Seed started from a jiffy pod in a germination dome at the window. Off to the races, folks. Moved to my tent shortly after the window. Transferred to a 5gal fabric pot with 5lb of Kind Soil on the bottom, and the top layer is Coco Loco.

Exhausting hot air out of this room now, temps will drop to a better level than last week. This is growing faster than its Acapulco Gold cousin which is in the same 4x4 tent. Each have their own light and grow journal.

Things are going well. I just wish that I could get my CO2 higher, but in order to keep my temps down I have to exhaust air out of the room. It should be okay though, since there is a constant flow of fresh air. Day 19: Topping day. I'm following a manifolding (mainlining) tutorial, and this first step is a bit scary. But I'm giving it a go, and we'll see what happens. If I butcher it I still have a couple seeds of this strain to try again later. This is called Nebula's Manifold, and step 1 is letting the plant grow to 6 nodes, topping at the third node, and defoliating everything beneath it. If I have enough time with the Kind Soil's life, I will eventually create 8 main colas in a very short time this way. Let's see what happens. EDIT: I am going to be doing Nugbuckets'Mainlining instead of Nebula's Manifold. I've been doing research on other journals, and the time loss is negligible if at all. Credit: Mainlining by Nugbuckets: https://www.growweedeasy.com/mainlining-nugbuckets Old comment: I'm only using the Recharge water every third or fourth watering. The manifold structure is coming along (see previous week's comment). The reason why I am going with Nebula's Manifold over Nugbuckets' Mainlining is because Nebula's is supposed to shave off about 1-2 weeks' veg time. If I end up with a lot of time left to the 2&1/2 month mark, next time I will do Mainlining. 2&1/2 months is the recommended veg time for a 5 gallon pot with Kind Soil. I try to update at least every other day with new pics throughout the week, so keep checking back. Nebula's Manifold, by Nebula Haze: https://www.growweedeasy.com/manifold

The accidental splitting of my stem from a hand slip last week on day 28 hasn't slowed her down a bit. Everything besides that is going as planned. She is a thirsty broad-leafed plant though, I almost can't even go a day without her starting to droop from lack of water. Riding it on the line though so as not to over-water the soil and let the roots have oxygen. The leaves pop right back up shortly after watering. I also only use a little Recharge water every fourth watering or so. I'm following Nugbuckets' Mainlining method to get 8 even colas, and so far so good. https://www.growweedeasy.com/mainlining-nugbuckets

This is such a strong growing strain. Other incarnations of it are known as Blueberry OG or Blue OG, and I don't know if they grow as strong as this one, but if they do they would all be great growers. At the end of week 4 I accidentally split the stem, was super worried, taped it up, and she responded like nothing happened except by having a slightly smaller branch that is holding two of the eight colas now - nothing to really worry about. I will need to support the branch as it gets taller, but that isn't a problem. A little recap of my grow, which is also growing alongside with its Acapulco Gold cousin in the same tent in my other journal: I'm going all organic with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge. I'm doing Nugbuckets' Mainlining method to get 8 even colas by symmetrically topping through the weeks, and it is going very smoothly. I'm done with the topping now, so all I need to do for a while is let it get taller. I have roughly 4-6 weeks of hot soil life to go until the recommended time to switch to flower. I might even have to super crop her a little bit if my Acapulco Gold doesn't catch up in height. Fast grower even with the stem split from the end of week 4. Topping is finished, so now it is just about vertical growth until there gets to be a point where defoliation is necessary, which might be soon. I decided not to use any Recharge this last week and a half since I want to let the Kind Soil do its thing without any interference, and plan to go another week and a half without it. The height number shown doesn't seem to be much of an increase, but that is because I needed to LST to stop the explosive growth of the 8 colas from crowding each other out (see pics). You could even say this strain grows like a weed ;) . This strain grows like a champ, and I would highly recommend it to other growers who want a resilient plant to work with. The growth is rapid even with using organic Kind Soil hot soil. If the flavor is as good as the strength of this plant, then I will continue to grow this strain in the future. I linked the seed page below since growdiaries.com doesn't have this strain in its database yet. Other incarnations of it are known as Blueberry OG or Blue OG (Blue OG isn't as directly related, but is close). I am having much more fun and confidence with this plant than my Acapulco Gold. The speed of veg growth has slowed down a bit, but it's not a problem. Although, the watering situation is very tricky with her. She drinks up all her water really fast, but you can't water too much or the leaves will curl hard to transpire water. So I have to very sparingly water it by just a little bit in the morning and just a little bit at night. That's the best way to keep this Blueberry Kush happy. She most definitely does not like going dry, and droops a lot when that happens. I also added the tomato ring this week in order to be able to get it in there before there is too many leaves and stems to try and get through. She also really likes defoliation of the big fan leaves at the bottom from time to time. A little recap of my grow, which is also growing alongside with its Acapulco Gold cousin in the same tent in my other journal: I'm going all organic with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge. When I was looking at pictures of Nugbuckets' tomato ring height, I realized mine was a little high and adjusted it a bitThe colas are starting to grow at different rates, so I supercropped a bit to try and even things out. One of the stems popped open, but I quickly taped it and it should be fine. I also wanted it to slow down a little bit so my Acapulco Gold could catch up in height. I'm getting close to the point of making the switch to flower. She’s still growing well, except I had a little mishap with my circulation fan shifting overnight last week, and it wind burned two of my colas - one of them got hit pretty bad. I even might throw that cola on the chopping block if it doesn’t snap out of its funk in the next week. If you compare the height between now and last week it looks like it hadn’t grown much, but that is because I had to pull down two of my colas to even them out with the rest of the crew (the rest except the wind burnt colas). With Nugbuckets’ method of mainlining, he recommends to keep the top of all of the colas at the same elevation. I finally found my stride with watering, but that’s because I’m a noob and still trying to dial my good and bad habits in. It is a little late in the grow to figure that out, but next time will be a lot better. I also added calmag this week because of Kind Soil’s tendency to suffer calmag deficiencies with LED lighting (the Acapulco Gold in the same tent starting showing calcium deficiencies and I found out about this KS problem through some online research in multiple forums). Along with the Recharge as well, I also started adding a dab of Mammoth P at the end of the week. A little recap of my grow, which is also growing alongside with its Acapulco Gold cousin in the same tent in my other journal: I'm going all organic with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge and now also Mammoth P. I'm doing Nugbuckets' Mainlining method to get 8 even colas. Next week will be my last week of veg because I think I’ve almost plateaued with the other plant in the same tent’s veg height on its pheno, and it is also around the recommended time to switch to flower with Kind Soil’s recommendation for max veg life to still have enough nutrients to last through flower. This was a great week, but with a little bit of sadness. I made the executive decision to remove the two wind burnt colas from the fan incident the other week (it shifted overnight blowing directly on those two stalks). They just weren’t recovering, and even started to yellow a bit. The rest of the plant was very perky after they were removed - even more so due to the fact that the plant can focus less energy on trying to heal its wind burns. It’s been tough to get the leaves to be “praying” consistently on this plant, but there was a lot of that this week. Each of the 6 remaining colas grew three inches, and with this being an all organic grow, I’m pretty stoked about that. On the last night of the week I switched to 11/13 on the light schedule. According to some research, 11/13 brings out the individual profiles and terps of plants much more than 12/12, and there really isn’t much evidence to prove that this hurts yields as well. Also, this being in the Blueberry family I am hoping on seeing some color without relying on dropping the temperature to see it. The flowering stretch is on. Mostly even growth with the remaining 6 colas, and that even growth has made it easy to train her. The smell of the bud sites is divine - I can’t wait to see the flowers on this girl and smell their full aromas. The watering has been very difficult to keep up with on her as she is a super thirsty plant, and my job prevents me from being able to water her twice a day during the flowering light cycle. A little recap of my grow, which is also growing alongside with its Acapulco Gold cousin in the same tent in my other journal: I'm going all organic with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge, and now also Mammoth P and Camg+. I'm doing Nugbuckets' Mainlining technique to get 8 even colas, but 2 of the colas had to be removed because my circulation fan shifted overnight back in the veg stage and severely wind burned them. I now only have 6. My flowering light cycle is at 11/13 to bring out the individual characteristics of the plant. 11/13 has also been proven to accelerate the flower cycle. I defoliated a bit this week because of the fan leaves throwing shadows down into the lower sections of the colas. I probably should have done it the week before flipping to reduce shock during the flowering stretch, but it’s okay because the plant responded really well anyway. Buds are forming, and the top weight of the colas seems to be increasing pretty quickly. I am looking forward to comparing the performance of this girl compared to the Acapulco Gold beside her - this Blueberry Kush has only 6 colas because of a wind burn accident, and the AG has all 8 of her colas. Yet this BK still has taller colas though. So it will be interesting to see which has the better yield. This week was okay, the buds are growing, and the smell is like a piney fruit (I want to say pineapple, but I hate pineapple and I actually like the smell of this, haha). When the buds fatten up, it will probably be very pungent. The flowering stretch is still going, but I feel like it will be slowing down soon. The sugar leaves are getting very sparkly. I have been watching a lot of grow videos lately, and those that I watched from the Green House Seed Co. (who always have monster yields in their videos) stated that you can increase yields by letting your plant go dry after the 16th day of flowering for 5 days, then again at 28 days, so I thought I would give it a shot. Well, I broke down and gave her a sip of water the 1st and 2nd days, and then fully watered on the 4th. It was just too droopy looking, and even one of the lowest leaves yellowed, so I got scared. Next time I will probably only go 3 days max with little sips of water each day. The buds are getting plumper, and the stretch is slowing. I had to brace 2 of the colas because they were starting to lean. The aroma of this plant is divine. I was afraid it was going to end up smelling like pineapple (because pineapple is gross ;) ), but luckily it is maturing into more of a sweet fruity smell. When I was moving it the other day I accidentally brushed my hand up against it and my hand had the smell stuck onto it for a few hours. The smell of this girl is PUNGENT. It has gone from a fruity pine smell to straight up lemon and pine scented surface cleaner (but in a good way) and a hint of mint. Makes my eyes water and my sinuses open up. Not much blueberry aroma though. The smell sticks to my hands for hours after leaving the tent. In the beginning of this week I did another two dry days to see if it really does increase yield (h/t to Greenhouse Seed Co. grow videos) - I kind of had no choice anyway since I had to go out of town Fri-Sun. The buds are making the colas top heavy due to the length of the skinny stems, and I will probably go get some more plant supports for it this next weekend. The leaves are starting to show fall colors. The photos look a little washed out this week because I was experimenting with the camera brightness on my phone. I don't think I'm going to be doing that next week. The plant is less yellow looking in person. The smell of this girl is EVEN MORE PUNGENT now. Even with the somewhat fresh carbon filter it is throwing a hint of its smell out of the grow room. This is definitely the last week as well, thanks to the 11/13 light cycle. If you are into plants with intensely awesome aromas, this is definitely the plant for you. Recharge recommends to stop Recharging during the last two weeks, so I have discontinued its use - this is probably because of the molasses content. Although, I’m a week late because I didn’t realize how much the 11/13 cycle was going to accelerate the trichome development. It should be okay though. A little recap of my grow, which is also growing alongside with its Acapulco Gold cousin in the same tent in my other journal: I'm going all organic with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge, and now also Mammoth P and Camg+. I'm doing Nugbuckets' Mainlining technique to get 8 even colas, but 2 of the colas had to be removed because my circulation fan shifted overnight back in the veg stage and severely wind burned those 2. I now only have 6. My flowering light cycle is at 11/13 to bring out the individual characteristics of the plant. 11/13 has also been proven to accelerate the flower cycle. I am looking forward to comparing the performance of this girl compared to the Acapulco Gold beside her - this Blueberry Kush has only 6 colas because of a wind burn accident, and the AG has all 8 of her colas. Yet this BK still has taller and thicker colas though. So it will be interesting to see which has the better yield. I will be improving my ventilation and watering system next time around. I learned a lot about topping, defoliation, and watering properly this time, so I am looking forward to using the experience I gained on this round for the next one. I’m really happy with how it turned out nonetheless. This strain was very forgiving - I totally recommend it for anybody who is still learning, and even for just the aroma and taste. I could just tape the container to my face and huff the flavor all day and be content. This was an all organic grow with Kind Soil hot soil and a very minimal use of Recharge, Mammoth P, and Camg . I did Nugbuckets' Mainlining technique to get 8 even colas, but 2 of the colas had to be removed because my circulation fan shifted overnight back in the veg stage and severely wind burned those 2, so I only ended up with 6 colas. My overall weight would have been over two ounces with those two extra colas. My flowering light cycle was at 11/13 to bring out the individual characteristics of the plant. 11/13 has also been proven to accelerate the flower cycle. In the beginning I accidentally severed the main stalk, but taped it quickly and the plant survived almost like nothing happened. Later I also split one of the cola stems and it was left hanging by a string, and I quickly taped that as well, then even more so it acted like nothing happened. Compared to the yield of the Acapulco Gold that grew beside her, she ended up with less weight since this Blueberry Kush has only 6 colas because of the wind burn accident, and the AG had all 8 of hers. Yet this BK still had taller and thicker colas though. After some calculation of averages from what the BK produced with only 6 colas it would have actually had more, somewhere around 71.65g instead of 53.74g. The AG ended up with 65.91g. Final thoughts: the Kind Soil for me isn't super fantastic. It works really well for some people, but I think maybe it lost some of its oomph being shipped to me. I also had a lot of negative pressure in my tent, so it kept things really dry, which also isn't good for living soils. So next time around I will install a better fan that has a temperature controlled variable speed. This will also help with my CO2 retention. I believe fixing these issues will help increase my yields. Also, for “grow room size”, the open space in my tent was much larger than the plant itself, so I think that it is unfair to rank the g/ft^2 size based on tent space, so I used the actual square area of the plant itself for grow room size instead. For example, if I were growing in a 20’ x 20’ basement with a plant that is only 1’ in diameter, it wouldn’t make sense to rate the plant’s production off of the 400ft^2 area. "The Church" by the legendary breeder, Green House Seed Co., and "Holy Grail Kush" by the powerhouse breeder DNA Genetics. It will be a "religious experience" - agnostically of course 😜 .
