage opens them up to infection to bacteria and fungus. And that's that.
After chopping all of the damage off and locating the little pests that caused the damage, the very next day the weather from Hurricane Lee ripped her out of the ground.
End of diary.
@love_2_grow, yeah it is at the top of my priority list. I have to go find some more. I am lagging behind on some of my outdoor tasks. I kind of went overboard this year. My outdoor diaries only account for about half of the plants. I have 20. :)
Wünsche dir viel Erfolg Growmie . Schön zu sehen wenn sie draußen wachsen unter der Sonne 🌞. Hätte ich die Möglichkeit würde ich auch outdoor growen 🌞🍀🌞🍀🌞🍀🌞
Have you ever considered growing any Ethos, In-House, Seed Junky, Exotic Genetics?
My problem is availability, I don’t fancy buying from overseas. I wouldn’t want to spend a small fortune, for it to potentially take weeks to arrive and then there’s the chance it may be lost in transit or tampered with.
I generally only buy seeds from vendors in my own country.
@PersonalSmok3s, I have tried getting my hands on some In-House and Exotic through a trade once, but it never went through. I sort of have a lot of cultivars and I can't really justify buying any, especially overseas, but even for breeders here in the US.
The reason why I won't buy any seeds for a while is because I have been growing the same crappy genetics outdoors for 20 years, and a few sponsors and growmies supplied me with some seeds that will last me quite a while, and will be far better than anything I consumed in a long time.
That said, I would be happy to trade with anyone. Just send me a message.
