I used the cotton rounds method. Accidentally let them sit for 48 hours instead of checking at 24. The Widow & Surprises taproot both went underneath the surface of the cotton and I had to gently pry them loose. They also both had the seed shell come loose before I got them planted. I was worried they wouldn't Sprout through.

This week was fine. I watered them 3x I think. Temps are pretty high so I'm looking into getting a larger fan and bring those down to at least 80. Will make humidity domes asap. Took 48hrs to Sprout. I'm growing them on a small table in my closet with 2 white presentation poster boards that have 2 flaps that open up and can move at different angles. These are the "walls" of my grow space and hopefully the flat white color is reflective enough. 2 grow lamps are above the table, lengthwise, ends touching. The widow auto was a free seed from MSNL, so grateful for that :)

Been keeping temps down by keeping the flowering light off. It seems to have improved growth rate but maybe it's all in my head. I've noticed lots of growth this week. My surprise plant is even growing sets of leaves at the base of some of the stems, yay!!

I topped the surprise plant 6 days ago and it JUST NOW has some nubs poking through. It had 3 cotylendons at Sprout and grew really fast, the others are catching up quickly. I hope topping wasn't a bad choice, I really thought it would have recovered by now. My last grow went into flower at beginning of week 5 and I want more growth before then :/ ~ The Magnum has some weird leaf thing going on and I'm not sure what it is but I'm going with it. The widow auto has cute, chubby leaves on it, it's been an ease to grow so far. I haven't fed her any grow nutes yet but will introduce those at next watering. I'll be using Dyna-Gro along with Big Mikes OG tea. Ph and everything has been perfect. I'm growing in Mother Earth's soil that has vermiculite. I started LST on the 2 smaller plants, the Widow & Magnum. I won't be topping them. I'll continue doing light LST until mid flower. No lst on the surprise Auto. Wish me luck!

I ended up doing some lst to the surprise to open up the canopy. I stopped LST on the magnum, I'm curious to see how it grows without it. My first grow was a magnum. Everything is looking good. I want to get another grow light because they don't seem like they're getting enough energy. I'm also considering covering my white boards with mylar film for that increased reflective goodness. I gave the girls their first grow nutrients and they thoroughly enjoyed it! Hoping for a good grow and super intrigued to figure out what the surprise plant is.

It's been an eventful week. Last week I noticed my surprise plant "clawing", the day before I had read up on nitrogen toxicity by chance and immediately identified that issue. I flushed a few gallons of water through the pot, the clawing has reduced. I haven't been feeding any nutes this last week to any of the girls. I'll give them another week before I introduce them back. The surprise plant FINALLY grew back where I topped it but it only had one main Cola and since it's already entered flower I went ahead and chopped that growth, no point now, plus it was hidden underneath the tallest branches. I've learned that my Magnum has tobacco mosaic disease or some shit, which produces a mosaic, discolored pattern on the leaves twisted growth, slow growth, reduced yield blah blah. It truly sucks but I'm going to go through with harvest anyway, even though she's the tiniest of my girls. All plants have entered flower. The surprise plant gave me a heart attack because I thought it was a male but now I believe what I thought was pollen sacs ended up being bud formations lol. I have stopped all training on the plants since I don't have much room on the table I am growing them on. I think I bit off more than I can chew w 3 plants under these lights with a combined wattage of 220w. I haven't defoliated yet as I want as many leaves as possible collecting light and utilizing that to help with stretching and bud formation. I'm thinking I will defoliate in a week and 1 day, at the end of flowering week 2. I've been raising the lights when the tallest growth is at 10 inches away from the lamp. I raise it 13" to assist w stretching. Idk if its working and actually helping them stretch towards the light but it seems to be. They are each over 12" now. Thanks for checking out my diary, be sure to follow along so you can see what these tiny girls end up doing!

I've had nutrient issues show up on all the plants this week, most likely due to ph issues so I'm now bringing ph down to a 6 with fresh aloe Vera. Looking like phosphorus deficiency and potassium excess. Magnum and Surprise don't have new growth but the widow does so I have her under a lamp with both veg and bloom lighting while the others sit under bloom lighting. Been watering every day now, started bloom nutes this week with no issues yet. I ended up doing some light defoliation, removing all bud sites 6 inches up from the base. The smells are starting to come through on the Magnum and surprise. Magnum smells very pine-like and the Surprise smells straight up DANK, like skunk & citrus. The widow was a free seed and I'm so ecstatic it's the tallest plant!! Fingers crossed it has a good harvest.

Ph pen wasn't calibrated after a drop, that's where my ph nutrient issues have stemmed from. I think I've finally narrowed it down to Cal-Mag deficiency, phosphorus deficiency, zinc deficiency, and potassium excess(lmk what you think, pictures included). I've been watering with the correct ph for 8 days, only seeing symptoms of zinc & calmag deficiency, but only on the widow. The widow has basically tripled in size since last week (36in.) and hasn't stopped growing in height. I've raised my grow light as high as possible. Woke up this morning and it was 2 inches away from lamp. Not sure how I'll figure this one out. I really need to defoliate but haven't bc of nute issues. My lamps have only been on flower, I turn veg on for the pics. Should I have both veg & flower on?? Surprise and Magnum are similar in height, with buds swelling everyday. I think the surprise seed is gorilla glue or green Crack based off MSNLs list of 20 best selling strains which is what the "auto surprise" is supposed to contain. Not knowing the strain is killing me, I don't think I'll ever buy a surprise pack again lol. My next grow will be Gorilla Zkittlez auto & OG Kush auto, so follow along if you wanna see that (:

Been feeding bloom & tea with every other watering. I skipped a watering and since then the widow has yellowing on the bottom leaves, dropping leaves every day. Not sure what's wrong. Both the surprise and Magnum had dry, brown blotches on the leaf edges on bottom most leaves. Unsure if what I'm seeing is an excess or possible fungus gnat damage. I've been finding fungus gnats stuck to the top of surprise colas. // I've noticed lots of fuzzies settling on colas. My grow space is in my closet and not closed off from the environment so my fan blows stuff onto them :/ good thing it's only for personal use lol. I think I'll do a flush in the upcoming week to try and figure out this nute issue. Wish me luck. I'm hoping the 2 smaller plants will be ready to harvest at the same time so I can use their lamp for the widow. It seems to be behind the others by a couple weeks. I did some light defoliation on both small plants to expose more bud sites.

Hi. I need some solid advice as to what could be causing my lower leaves to be turning dark brown on the tips and edges. When looking closely, the browning has a bumpy texture and what looks like a fine, grey powder. Excess, deficiency? Idk

Leaf edges browning is normally and indication of over watering. If it's just the tips, it's nutrient burn 🔥. If you have been watering to much, hold back for a couple of days,... the damage is done on the current leaves, but new growth should bounce back. Happy growing bud.

Spent this week trying to figure out what's wrong with these plants. The surprise seems to have suffered from over watering. All 3 look like they have potassium deficiency along w calmag issues on random leaves. The widow and surprise seem to also have phosphorous deficiency. I've got feedback from my grow questions that I've got nute burn but I don't think I do. I think my burned tips are from the potassium deficiency. I've been watering the 2 smaller plants every other day, nutes one watering 3/4 tsp of bloom dyna grow 3-12-6 then plain ph'd water the next watering. With those measurements my ppm is around 380 going in, but the dark foliage has me scared to add more nutes. I'm pretty confused this grow and already looking forward to my next one so I can get a restart lol. I've learned a lot this 2nd time around. NEXT GROW: Gorilla Zkittlez Auto & OG Kush Auto

Good week, fed the smaller 2 one last time and will do only water till harvest. Popped buds from both under microscope, no amber trichs yet. I give it a week or 2 before they're ready. I did a final defoliation to expose bud sites, I think it was a good idea. // Widow is still losing leaves due to yellowing then dropping but stacking on weight. Give it 2 weeks tops before buds are ripe . The smells are divine :)

No nutes this week. Did a flush today. Considering getting a tent bc the amount of cat hair on these buds is embarrassing. What I cant pluck off will be handled by the grinder 😅. Took a nug off each plant to observe under microscope. Widow had about 90% cloudy trichomes, Surprise 40% cloudy and Magnum mostly clear. Will flush again in 3 days. Smelling amazing so far. Absolute heaven.

Did a fan leaf snip then about 3 days later (today) did a sugar leaf snip. Widow was super easy to trim with far spaced nodes. I was able to trim it completely without cutting any branches or buds off.// Surprise plant was a nightmare to trim, lots of under developed buds and leaves but it did have nitrogen toxicity at one point. // The Magnum has been pretty easy so far. It has the best scent out of the three, very sweet. Giant buds. This is my 2nd grow tho xD, so, giant to me. My last Magnum had nothing compared to this one. Should be done trimming tomorrow and will update harvest in a couple weeks (:

Experienced nitrogen toxicity w this plant which led to underdeveloped buds and a greener taste than I would have liked. Smelled skunk with citrus undertones. Would have been amazing at peak level.
