Germination
Will soak seeds in shot glass for 24 hours then place them in a paper towel inside a sandwich bag until they germinate. Once germinated I’ll transfer to the buckets to get my seedlings growing. I usually grow with 5 gallon hydro DWC buckets but wanna experiment and see what 3 gallons buckets produce. Alway a tight squeeze for 5 gallon buckets in my 4 x 2 tent but thinking about doing SCROG for the first time since I know my beans are feminized. This is probably my 20th grow or so and I always experiment with something new just for fun.

All 5 of 5 seeds sprouted. Decided to leave them in the cloner for the next 2-3 weeks just to develop some roots before I transfer to a 5 gallon bucket. Went with a little aggressive feed on the first week. We’ll see how they respond. Humidity inside the tent has been low so decided to add the dome for a week or so to see what happens. Also turned off some of the fans just to get more moisture in the air. Giving this T5 a shot but if it doesn’t work out I’ll just turn to the 1000W LED for the entire grow. Ph a little high and TDS a little off by 167 but I’ll let it ride.

This week was kinda cool saw an increase in growth. I kinda just ditched the T5 and put up the LED and went ahead an transferred them to the 5 gallon buckets. All buckets have airs tones and I continued with the aggressive feed this week. The light cycles is now 18/6. 4 of the 5 plants are responding well. I have one with stunted growth because I damaged the root at transfer but the recovery is pretty cool. Usually I would have tossed the seedling but I dipped this one in some cloning solution and gave it a shot. I’m having some temp and humidity issues so I’ll probably start running the AC pretty soon.

This week we’ve gotten some significant growth. Some funky leave shapes but none the less some good growth, could be genetic or environment related. Still having temp control issues but the weather has been changing to cooler and rainy. I’m using my normal 4 nutrients and will add some floralicious plus next water change. Few signs of heat stress with minor curling of the fan leaves on two plants so backed off the light another 8 inches. My homework for this week is acquiring some more information on this strain, grabbing some oscillating fans to get the air moving, and investing in a submersible pump to make water changes easier lol Was thinking about the Vivosun 800GPH….

This week I fixed the heat issue which remedied the leaf curling. Discovered I have a lil pest issue. Looks like fungus gnats. Sprayed all plants and drenched the clay pellet medium with a Dr. Enzyme and water mixture. So far the plants are responding well. Still have two star plants out of all 5. Performed topping on all plants and some LST. The two plants that are thriving I’ll just tie down method for a cross shape, for two plants I’ll use the T shape and the plant that was stunted I didn’t train at all. Temperature control seems to be my biggest issue at the moment so just gotta bite the bill and run the AC during the day. Haven’t changed the water yet since the last entry. I usually leave the water for 10-14 days before each water change so I’ll just top of the buckets that need it with some pH’d water. Not very impressed with these genetics so far but we’ll see what happens. I’m used to seedsman genetics so my plants are normally bigger by week 4 (actual week 1 of veg in my opinion because a seeding takes 3-4 weeks to get to the veg stage).

Added some notes this week. Wanted to get some microbes in there opposed to the floralicious plus which always makes my roots nasty due to the seaweed. First time using tarantula so we’ll see how it goes. Will use a little bit throughout the entire grow. Still making slow progress growth wise not sure I’m a fan of the fruit gushers strain. Seen some online vlogs with the same issues slow growth initially then a huge stretch right after flip. Idk it’s a feminized plant too so we’ll see. I’m not impressed and a little disappointed compared to other grows and the size of plants at week 5 veg normally. Got a handle on the temps and all is well.

Haven’t changed the water yet it’s been 7 days, I usually change water every 10 days. Nothing has changed except I’ve been leaving the AC off. 65-70 degrees was making the humidity too low so I’ll just let it go and monitor the plants. They definitely drank more this week which is cool. I used my fish tank water to top off the buckets after my water change. I only have tetras so not much junk in the water. Got a little terrarium experiment going on with my cuttings. Just dipped them in some clonex and put them in the coco coir bedding. It has pretty good drainage with clay pellets at the bottom and holds humidity well.

Grow Questions

I’ve been following this guide from a grower on YouTube and they recommend flushing after ever 3rd nutrient cycle for extended veg. Is that necessary? My leaves look fine nice healthy and green. I have been feeding aggressively though.

Uffff....

Nice. So, this grow should be breeze. 20 under your belt. Can't wait till I hit tat. Hopeful3ly by then I'll have my few winner strains and put my mind too a few big grows instead of 15-20 small ones. Also thinking of running a scrog in my 70cm2. Good Growing

@gottagrowsometime, Thanks fam. Yeah I’ve pretty much mastered DWC. I suck at growing in pots lol Critical Purple Kush was my go to strain but after the pandemic I stopped getting the beans. I started crossing some of my favorites and making my own seeds for a while. Now I just grow whatever I can get my hands on. Matchmaker genetics was my last grow better than bacon is definitely a great plant, heavy feeder, and you basically have to light it on fire to ruin the plant lol I failed at scrog last time so I’m more of a lst person but wanna fill out the entire tent like I see growers doing on here.
