Happy Friday Growmies,
Welcome to what im calling my Risky Freak Diary.Risky because ive never tried a photoperiod in the UK before and our weathers unpredictable at the best of times, could be setting myself up for failure but lets see what we can do 😊
Shes had an interesting start seed took a few days to sprout in water, i planted her with tweezers just below the surface, a couple of days later i checked on her as she hadnt come up and for some reason shed started burrowing downwards and had to be resued.
This gal will be started indoors and then put outside when shes big enough to fend off the mighty British snail!!
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Growmies,
Growth hss been slow this week and shes looking a little anemic, ive turned the light down as still getting used to it and not sure if its too strong, but also gonna give less water as i may have given to much.
Hopefully she'll perk up next week and really looking forward to when her leaves get bigger.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Hello Friends,
Well what can i say apart from this is my worst ever start on a diary.
Im currently trialing a new peat free compost for the garden as i grow allot of vegtables in the summer. I decided to try this gal in it as it seemed to have a nice open structure. However over the past week shes been very unhappy with leaves dying.
I dug her up yesterday and whilst the top half of the pot was ok the bottom was not draining and she has been slowly drowning 😑
Ive now repotted her in canna pro plus and given her a shot of great white. Hopefully she'll be ok as if not il have to retire from grow diaries!
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Hello Friends Happy Friday,
Well its been touch and go this week.
Her one set of leaves started yellowing and i thought she wasn't gonna pull through. However shes had a good few days of full sun on the window sill outside, shes started a new set and i think shes deffo gonna make it 😊😊😊
Horray thats all from me, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
My Risky Freak has put on a little growth this week, not allot but she definitely recovering.
Ive been keeping her in overnight and in the day shes been basking in the lovely sunshine weve been having.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
Well weve had another cracking week of sunshine here in the UK, tempretures are lovely and warm and for the moment they look to stay.
My little gals in full recovery now and putting on new leaves, growth is irregular as you might expect with one leaf smaller than the other and another set on its way although its difficult to see currently.
During the day shes outside on a window ledge and im bringing her in when night falls. She will be put out and repotted eventually but for now im keeping her safe until bigger.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
Well weve had another solid week of Sun here in the UK which is good and my little freak is recovering proper. I actually feel like shes grown this week which is good 😊
Leaf shape is becoming more irregular and she looks more like a fern than anything else. I love the fact that shes been sat outside my house on a window ledge in the street and no ones given her a second glance 😊
I need to find another pot for her soon and then she'll be going in the garden for the summer.
Thats all from me this week, tganks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
Well my gals in her final resting place in the garden, shes been transferred into 2.5 gallon fabric pot with organic slug pelletts which have wool in them, apparently they dont like the feel of it under foot. Theyve been working so far with me other crops so should be ok.
Growth has been good this week, she seems happy in her new home and weve had another cracking week of Sun here in the UK 😊
Im going to wait till shes a bit bigger and shes gonna get topped, the Humbolt into says finishing veginning of October for northern latitudes so plenty of time yet.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by😊✌️
Hello Friends Happy Friday 😊
Well my gals had a good week, weve had mainly sunny days and shes put on a good bit of growth 😊
Ive topped her yesterday as shes ready to start filling out and still got time to make her into a nice little bush.
For anyone wondering why theres been no feeding up until now, after my first mishap with the peat free compost shes now been put in a different one which is the John West peat free with added nutrients and bio 3, its just standard garden stuff but she seems pefectly happy now.
Thats all from me this week thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
Well weve had a rainy cloudy week here in the UK with only a couple of days of Sun, but my freak still looks happy and healthy.
Still no feed as her leaf colour suggests that she still has plenty of nitrogen and is growing nicely. I've read in some diaries that this strain dosen't take well to topping but she seems to be coming back with no issues on that front, another good week and happy with her progress 😊
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Weekend Friends,
Well the weather here in the UK hasn't bern great this week, but it has at least been warm still.
My little Freak has recovered increfibly from topping and the new shoots have grown about 5 inches in a week!
Still no feed but i may give a little next week as ive noticed that tge new leaves coming through have some slight discolouration.
Apart from that shes growing strongly and really happy with her progress.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Weekend Friends,
Well weve had quite the week in the UK, its rained most days and also 50mph winds!
Despite getting battered my little Freaks just fine shes got a good strong main stem and is a ok, not much growth this week due to the lack of sun but shes slowly filling out 😊
What i love about this plant is the hiding in plain sight, weve had a few visitors and no one gives her a second look!
Still no feed this week, decided against it as shes still ok but il keep any eye on things.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Friday Friends,
Well weve had a better week here weather wise with a few days of sun 😊
My little freak is still growing away although she has been nibbled a little, but nothing too concerning.
This plant is so weird the bigger she gets the more elaborate the leaves with some kinda growing in on themselves before spiking out again.
As she recovered quite well last time i've decided to top her again because at the moment shes a bit two dimensional and like her to bush out a bit more.
Apart from that shes doing well and i'm just leaving her too it 😊
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Weekend Friends,
Well ive finally given her a little feed this week as i think shes just about used up all of the stuff in the compost.
Shes had good growth this week has recovered ok from topping and although shes still a weird shape has started bushing out more and is looking nice and healthy 😊
As the days start to get a bit shorter ive definitely noticed recently that she has started to ramp up smell wise when you get close, although shes not flowering yet you can tell that the internal processes are gearing up and her juices flowing 😉
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy weekend Friends,
Well its been another rainy windy summers week here in the UK, however it is meant to dry up next week and im hoping the weathers plan is then to stay sunny until the end of the year. Ive been away all week so at least shes been watered for me and today was the first ive checked on her.
Despite the the weather shes had another solid week of growth and has filled out more, smell is still increasing and i don't think il do anymore topping.
Just waiting now for the days to get a bit shorter and flowering to begin 😊
Thats all from me this week thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Hello my Friends,
Sorry for the late update but i've been away this week.
My gal had a feed and watering before i went away, i came back to find that something has been eating the outer layer of her trunk and the lowest branch which had comepletly wilted. When i held it it snapped in my hand 🙁 Also she was keeling over so ive put in a bambo pole for support, hopefully she'll be ok as i dont need pest isdues at this stage!
On a positive note shes now getting preflowers so can't wait to see the next stage and its something for me to get excited about 😊
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Weekend Friends,
Well we've had a bit of a better week this week weather wise, shes had a few days of sun but also plenty of rain.
I've have noticed some snail trails on leaves, however for some reason they don't seem to be eating, this is very strange but entirely welcome as my other plants have been decimated this year. Perhaps this strain exudes something that normal ones don't?? If so this could be very important for UK growers! 😊
We are at just over 14 hours daylight currently, ive not noticed anymore preflowers but expecting more soon.
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Happy Weekend Friends,
My gals had a steady week this week, weathers still not fantastic but she has had a couple of days of nice hot sun 😊
A feed was administered at the beginning of the week bit i think i've burnt her a bit so il be laying off for a little while.
Shes still gearing up for flowering, although i've not noticed any new pistils the auxilary shoots have started bunching together at the end of the grow tips, also although not stinking smell is definitely increasing. The breeder info states first week in october for harvest, but i really can't see that happening in tge next six weeks!!!
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Hello Friends,
Well this week has been pretty similar to last week in terms of weather, mainly rainy days but a few of good sunshine.
I had a bit of a panic as she started dropping leaves about six in total in the past week, realised that this was probably in part due to over feeding, however this gals really weird, the burn was starting in the middle of the leaves and then working out. I decided to give the medium a good flush and we'll see how we go.
Shes still growing away and has put out more preflowers, however its really difficult to tell and you really have to look closely to see anything. I wouldn't class her as in flower yet, but soon as the days are getting shorter and we'll be at the 12hr mark in a few weeks.
The weathers meant to drastically improve from next week so i'm crossing my fingers for a relatively pain free flowering 😊
Thats all from me this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️
Hello Friends,
Well ive got some really bad news this week.
I went out for the day at the beginning of the day and we had an extremly hot day for the UK about 29c, although she was watered the day before i came home to this. I immediately put her in the shade and gave a thorough watering. Despite this the damage was done, she hasnt bounced back and is definitely dead.
Im really gutted as thats 2 of my four grows which have failec this year and im really sorry to anyone thats been following along, but il be removing shortly ✌️
